We did, anon.
We created it.
We created it when we told publishers we'd be happy to pay for unfinished, unreleased games.
We created it when we told publishers we'd love to stand in line for a midnight release.
We created it when we bought the same "GOTY" version of every game with maybe a new map and character skin.
We created it when we bought them before.
This is the world YOU and I have made for ourselves, OP.
Are you happy?
I'm fucking not.
I very rarely by games on release. It's cheaper to wait and better because they'll fix the game by the time you play it. I've waited months to buy a game and they still had "Day 1" packaging left. Don't blame me with your "we" bullshit for being an impatient impulse buyer.
Anybody who says they've never bought into some hype train and allowed a video game developer/publisher/retailer to jew them with a preorder bonus or a GOTY edition is a filthy liar.
The healing can start when you take responsibility for this mess.
I didn't lie, I did pre-order games when I was younger. It was still in times when the only pre-order bonus you might have gotten was a t-shirt with a shit print or if you were lucky a poster.
Never pre-ordered a game that had DLC as pre-order bonus though, I either always pirated those or waited for Ultimate Whatever Edition, which usually was cheaper and patched.
>people think big publishers are the worse
Think again, small publishers are fucking Jews. Case in point: Distant Worlds.
Paid more than 100 bucks to buy the game with all expansions when it was a small game just being sold on the Matrix shop.
Then they do a steam release with all the expansions for 60$. And I don't get a key. And they stop supporting the classic version and only patch the Steam one now.
So now I got to pay 60$ just for a bugfix patch.
Any Day 1 nonsense I've bought has been months after the game released and I've never actually used the Day 1 content. It's always some ugly weapon skins or some dumb bonus level for a single player game that gives you overpowered items and ruins the pacing of the story.
I think they intentionally make the standard edition cover shitty as to entice you to get the collectors edition.
collectors editions never have that crap and are in most cases extra clean on the cover.
>stop taking video games so seriously
No one here is. The only thing people here are taking seriously are the buisnesses who are absolutely intent on nickel and diming their customers for every penny they have, and people buy into that stupidity en masse.
>live in Puerto Rico
>all stores closing and leaving including gamestop
>power will be cut for the whole island in a couple of months because of debts
>USA will kick us out
>I will never play Dark Souls 3
UH OH PEOPLE ARE CATCHING ON TO THE FACT THE WE RELEASE OVERPRICED DLC (up to 50% of the full game's price, for 10% of content) 3 MONTHS AFTER RELEASE, MAKING YOUR INITIAL PURCHASE WORTHLESS, THEN RE-RELEASE THE GAME IN 6 MONTHS, MAKING ALL OF THEM WHO BOUGHT THE DLC SEPARATELY FEEL LIKE IDIOTS
BETTER COME UP WITH A "DAY ONE EDITION" IT'S REALLY SPECIAL GUYS AND TOTALLY NOT A SCAM WE PROMISE PLEASE BUY IT ON DAY ONE
Fuck From, Sony and Bamco and the entire industry.
that keychain looks like shit, what's up that big fucking lump of garbage on it
it should just be a flaming bonfire-poker-sword thing
>prima guide that becomes outdated after the first major patch, probably less than a month after release
>might even be outdated on the day of release since the jap version comes out early
>using a guide on your first playthrough in a DS game in the first place
google brazillian method, its the only thing currently working but not worth it imo
I'm waiting for proper cfw to go live, it shoudn't be long now, just make sure to not update your ps4 in case sony tries to keep you locked out of it
>Sony and not Xbox
>Xbone had, not only DOE games, but a fucking console with "Day One Edition" on the fucking controller
Xbox started all this shit. Halo popularized having paid DLC for maps, Xbox started the day one shit, and they STILL TAKE BATTERIES FOR THEIR FUCKING CONTROLLER GOD DAMN FUCK YOU MICROSOFT!
Sony just started the "Comfortable controller that breaks after 2 fucking months" and Nintendo started the "Innovative motion control that nobody wants or likes using" shit.
>mfw From Software said Dark Souls 2 wouldn't have DLC or preorder bonuses because they were embarrassed and sad about Dark Souls 1 being incomplete
>it ended up with 10x more jewish cancer than Dark Souls 1
>DaS3 is looking even worse
this is the future you chose
This is the cover. OPs image is the slip case for the day one edition.
Holy shit, are you saying a simple One Piece game was actually the first to start this shit?
I bought that game on release because it was my first experience with day one edition shit and I didn't want to miss out, not knowing they'd be available months later.
Play on a laptop in bed with a wireless controller, or hook up your PC via HDMI to your TV. I have a laptop capable of running it on med/high, so I'll have the comfiest experience of all.
>“For Dark Souls 2, we don’t even expect any additional downloadable content because we want to deliver a full game, the full experience, to fans who purchase the package from day one. We did do additional content for Dark Souls, but generally downloadable content for Dark Souls II is not really being considered. Buy the package and you’ll get the full experience, and you’ll have as much fun as anybody else. Spending a couple dollars on certain items does not help the experience. So no free-to-play yet!”
ooh, thank god, I thought he meant THIS yellow cover
Sony was a company. They didn't do nothing.
-DeS is a complete game with no DLC or pre-order bonuses
-Bloodborne is a complete game with a single excellent value high quality DLC, no season pass
-No pre-order bonus bar a messenger skin if you bought it from EB-games; which is literally nothing
-GOTY edition comes out the same day with the DLC cheaper if you don't own it yet
-DaS is an unfinished game with one short DLC; more expensive than the Old Hunters was
-Prepare to Die edition releases, full price on PC despite being a 1:1 port of the console version
-DaS2 comes out a low budget title made by a substitute team
-Three DLC's, Season pass
-Pre-order bonuses include unique weapons
-Delay the PC version so people buy it twice for maximum money
-Re-release the game months later with minimal changes for full price again
I think we've found the Jews
>not day zero
It's like you don't to play the game at the perfect moment.
>Day we never planned on finishing it edition
He's exaggerating, I live here too and it's for certain sectors and only intermittently. The problem actually has a rather simple solution but unionized workers are cancer and won't allow it.
GameStop closing days before DSIII is a bitch though. Will have to pre-order online and pray that it arrives on time
I suppose, but the reveal (and who it was tied to) were perfect.
It makes perfect sense to have Lidwig's Holy Blade foreshadow the Holy Moonlight Sword, and for such an important character like Ludwig to have such an impactful moment.
They dead cause we gamer said fuck you. but the day one edition and goty edition are probably here to stay cause people keep pre ordering and buying crap games day one. i buy early copies from that crack dealer two blocks down
>tfw PC will never get a collector's edition because lol digital game
