>Hotline Miami 2 editor is finally released
>Nobody is talking about it
Was this truly the meme game of the year?
Seriously guys, start caring about this game again.
HM2 feels like it was made because the devs felt it was like an obligation to make it to appease their fans after the huge success of the first game.
It's a good game but not even close to the first.
>Fallout 2 is amazing. What the fuck are you talking about? It's nothing like this turd.
It's also Fallout3 of the classic Fallout games.
Instead of building on post-post-apo it spends too much time on zany 50s sci-fi and pop-culture.
Fallout was dark as shit. Fallout 2 had to lighten the tone, but it was still plenty dark. It knew when to switch tone and was good at it.
Fallout 1 is better than Fallout 2 narrative wise no doubt, but Fallout 2 is no slouch. It has so much more to do and all of the content is really well done for the most part.
From a pure gameplay perspective, Hotline Miami 2 was a fantastic sequel. It upped the difficulty a ton (git gud casuals, no Karma achievement) as well as offering different types of gameplay with varied characters.
From a story perspective, however, it's all fucked and stupid. There's so many plot lines going on and in the end, none of them fucking matter. It's just a waste of time.
The gameplay was awful though. It became about peeking and using door glitches to avoid being overrun by a dozen off-screen enemies, and killing people hidden behind glass windows half a mile away.
Maybe because some hallways featured long passages, but Hotline Miami 1 could be played the very same way. You shouldn't have had much trouble as long as you kept your hand on the SHIFT key.
>as well as offering different types of gameplay with varied characters.
Except it didn't you retard
All of the characters were either rehashed (Beard being a worse version of Biker) or non-existent (Richter doesn't have a single special ability that I can remember)
>tfw my government still won't let me buy it.
I only just recently picked it up.
Will this editor be available for consoles? I got it on Vita.
It was an okay game, I am just a casual that plays anything and not a giant fan. I enjoyed the story of HM1, where as HM2 it was okay at points but overall i really missed those edgy phone calls with the hit details, playing as multiple characters sort of ruined it for me. The gameplay was alright, but too many guns, an option for melee only would have been fun. The hard mode was also bullshit with them just reversing the map, literally felt like a chore doing everything again with little difference.
it's not, and I wanted a fully working editor (not beta one) to show them how it should have been a normal story about the fans, instead of a nihilistic pretentious bullshit with shitty characters like the baldie and the mafia guy
>Corey best girl
You're damn right.
>Planned raids for hours on end, must be clever and dedicated to surviving instead of rushing in blindly
>Ottermode muscle build required for Roll Dodge
>Concept art proves she had at least C sized tits from the lack of body armor
>Changes from being a huge dick to caring the most about her friends
>Miami Dolphins were dominating hard in early 90s, knows her sports as well as fashion >Best mask and animal
>Crawled back to Tony and Mark in pain after being shot in the gut
>Tony can be seen holding her head up and grieving for her after Deathwish, implying they had a close relationship
>She probably convinced Tony to try to live what's left of his life to the fullest and bled out right before Pardo entered
That's why normies here hated HM2 so much. Normies can't into feels.
I agree with this. In HM 2 you're forced to use different masks for various levels and have to switch up your strategies a bit while in HM I just played Tony in every level because he was superior to the rest, except when forced to play biker in the final level.
But yeah HM2 had a shit story, it was so meaningless and forgettable that I barely remember anything from it. The final drug sequence was pretty cool though tbqh
>yet again normie couldn't understand what I meant
It's impossible to explain feels to people like this
If you think spouting catchphrases/memes is an explanation then alright.
But my point was different, if you tout "feels" as something that excuses faulty gameplay then you're no better than artsy fartsy "it's about the experience" folk. Entitled to their opinion, but ultimately irrelevant in discussion.
>it's a i couldn't play as easy mode Tony the whole game that's why i think HM2 gameplay is shit episode
Nah, it's a I don't like shooting galleries in my HM episode.
That's why playing a "pacifist" journalist was the best part of the game.
They even included straight-up shooter levels, why corrode rest of the game with it?
