$1.50 on PSN. Convince me to buy or not buy this game.
Also go buy Suikoden right now, since it's also $1.50 and worth every penny of that and more.
It has some dinosaurs and the soundtrack is by Yoko. The final boss music has a good sense of progression.
+good battle system
+fun weapon customization
-shitty visuals even for ps1
-really really short for an rpg (8-10hours), but pretty much 0 filler.
-no replay value
-fucking annoying final boss
easily worth the money for the expereince.
It's just the default settings. I am not a clever man and could barely figure out Retroarch.
Yes! Buy it! Now!
If it were any other game, I'd understand. Parasite Eve is worth it. Especially for a fucking $1.50 price tag.
No, I think they mean the opera.
>+fun weapon customization
>-no replay value
I find the weapon customization to be part of the replay value. Not strong enough to finish the Chrysler building? Go beat the Final Boss so you can go through another run of the game.
Granted, that may not be fun for most, but it's fun for me.
>No replay value
>There is an entire bonus dungeon with the true final boss at the end in NG+
>Final boss annoying at all
What? What is even annoying about the final boss? Unless you are referring to the true final boss
which I never actually got to.
Fucking love this one, probably my favourite Square game on the PSX. I just never quite understood why it was marketed as "the cinematic RPG". Does anybody know?
>shitty visuals even for ps1
Nah, I think it looks pretty good.
>really really short for an rpg (8-10hours)
Honestly this isn't a problem because it's paced very well.
>no replay value
But it's fun so I want to replay it because I had fun.
Also the Chrysler Building.
>fucking annoying final boss
You mean like, when you get chased?
Yeah, I guess so. The fight itself was good.
>that FMV where big fat pregnant Eve is nude, covered in huge nippleless boobs
2 had amazing monster designs but everything else was dildos.
>50% of the game is spent in the same shitty desert
>Music is 'mansion basement - Director's Cut' tier bad because Shimomura didn't make it
>'We want the Resident Evil audience' gameplay
I think you're thinking of Toukiden.
Suikoden is an RPG about political drama loosely based on a famous Chinese novel about 108 people banding together.
Maybe everyone else is just short.
>half-baked RE clone
I can't even be bothered to finish it.
I more I play the more I hate it.
I'm in the not-Umbrella facility currently. Glad to be out of the desert at least.
>2 had amazing monster designs
Oh, definitely, at that point in the fight you're at a few hits from death, so you gotta dodge perfectly inbetween attacks.
I can see how someone might not like ot because of that, even though I enjoyed it.
It probably would have spooked me if I actually played this when it came out but now I find body horror related things interesting.
>That part after the final boss
Awe, the poor police dog.
Isn't there a big ass spider boss the police department roof?
The poor gunsmith guy.
The Japanese weeabo guy is cool.
Your black partner that jumps out of the helicopter and catches on fire just to get you the mitochondria-rounds is based as fuck.
Don't be sad that it'll be never be that good again, be happy that you got to play the game in its prime.
The summer-children, will never experience the awesomeness that is Parasite Eve the way you did.
>towards the start
This is the concept art
My favorite is still the one where her bare chest is covered in blood which lets him draw her nipples uncensored
I honestly got bored with the Crystler building after...I forget the boss. The one that splits itself into 4 pieces that circle around the edges of the arena.
It's just the same random-generated floors over and over with no form of map and is just based on trial-and-error.
Well actually, looking at his style I'd say that's 3rd Birthday
Too clean and angular for 1998 or whenever PEII came out
This enemy is a bunch of horseshit
What I always found kinda funny was how sexualized the art was, and how almost none of it manifests in the actual game or the sequel beyond the shower scene.
I don't want to acknowledge the 3rd
