Why aren't you going to buy Metroid Zero Mission when it finally releases tomorrow on the Wii U Virtual Console, anon?
Then what's the point.
I just wanted to play this on a handheld again.
Somewhat related thread
I'm playing super metroid for the first time on wii u virtual console.
The default controls are killing me. Should I suck it up, or can I play around with the button customizations? X to shoot and A to jump are killing me, but maybe Y to shoot and B to jump would be a lot more intuitive to me, but I don't know how important dash button is. Maybe dash could be ZR? Also maybe select set to ZL?
I own it, I've emulated it on my PC, and I have it on homebrew on my Wii. I'll stick to actual Wii U games for my Wii U, I'm not about to re-buy old games just to play them on the gamepad.
Okay thanks. I was afraid I'd get some important upgrade halfway into the game that is set to Y or something, and then I'd have to mess with the controls again because I moved Y to start or some shit
METROID 4 WAS RELEASED IN 2002
TO SAY WE AREN'T ENTITLED TO COMPLAIN ABOUT THE LACK OF A MAINLINE GAME IN OVER 14 YEARS IS BULLSHIT
TO GIVE US A REMAKE OF THE FIRST METROID IN ORDER TO MAKE IT PLAY LIKE AN IMPROVED VERSION OF THE THIRD GAME, AND THEN NOT GIVE US A REMAKE OF THE SECOND METROID IN ORDER TO DO THE SAME THING, IS ANNOYING AS FUCK
>oh boy Nintendo will surely care about Metroid if I buy VC shekel grabs
Nah, I've accepted my favorite series is dead.
I'll just make SSs to it eventually and atleast try to do what I expected from Nintendo.
And be thankful if we never get Metroid 5. They'll just put out some half-assed piece of shit with art approved by The Early Learning Centre.
Why would I buy a game I already own only to play it in a worse form factor on a shitty emulator? I can do that on PC for free.
But I am though. Never played it and I've wanted to for a long time now.
Daily reminder eshop sales is how nintendo literally gauges if there is still interest in a series.

what's with all this 2 remake business?
terrible game, like zelda 2. black sheep that should just be forgotten about.
I want a new game in the series. preferably with a new female protagonist. like samus' protege or something/daughter.
they could call it metroid: reloaded
the "guide" may be complete shit but it's pretty safe to say FF is going to be fucking awful considering it's not even an actual Metroid Game.
>S.T.E.A.M is shown off, looks incredibly mediocre
>STEAM comes out
>is incredibly mediocre
Sometimes the book and cover are shit.
>Why is this on Wii U and not 3DS
3DS is shit and can't handle them with the proper VC interface with save states and all that. The ambassador GBA games don't have any of the VC features, can't enter sleep mode, etc.
I still have my copy for GBA so I'd just play that.
>how do I know it's going to be shit? i-i just know, OK! don't question it, just listen and believe!
When did Metroid fans become more autistic than Kingdom Hearts fans? It's genuinely impressive how willing people are to throw away basic critical thinking just because one game doesn't feature muh pretty blonde waifu.
>3DS is shit and can't handle them with the proper VC interface with save states and all that.
>Nintendo can't even do official SS's on their own hardware while mediocre emulators made by the DS2 crew can
You should go pick up another buzzword to throw out.
G O T Y
Not really, just look where you're jumping and don't be dumb.
To remake it where it's not bad.
After all, it's Metroid 2, the origin of the Baby Metroid of Samus' flashbacks, and the first time you saw a Queen Metroid.
WHICH GOT ITS THUNDER STOLEN BY GODDAMNED OTHER M
FUCK I'M STILL MAD
Because I still have my original GBA cartridge and a GBA, GBA SP, DS, and Gamecube GBP adapter to play it on.
Why would I pay Nintendo's preposterous rip-off prices to download 15-year-old digital data again? There is nothing the VC does that my emulators don't do infinitely better, if I wanted to not play it on original hardware.
>being this pleb
It needs to run flawlessly if they're going to charge money for it. If you're using a free emulator made by fans it doesn't matter if the game crashes, has bugs or doesn't run as well as the original. If you're paying for an official product, it should work 100% of the time.
Because anon, if you don't buy it again then we'll never see another metroid again, ever!
Because making people buy your game twice is definitely the most rational way to gauge interest.
There's do though, save-states aren't exactly hard to do regardless.
I hope we never DO see another Metroid again, ever.
Other M proved that Nintendo has forgotten how to make a decent Metroid game.
Federation Force proved that Nintendo gives zero fucks about that and has no problem cynically exploiting the Metroid name to sell a few more copies.
My sincere hope is that they don't shit on the name any more than they already have, and the series can be left to die with at least some of its dignity intact.
The good games will always be there for us to go back and play, which we can thankfully do many, many times thanks to their open-ended nature (sequence breaking).
Hot dang if I had a Wii U still I would buy it.
I've been wanting to ever since that thread where /v/ lauded it as the best game ever contender after OoT.
I must taste that true Metroid nonlinearity.
Because I've already played it to 100% completion several times over and my Wii U is stuck on 5.5 while I wait for Loadiine on that firmware and (hopefully) Nintendon't/Wii backup loader that runs natively off the Wii U instead of the vWii.
