Before starting a thread here I read a bit about the PSN sales and the majority said that the PS1 version of Chrono Trigger sucked, but a few said the PSN version was better. This was not confirmed though and I find it somewhat hard to believe.

1. It runs perfectly fine, my only real complaint is that it ends up feeling empty and bland after playing Golden which has significantly more content. If you were having problems with games, it was more than likely your console.

2. They are significantly longer because it's the old PS1 port which had bad loading times (disc). The game is completely playable, but keep in mind, you'll be sitting through pure black screens for a few a seconds whenever you enter a new area, including buildings.

I have over 100 hours in Persona 3 FES on PS3. Knock on wood, never had a problem. I also bought Persona 4 on PS3 but I got a Vita so I stopped playing that version, both are good. Pay attention when you save the game, if you get an error message save again and it's all good.

I transferred that one to the Vita. The load times are better when you set Disc Speed to Fast on a PSP/Vita/PS2, but you can't change the speed on a PS3. Unlike the other PS1 ports of FF5 and FF6, Chrono Trigger PS1 has the more tolerable load times all things considered.

False consoles last longer because they dont deal with all the extra processing and overhead PC deals with. Pound for Pound console hardware will always outperform PC hardware because console hardware is designed to do one ting for the longest time possible, that is play games.

My ps2 is still going strong where as the computer I built in 2010 has slowly succumbed to being close to inoperable due to the slowness after being on 24/7 while playing MMO's and online shooters 24/7 not to mention to terrbytes of porn that has flowed through the system, etc

I used to be able to emulate wii games with HD texture packs, now I cant run ps2 isos even semi decently, my CPU is fine my computer just got hold and the hardware gave up. Sme thing with smartphones, people think having their $700 piece of tech on 24/7 and connected to the internet is going to last them 3 years kek, you'd be lucky to ge 3 years out of smartphones these days.

Consoles are incredibly optimized dedicated gaming platforms, if your aim is to play games for the longest time possible with close to zero problems consoles are bette than PC

If you want to play some games and miss out on half of them while maximizing performance on the ones you do get with multitasking, utility and also maximizing your workload for the shortest time possible, that's what PC is for.

PC is not a dedicated gaming platform and thus it fails to perform like one, just admit this.

You do you realize that emulation is cpu bounded, that emulates mutiple times the compute power then what the PS2 does. It's not native performance, there is performance penalty emulating because it's translating proprietary software.

It also it doesn't matter that consoles outperformn PC at paper spec because PC hardware have mutiple times horsepower of your typical console anyway. John Carmack mention this, but everybody forget the second part.

Components don't just age, when they go bad they do more than just slow things down, they become unstable, you get frequent crashes and errors and your whole system falls apart. I've only got ten psn bucks, and I enjoy both series.

Thanks to this I got Persona 4, Mega Man 9 and 10, and Parasite Eve.

My friend who's a huge RPG nerd said P.E. plays like a modified RE3 but I don't know what that means since I've never played any of the RE games.

Anyone have tips as to what that is or the game in general?

I remember selling my copy of Tomba! to Babbage's to pay for Tomb Raider 3 back in the day.

PE2 is more like Resident Evil. PE... it's hard to explain its combat, but its really neat.
