That OP's a faggot. Post Rosetta.
How is she Nintendo's lightning if people actually like her? To be a Lightning you must be a character that no one but the creators like and yet you keep getting games, as a lead to boost.
It's also weird because the same people who complain about Rosalina having recurring appearances were previously begging Nintendo to not make her into another Daisy, getting thrown into spinoffs and never getting any attention again.
Fucking Smash. Where did it all go so wrong?
Roster faggotry, seriously. It stopped being about just seeing Mario duke it would with Link or fucking Solid Snake to people and starting being seeing who can be thrown into the big advertisement fighter who will be left out and BTFO.
When Sonic and Snake were added. That expanded the scope of the game's target group from Nintendo fans to everyone. That's why Smash 4 announcements saw an influx of shitposting to a degree never seen before.
I'd actually agree with this. At least with Melee, there was mostly characters we'd expect to be thrown in (Marth and Roy aside, but even they were welcome additions and helped introduced the West to Fire Emblem). Brawl was a completely different ballgame all together. Snake and Sonic introduced, people would argue who should be in and who shouldn't, some would be upset certain characters weren't announced right away, etc.
Brawl was when people realized Smash would become a regular thing, and at that point, it was "you're either a character I want or a wasted slot." Many characters were introduced for the sake of advertising (like Lucas for Mother 3 in Japan, though you could make a similar argument for Roy). Character interactions too, since even though they were neat, this introduced the thought of mashing all these characters together in a big universe. It was just one giant mess.
I still like the series, but the fanbase explodes if Sakura so much confirms a new hat.
And the damage Brawl did never went away. I'm not doing this again with Smash Five. Let Sakurai put in whoever he wants, I'm done.
The music was top notch, though. I'll give Brawl that.
I miss when Smash was just a simple fanservice game about Nintendo characters fighting each other. Now it's a blatant marketing vehicle where 3rd parties are permitted to add their characters if they suck up to Nintendo enough.
I really hate how much sense this makes.
>No Pauline in sight
Space whore claims another Mario girl
>Corrin was just the latest in a list of characters blatantly shoved in for marketing purposes.
Not him but name characters shoved in for marketing purposes and why. Yes some of them are, but not all of them.
>DLC locked by an Amiibo that's out of print
>Amiibo that was hard to find because assmad Daisy fags bought them in bulk to destroy them
B R A V O
N I N T E N D O ! ! !
>still no new MvDK that plays like the first/DK94
The difference is every other character existed before game came out in Smash 64. Same goes with Melee. Except for Roy, whose game came out months later.
Not the original poster, but he has a point.
>most recognizable character from the company's most recognizable franchise, may as well be the mascot if they aren't already
Probably either Slimes, Chocobos, or Cloud Strife.
No. It means a character is pushed by a company as the hot shit, despite it not having the fan support behind it.
Like they tired to insist that Lightning was going to be the greatest thing since Cloud. And how they kept pushing Lightning's image so much, before the game even came out. And then when it game came out, and there were a lot of mixed reactions toward her, they still pretended like she was the best thing ever.
Similarly, Rosalina is being pushed as one of the main 4 cast Members of Mario now. They're really trying to make her into a star.(no pun intended) But the fan reaction prior to the push was mixed. And the fan receptions after the push is still mixed. Like, if Rosalina was put back on the bench as a side character, no one would give a shit. Except the hardcore wiafufags. The fans aren't clamoring for Rosalina as much as Nintendo is trying to push her.
Frig off OP, Rosalina is the miracle of Nintendo.
Wrong, retard. It's the other way around, Nintendo is putting her in more games due to the fan response. The closest thing to "Nintendo's Lightning" is the yellow Dog from Animal Crossing, and even then that thing is popular among fans too.
>Most notably, it appears that it will be available as a free download for those who purchase an amiibo after that date via a special voucher given from retailers.
Right there in the article
Do foreign Amiibos work for games? I recently moved back to Germany and there's a fucking Bonanza of them down at Media Markt. I'm gonna pick up a Little Mac and WFT regardless.
>Chao Garden but with Lumas
>Raise Lumas until they get old enough to become planets and stars
>Take care of the planets and customize them
>Eventually you have whole galaxies
She's only considered to be Nintendo's Lightning now because Miyamoto and company haven't bothered expanding the Mario mythos in over a decade save for Nabbit.
Basically what I'm trying to say is that Petey Piranha was Nintendo's Lightning durings the 00's.
He already said Nintendo m8. And that's not even the most forced character in that game.
Toon Link isn't forced into anything except the handheld games.
I wouldn't even argue it's forced there either because it's the best choice for the low powered hardware like the DS and 3DS, because it takes less to render him over a realistic Link.
It's not the best choice. It's Aonuma's choice.
>Upon returning from E3, I heard from my staff that the DS was hardware was capable of supporting toon-shading. I immediately asked my staff to implement cel-shading on the DS because I was disappointed that the cel-shaded Zelda was not received as well as I had hoped.
>cel-shaded Zelda was not received well
>I immediately asked my staff to implement cel-shading on the DS
He was right though, Nintendogs acted like litte bitches back then.
We the fans of Zelda plead to you to realize that not all Zelda fans are kids, nor do we all enjoy your new animated/anime designs. Seeing as you have shown both a mature and a cartoon graphical Zelda, we ask that both be made and released worldwide.
The people who have signed this petition are not nessicarily saying that they are not looking forward to the cartoon graphical Zelda game, but we would appreciate a Zelda game resembling the Spaceworld 2000 demo.
The original petition race.
It's the best choice technologically and aesthetically, because the DS couldn't handle realistic games without it looking like a vomit of pixels and block models.
There's a reason all the RPGs on it used chibi characters, and most games were styled aesthetically.
I'm not saying Aonuma didn't force it but it ended up being the best choice for the console.
>At one point, I had heard that even Wind Waker, which had reached the million mark in sales, had become sluggish in North America, where the market was much healthier than in Japan. I asked NOA why this was. What I was told was that the toon-shading technique was, in fact, giving the impression that this Zelda was for a younger audience and that, for this reason, it alienated the upper teen audience that had represented the typical Zelda player.
>without it looking like a vomit of pixels and block models.
Protip, the Phantom Hourglass and Spirit Tracks look like pixelated vomit too. Link went from kind of cute to having the downs.
>games that look like this look great! fuck designing a game around a system's limits, give me realism even if it looks like a PS1 game!
So how many copies of Ironfall Invasion have you preordered?
Introducing Mario's newest sensation, Blocky the Cube.
