>opening cutscene talks about how there are no dragons left
>enter undead parish
>a dragon flies over
Fucked that cunt last night, fuck his first fight up the ass though, I got super lucky and backed into the leftmost arena corner where I had time to figure out what the fuck was going on
kalameet took place in the past but that time is still after all the dragons died off so he still counts as a survivor
apparently in his bigass library he read somewhere that scales are what make dragons immortal and he went insane because he didnt have any scales. Even though he was already immortal at that point because he got the Lord Soul from Gwyn
so he's not only gay, he's also literally retarded
all much easier than seathe. His curse lock and the fact that it's hard as shit to jump over his tails plus the swipe all make him a bitch
I thought he knew about scales and immortality during the war with dragons, which made him pissy. Whatever, that faggot will get whats coming to him.
Scales of Immortality make Dragons invulnerable. Like the one in Ash Lake. Dragons are naturally immortal (immune to age and disease) but without scales can be killed via weapons etc. Gwyn somehow found some way to unscale them when he fought them in the past.
>This axe, one of the rare dragon weapons,
is formed by the tail of the Gaping Dragon,
a distant, deformed descendant of the
>distant, deformed descendant
are you kidding me? I went into that fight having heard it was impossibly hard and muh artificial difficultly
it would have been hard if the boss reset every time you died, but all you had to do was
>hit left glowing orb
>hit right glowing orb
>jump into middle root
so fucking easy
I don't think it's even reasonable to classify BoC as easy or hard, because it's not even really a boss. There's some very easy methods which can barely even be classified as cheesing, and the most obvious method just involves some really awkward platforming that doesn't even really belong in the game.
That faggot Seath should have just gone there instead of betray his own race, grind some wyverns. What a retard
it's worse. You can use the orb's hut as a safe haven to channel homeward bone in. Then all you do is run in and repeat twice and the boss is dead.
the devs likely understood it was a pispoor shit fight and nerfed her so as to make the game bearable and not make players rage quit.
You sorta can also rationalize it because it's chaos, a fake flame, and thus not sharing the same properties of the first flame: because the first flame makes zombies, the fake flame is limited to spawning demons.
His insanity comes from something he learned in one of the books. If you leave Big Hat Logan in the library long enough he finds it too and goes equally insane.
I'm guessing it's probably the truth about the dark souls prophecy and the age of dark. Seath's experiments in immortality are probably a desperate attempt at preventing being wiped out by the end of the world.
So he is basically just scared. I always thought Seath was one of the most tragic characters in the game. Gwyn basically took advantage of his self-loathing to turn him against his own kind, and now he's alone desperately trying to stop his own demise.
Nah he's just a faggot, a blind, albino, flightless, retarded, faggot.
Since this is a lore thread, can someone explain the basics of the Souls world?
Why is the world fucked up?
Is the entire world fucked up or are things business as usual in the rest of the world?
The way I understand the Dragon Lore is that there are 3 steps to their immortality.
1) Natural Longevity
2) There everlasting scales. Stone armor that protects them from damage.
3) The Primordial Crystal. An artifact that quickly heals any damage to their scales or skin.
The world is fucked up because the games take place at the end of an age of fire.
The rest of the world is actually probably pretty normal and peaceful, except for the undead scourge
Seattle ain't got no scales, he's a pussy not a dragon. The Ash Lake dragon was just well hidden when shit went down. That leaves, what, one dragon?
One KalaNEET of what used to be hundreds of dragons is pretty much no dragons at all.
Gwyn started the Age of Fire by igniting the first flame. The flame is now going out, ushering in an age of darkness. From the DLC we can infer that the Age of Darkness isn't going to be good for mankind but we're assured that it's a natural part of the world regardless.
Gwyn, in desperation, burnt his soul on the fire to artificially extend its life. Now it's going out again and, in the outside world, humans find themselves with mysterious brands and immortality. This is known as the Darksign. These humans are exiled to Lordran because people fear them going hollow and fucking shit up. In Lordran they are given the mission of becoming the Chosen Undead and giving up their life to continue to prolong the age of fire like Gwyn did.
There's only one real dragon in DaS2, that's a live. That one is Sinh, you encounter the real Ancient Dragon in the memories of that crystal formation in Frejya's arena and get it's soul. The things in Dragon Aerie are drakes
Nothing's changed because the world is in a time loop. People keep throwing themselves on the fire to buy a little more time and meanwhile countless civilisations rise and fall.
I disagree, in my view Lord Soul does not make you immortal, look at any Lord Soul holders.
Seath is just a mutated and messed up dragon betrayed probably because he was different exiled or something.
The crystal research is how Seath is trying to imitate the scales of dragons to become immortal and everlasting.
The Ancient Dragon in Dragon Shrine is just a creation of Aldia, its the corpse of the real Ancient Dragon you see dead in the memories. Its reanimated using the Soul of a Giant, how do I know this? I played the game and listened to the dialogue.
you mean to compare with a corrupted human, not a undead human...we are not talking about dracoliches.
Gaping dragon is a corrupted dragon, still one in no shape of one. Like a deformed human. Complain to the creator or the translator, dunno.
I know Dark Souls lore is not "in your face" and that it's up to the player to discover it and make something out of it, bud did you not pay basic attention?
Hellkite dragon is actually just a very big drake. The shitty version of a dragon
The scale is what make them immortal. Gwyn won the war because Seath told him you could get rid of the scales by hitting them with lighting really hard.
The primordial crystal is the result of Seath's experiment.
Depends if you count their resurrections in Dark Souls 2 as being them. Stuff like the Rotten is clearly the second coming of Nito and even drops his soul but the actual Nito is long gone.
For example the Manscorpions talk about Seath having died and left them behind while a mad duke who is obsessed with transformation still very much exists.
Would it be plausible to say the crystal slab on Freja's room you use the ashen mist heart on is Seath, or at least his remains? I always figured you were going into his memory when he and Gwyn tag teamed against the dragons.
Why do people think Lordran and Drangleic are the same? They're nothing alike. Unless there's a timespan of millions of years between 1 and 2 that's impossible. And even then, mountains don't just disappear.
I just checked the description for the hellkite dragon, and it apparently defines it as a drake even with the wings.
I guess source materials define the types of dragon differently.
