got Demon souls and Dragon Age inquisition from the ps store sale. DAI is pretty allright, I dunno what I was expecting, but it's ok so far.
DeS is fucking awesome though. Played it for hours.

I found an English patch for Berserk for PS2 and I played that. It's pretty fun once you get used to the controls.

Played Scholar of the First Sin through last night up until ~8am, went to sleep, woke up at 6pm.
Tried to find a game of RE5 to join, but nobody was playing. Moved to RE6 and the only people playing were across the planet, joined someone and the guy's internet shit out half a chapter in.

Still forcing myself to play through Final Fantasy XIII. 39 or so hours in, and in the last 3 hours the game has had a marginal improvement in story and tone [it now sounds like it could at some point have the story of a Final Fantasy game], and level design [no longer endless copy-pasted corridors, now open areas that run at silky smooth 12 FPS]. Still not any more enjoyable than it was 20 hours ago though.

If you are entirely new to JRPGs, probably Chrono Trigger, which is probably one of THE quintessential JRPGs of all time. Alternatively, Final Fantasy IV through VI [including V]. Earthbound is NOT a good starting point though, because regardless of its quality it's such an "off" game in setting and tone that it's not a very good representative of the conventions of the genre as a whole.

I'm not new but I was super young when we had a SNES so I really didn't get exposure to many of the games on the system aside from Mario and Zelda.

Being honest, I've been in a gaming slump with the only games that I've been able to play are Civ V. and Binding of Isaac. I just want a game to get me back and I do enjoy RPGs a lot

Honestly there are so many things wrong with the game I'm not sure only Toriyama can be blamed for all this mess.

Although the person I want to slap the most right now is whoever was responsible for porting this thing to PC and have the framerate be so bad that the goddamn skill menu lags once you progress far enough into the game. A MENU.

I finished setting up my new 4k 55" monitor
it supports 4k@60fps over hdmi, but i only have a 750ti which cannot fucking handle that. will upgrade the card in due time.

played some strike vector with all of the visuals turned way down and it was still fucking radical, and some bloodborne too.

Played a minuscule amount of Witcher 3.
A few matches of Black Ops III.

And then watched all of the SOMA Transmissions.
I can't decide what's eerier. The things happening in PATHOS-II, or how calmly the crew seem to react to it. I guess when the human race is about ten more deaths away from being extinct, it kind of makes sense not to give a fuck. The sentiment actually makes my head hurt a little.

Playing this game with a Logitech G27 and a good music is the most comfy game experience i can have.
