I was about to buy a few games from this sale but I have a few questions. Maybe a few anons can help me out.
1)How does Persona 4 run on a PS3? I had for my PS2 and loved it and want to play it again. I played Suikoden 3 and God Hand on my PS3 and maybe I'm crazy but I thought the console made louder noises than usual. My console broke a few months ago and I don't want to iverheat this one as soon.
2)There are tons of good PS1 games for sale but I hheard that some of them have long loading times like Chrono Trigger. Is it really that bad? I'm looking at Chrono Triger, Chrono Cross, FFTactics, Breath of Fire 4, Parasite Eve, Dino Crisis 1 & 2.
Thanks a lot for your replies in advance.
Ok, thanks for the answers.
Before starting a thread here I read a bit about the PSN sales and the majority said that the PS1 version of Chrono Trigger sucked, but a few said the PSN version was better. This was not confirmed though and I find it somewhat hard to believe.
Thanks, I didn't even know there are censored versions out there.
1. It runs perfectly fine, my only real complaint is that it ends up feeling empty and bland after playing Golden which has significantly more content. If you were having problems with games, it was more than likely your console.
2. They are significantly longer because it's the old PS1 port which had bad loading times (disc). The game is completely playable, but keep in mind, you'll be sitting through pure black screens for a few a seconds whenever you enter a new area, including buildings.
Thanks, can't compare it either. Tried to play FF6 the other day and damn, the loading times were really offputting.
Ok, so it was the damn fat console. Never played Golden so I'm good.
The loading times sucks. That really is almost a deal breaker.
Thanks, I didn't remember it that bad when I played it years ago. I must have been more patient then. I have the original disc, I'll guess it's time to use my emulators for Wii again.
I think the implication seems to be the former is the bundle of both games while the latter is just the game itself.
Prices make it seem odd - why not get the bundle instead? It's very strange.
Rather like this sale, pondering a few things.
Is Black Flag okay to play if you haven't played AC3? I've only played 1 and 2 and a little of Brotherhood, but everyone says Black Flag is the best along with 2.
How's PS4 Infamous? I feel like this thread's avoiding the shitposter limelight so far so maybe I'll get actual opinions besides 'its shit'.
Ugh, there is literally nothing good in this sale that I can't get on the PC for free and with better graphics.
I have $15 left from when I bought Yakuza 5 and there's nothing to spend them on since all the games on PSN are either outrageously expensive or if they're discounted, it's because they're shit.
It's actually a blessing if you haven't played AC3. It's not as good as 2, but it's miles better than 3 which is one of my worst gaming experiences in two decades. And storywise...the AC lore is already fucked so don't worry about missing anything. It's all crap lore-wise.
Dunno if I want Suikoden or Parasite eve, basically have 2.78 left over from whatever
Parasite Eve is probably shorter and I never played Suikoden before but it sounds super long and RPG heavy
The super powers make the game a lot of fun, but if you haven't even played 3 I recommend at least watching some gameplay to see if you'll like it since 4 is just 3 with superpowers.
>1)How does Persona 4 run on a PS3? I had for my PS2 and loved it and want to play it again.
I have over 100 hours in Persona 3 FES on PS3. Knock on wood, never had a problem. I also bought Persona 4 on PS3 but I got a Vita so I stopped playing that version, both are good. Pay attention when you save the game, if you get an error message save again and it's all good.
>2)There are tons of good PS1 games for sale but I hheard that some of them have long loading times like Chrono Trigger. Is it really that bad?
I transferred that one to the Vita. The load times are better when you set Disc Speed to Fast on a PSP/Vita/PS2, but you can't change the speed on a PS3. Unlike the other PS1 ports of FF5 and FF6, Chrono Trigger PS1 has the more tolerable load times all things considered.
Thanks. I will do that with the save states for Persona 4. I'll buy that one, but I guess Chrono Trigger is out of the picture. I've been looking at some gameplay videos for that particular version and it's bad. Guess I'll have to replay the DS version, which I already know was great. I just wanted to play it again on a big screen.
There is nothing fucking good in the sale like always. God damn it, all I have on PS4 is Destiny, BB, SAO, Nobunaga's Ambition, and Star Wars. I've played the shit out of everything and only Nobunaga's ambition is still fun. When are we getting some more good fucking games?
If you haven't played V yet I would say go for that. SP is good and MP is pretty fun as well. >>323817472
Did you like play the first 2? Then sure go for it. If you haven't it's still worth checking out. Fun super power action game.
>Been wanting to play Persona 4 Ultimax
>Didn't want to pay $40 for it
It's a sign. Looks like I'll be picking it up, but fuck that 11gb size.
>80% off sales
Steam is dead, mustards on suicide watch. PlayStation 4 wins yet again.
I played the first one on PSP and the vita one has a lot more content, but I liked it. Basically a much more anime'd Phoenix Wright with an interesting visual style is what I'd call it.
2 is supposed to be even better(and has better waifus).
I got $4 in psnbux.
Is either Chrono Cross or Katamari Damacy worth playing?
Note: I love JPRGs, but I dislike Chrono Trigger. Also I own and loved the heck out of Katamari Forever, which I understand is mostly a rehash of the original games levels?
Its GTA with ironic social commentary and some environment interactions with ATMs, traffic lights, cameras, etc.
A fun game to dick around in, you may even finish it eventually. Not something you sit and play for 6 hours straight.
>hurrr all your games are shit because i cant play them on the cheap
Heard that one before. I bet you never wanted Bloodborne either, eh?
Is the DMC HD collection good or is it silent hills tier?
Try the demo, the first one is pretty fun but be warned it runs like shit
yeah, its worth a play although going from dark souls it will feel very bare bones
stop arguing nigs, you gain nothing, both platforms have their good games and your loyalty means jack, fucking, shit
probably because investing in her social link is the least beneficial until the end. You can get a secret dungeon by ranking up to 10 with her, but I'm sure most people would rather focus on their party members to get their battle bonuses.
I didn't mess with her until my NG+ playthrough
>I was about to buy a few games from this sale but I have a few questions. Maybe a few anons can help me out.
buy a PC
1) Persona 4 runs great on PC, also they dont break as fast as your shitstation
2) Kek, loading times on PC are much less because the games are better optimized
Just admit it OP, you've made a huge mistake
Fucks sake can we have at least 1 thread without console war bullshit?
You can own a PC and a console at the same time, heck even multiple consoles, please stop
yeah that's true. at least the main characters have issues that can be related to.
Plus, I'd rather listen to Rise sniffing my semen all day than Marie not understanding what a tree is
>also they dont break as fast as your shitstation
False consoles last longer because they dont deal with all the extra processing and overhead PC deals with. Pound for Pound console hardware will always outperform PC hardware because console hardware is designed to do one ting for the longest time possible, that is play games.
My ps2 is still going strong where as the computer I built in 2010 has slowly succumbed to being close to inoperable due to the slowness after being on 24/7 while playing MMO's and online shooters 24/7 not to mention to terrbytes of porn that has flowed through the system, etc
Just ignore his kind.
In the end I bought:
-Final Fantasy Tactics
-Dino Crisis 1&2
-Breath of Fire 4
Already played Suikoden to death otherwise I would have bought that one too.
I bought Code: Realize, thanks for reminding me to check PSN op, the game was on sale for the first time too.
I need more lazy games and VN's to read, shit is mad fun for some reason lmao
>tfw no vita or ps3
god I want to replay Demon's Souls and play the Dangan Ronpas, but my roommates hog the 3 for Netflix so all I've got is the PS4.
I'll decide what to get when I get paid Friday.
Never checked origin sales so I have to ask, does cisquisition ever go this low on PC? I'd prefer to get it there but I'm trying to spend as little on that game as possible.
>buying Bioware games
All those gloriously shitty games
how come AU psn doesn't have half these fucking games? Especially titles like this? There are so many ps1 and psp titiles that are for some fuck reason missing from our god dammed store.
Fuck you Sony this why I use eCFW and emulate this instead of buying it.
I might buy Mass Effect Trilogy and I have one question.
Can I use my old save files from Mass Effect 2 to start on 3 immediately or will I have to play the whole trilogy if I want to import save files?
Thinking about getting
Child of Light
All for Vita for $38
What do ya think?
No its not, console hardware outperforms PC hardware every single time.
I cleaned my PC multiple times during the time I had it my PS2 is fucking beat up to hell and back and never one cleand the thing and it now still runs games fine runs them faster than my PC can emulate PS2 titles and I'm using a pretty decent GPU
Watchdogs is a mess and probably one of the largest disapointments in recent memory. Please don't.
Black Flag is my 2nd favorite AC tho. Definitely get that.
A PS3. Wider library, unless you REALLY want a PS4. If you want the most games possible, bet a 1st gen, because they're backwards compatible with PS2 games, though they break easy sometimes.
If you don't care about PS2 games, just get a used one on ebay for ~$100.
Then clearly the other guy was right and you need to do a fresh install of windows with how much garbage you said you put through it. If I could emulate PS2 games on a Core 2 Quad without issue then you have no excuse.
I used to be able to emulate wii games with HD texture packs, now I cant run ps2 isos even semi decently, my CPU is fine my computer just got hold and the hardware gave up. Sme thing with smartphones, people think having their $700 piece of tech on 24/7 and connected to the internet is going to last them 3 years kek, you'd be lucky to ge 3 years out of smartphones these days.
Consoles are incredibly optimized dedicated gaming platforms, if your aim is to play games for the longest time possible with close to zero problems consoles are bette than PC
If you want to play some games and miss out on half of them while maximizing performance on the ones you do get with multitasking, utility and also maximizing your workload for the shortest time possible, that's what PC is for.
PC is not a dedicated gaming platform and thus it fails to perform like one, just admit this.
Liked it very much too, but the second is GOAT. If you play 2 immediately after the first one it gets even better. Great underappreciated franchise. Too bad Konami sucks nowadays. So does Square by the way.
>I cleaned my PC multiple times during the time I had it my PS2 is fucking beat up to hell and back and never one cleand the thing and it now still runs games fine runs them faster than my PC can emulate PS2 titles and I'm using a pretty decent GPU
You do you realize that emulation is cpu bounded, that emulates mutiple times the compute power then what the PS2 does. It's not native performance, there is performance penalty emulating because it's translating proprietary software.
It also it doesn't matter that consoles outperformn PC at paper spec because PC hardware have mutiple times horsepower of your typical console anyway. John Carmack mention this, but everybody forget the second part.
It's a rather decent JRPG with some unique mechanics (party recruiting, military battles, etc.). But it also leads directly into Suikoden II, one of the best RPGs of all time.
Okay, I'll probably just buy the PS4 gamesI want from the sale and wait.
Slim vs Super slim? Are there any known problems with the disk slot for the latter?
This sale almost makes up for all the crappy holiday sales. This is sort of like one of those sales I see in my dreams.
Here's what I'm thinking
Dino Crisis 1
Dino Crisis 2
Child of Light is fucking amazing dude.
I have no idea what other anon is on but it's probably that new drug kids are doing called not actually playing the fucking game.
Worth $20 buy that shit.
108 Stars my friend
I did, and THAT's my favourite game of all time. This sale combines many of my favourite games for PS1. I mean
Symphony of the Night
Final Fantasy Tactics
Final Fantasy 7
Also Persona 4.
Like this anon>>323825239 said, for 10-20 bucks you get BEST OF PS1 basically.
>already playing FFVII and LoD on my vita
>now this sale
Sony pls, I only have so little time.
As far as I've heard from this thread it's
that have long loading times.
Another anon also said that if you Persona 4 you should pay attention to your save states.
The ones you mentioned seem to work fine.
I thought the PSN holiday sale was decent for what I got.
Beyond Two Souls
All for under a $100, which is great, because I'm in Canada and there is no way I can get those games without spending at least $200.
It's pretty obvious that you're OS has just gotten incredibly bloated due to how you use it. Components don't just age, when they go bad they do more than just slow things down, they become unstable, you get frequent crashes and errors and your whole system falls apart. A 3570 unless you've been overclocking it with the stock fan is not old enough for that to be happening. Or you could be thermal throttling.
No, all of those games don't show up on my PS4. I checked all though the account and shit and there is no option to download PS1 classics I own that I can play on my Vita.
Unless I'm being retarded.
I played through the second one twice.
The first one I just have not been able to get into.
It was a great game, I was a lot younger back then though.
I'd buy it if you like sci-fi.
>tfw PS3 is still being treated better than PS4
ME1 comes with the one DLC it got for consoles.
Mass Effect 2 comes with the Cerberus Pack/DLCs requiring it (including the comic), Lair of the Shadow Broker, Overlord, and Kasumi.
ME3 doesn't come with anything.
Fuck, ME3 is the only one I haven't played and it comes with nothing? Wasn't there a DLC that essentially fixed the ending? Fuck that. I'm not paying for it unless I get the DLC included.
Thanks to this I got Persona 4, Mega Man 9 and 10, and Parasite Eve.
My friend who's a huge RPG nerd said P.E. plays like a modified RE3 but I don't know what that means since I've never played any of the RE games.
Anyone have tips as to what that is or the game in general?
