I hear a lot of good things about Yakuza 5. Is it worth jumping on with this game if I haven't played the previous ones?
You should play the whole series, you're doing a disservice to yourself by skipping most of it. Specifically, 5 doesn't give you a review of the previous games either, like all the other games do.
If you're lazy, you may as well start with 4. And as bad as the plot of 4 is, at least it doesn't have the pacing issues 5 has.
I guess Zero + Kiwami will become the new starting point for the series?
You know how a lot of people start threads with
>want to play game x
I feel like Y5 is this. It seems like there is a "y part" for everybody. You may like taxi stuff, but then there's hunting, you may like hunting, but then there's the idol part, you may like the idol part, but then there's something else you have to play through at least a bit. It's great that there's so much content, but the pacing man...
I don't know if i have it in me to play through 5 again
I don't really understand. If you play story only there's very few of hunting\taxi\idol\baseball stuff. You just go two or three times hunting with Okudera and just dance two or three times with Haruka (and you don't even have to win with her), so there's nothing really forcing you to play these parts. Do it if you enjoy it or just rush through it if you don't it wont take much time.
>thought he would betray me the first chance he'd get
>turns into top tier aniki
>Rikiya and Shinji levels
Shinada's chapter was the best part. Surprised he ranks so low in popularity
But then we already would have know about Daigo and where he was.
I think one way of fixing that, and making the game more interesting to play through, is making you not play a chapter with only one character. Make you change characters more oftenly.
Reminder to use R1 + X to skip regular text, although when there are animations it doesn't work.
Shinada's chapter pisses me off because it relies on Shinada being poor and unable to earn money. Then you start beating up thugs and end up more than enough money to pay his shit off by the end of chapter 2.
The problem is, while he is a fun guy, he isn't that important to the plot. In fact, if it wasn't for his boss being nagged by that Omi Alliance 7th chairman he would have no reason to go to Tokyo and thus helping making a dream yet not Haruka following up by quitting right on stage and destroying that feeling of others who don't have a dream of their own to have hope which was what was being preached throughout the game.
Oh I know, I hated that as well, but his importance and disconnection to the plot hurt the game and its finale with him just being there. Without that hostess club I never would have felt even an ounce of camaraderie with him there.
Yeah I mean I love the character, just wished he was more important and they did a better job building up the relationship between the characters. He just drops by Akiyama's place and when Kiryu asks him who he is later, he just goes "Huh? Oh yeah! Uh, he's an acquaintance by chance, meet Shinada, an ex pro base ball player."
And that was it, Kiryu even thought he was a schmuck for some reason though changed his opinion of him.
I second >>323686415, either emulate from 1 or start with 4 (which includes movie digests from 1-2-3)
I'm too lazy to make better quality version.
It's in game files.
For my research of course.
Using file manager or ftp client. Only possible for cfw master race though.
>And then Kazuma trusts him with Haruka's life.
The reason given was that Kiryu would "stand out too much" wandering around at the stadium + Shinada already knew his way around the place
a bit weak but it's something
Yakuza threads are more active during euro hours
but essentially, yeah it's just not that popular a franchise really
>Are we going to get Usagi Drop'd
I don't think it'd even make that big a difference from how things currently are if they go that route
they're basically an old married couple since 3, staying up late talking about what the kids were up to all day and shit
Most people suggest you absolutely should, as 2 is incredible.
If you cant emulate it or cant buy it, just start with 3. Its the weakest in the series (at least for the English release), but it has a recap of 1 and 2.
