Disney actually seems to REALLY like Knights of the Old Republic.
Hopefully, they'll either make it canon or at least bring all the good stuff back in their new canon EU.
>Disney actually seems to REALLY like Knights of the Old Republic
Yeah they love to steal ideas from it to pad out their movie and rebel series for kids just after proclaiming everything is non canon.
It's pure necromancy and equally evil.
Because canon material gets expanded on through games, comics, shows and maybe even movies?
The old Legends EU is pretty much dead in the water and SWTOR is literally the only Legends material that is actually being given new content.
Is there anything left to rape from KOTOR considering how they treated characters from it in TOR? They completely missed the point of Revan and Kreia which are babies first Ayn Rand characters to begin with so they aren't that complex.
You think all those novel and comic writers got a cut from the check they wrote to lucas? You think bioware just got a fat check for all the shit they used for Rebels?
This fat fuck is the only guy who benefited at all from the Disney acquisition.
When you sell your house, do you give the construction workers who built it a percentage of the final sale?
Those writers and artists were paid by Lucas to make him a novel or a comic or a game or whatever, but that doesn't mean they own the product.
I know those are the old KOTOR-era Republic cruisers, but what's the context of your pic?
they couldve left KOTOR stuff canon since it doesnt impact the movies in any ways, but no, gotta make sure theres nothing in the way when you make Star Wars Origins Trilogy once the sequel trilogy is wrapped up.
It hurts being a star wars fan these days
i want them to make canon kotor 1 and 2
but no SWTOR because what they did to Revan is pic related
What was the greatest loss from Disney's acquisition and why was it pic related?
The loss of Kyle fucking Katarn.
As a director? Maybe. Lucas hates directing, he never wanted to direct the prequels even, people just kept turning him down and giving bullshit responses like "you should do it yourself George, believe in yourself bruh" thinking they were helping him out like it was some faggy anime or some shit.
But Lucas is still a valuable creative asset, they should have let him work with a team to refine his ideas, that's what made the OT great. And that's what Lucas thought was going to happen, but Disney basically lied to him and just completely ignored him and locked him out of the project.
Now Star Wars is worse than ever because it has only slightly better direction but absolutely zero creativity or passion behind it.
>But Lucas is still a valuable creative asset
>1950s space dinner
>TFA basically transposed jedi outcast's plot
>former jedi apprentice desann turns dark side and very nearly annihilates all his former peers via imperial remnant
>still no katarn as casual, laidback, witty jedi master
I dunno mang, this guy is actually very close to Katarn
His waifu even has the same VA as Jan Ors
We can't have fun things in star wars.
>tfw Lucas got NTRed out of Episode 7
>I wanted to make a family soap opera
But they did. Guess he hasn't seen the movie yet
>Being this uninformed
>He didn’t necessarily want to direct them. He told me he had talked to Robert Zemeckis, Steven Spielberg, and me. I was the third one he spoke to. They all said the same thing: ‘George, you should do it’ I don’t think anybody wanted to follow-up that act at the time. It was an honor, but it would’ve been too daunting.
Nobody said that George didn't make mistakes, but you faggots have to acknowledge that George is responsible for a lot of the great things about SW, either through having a straight up great idea, or an idea that was retarded that he worked with others to refine into something good.
In no particular order
>Incredibly potent force user
>not a stiff like most master Jedi up until theb
>one of the more fleshed out characters in the EU up until SWTOR decided fanservice was more important
His design in Kotor 1 was cool, and Kotor 2 made him out to be a mysterious morally grey badass that you only heard about in bits and pieces, never really given a clear idea about what exactly he was up to, making him almost mythical to set up us going to find him in Kotor 3.
Then TOR came out and flushed that all down the shitter and Revan was really just space Anders with a receding hairline who was a massive failure, no plan, and who exists to job to the new gary stu emperor in order to let the player character gary stu jedi knight class save the universe according to prophecy. Instead of going into unknown space to do something cool and interesting, it turns out he just got owned and spends his days being a force battery for lord voldemort.
Isn't the republic commando game non canon but their cameo in the clone wars cartoon canon? It's all just a big mess.
KOTOR 1 & 2 HD remake. That will make the good games canon and the abominable shit turd MMO can stay not canon. Plus we get two great games that everyone always wanted to see HD.
Wasn't there some BS about him now being two entitys and one of them is crazy and the other one is light side? Then the emperor shows up and got some "destroy the entire universe" plan?
At this point I don't have the energy to care anymore. Revan was only ever interesting when he was enigmatic but that's completely gone now. Now he's just generic and boring, other Darths are more interesting.
Kotor 2 won't ever be canon, anon. SWTOR will be canon long before they will since it's still a cash cow.
Complete with voice acting, Revan and The Exile having preset looks, and a slue of shit.
If KotOR1/2 become canon so does TOR by the way. EA makes it and Disney/EA have a partnership for Star Wars games until 2020.
The Republic stopped advancing in technology after awhile. It wasn't until the CIS that they started to advance again with the Death Star and eventually a far larger Star Forge with the Starkiller.
There is actually a good reason for the tech differences between the PT and OT in that while the Galactic Senate was still going on they halted all production of the majority of weapons, armor, ships, etc. because it was too costly seeing as how they weren't in war. Which seems to carry over for the most part into the ST with TFA in that the First Order is building up massive amounts of tech and funds to combat the Republic, while the Republic is now two splinter factions, the main Republic with all the funds and money doing fuck all like always and the Resistance with no money still trying to fight back with Rebellion weaponry.
It's canon, it was also very good.
