Prove him wrong.
>protip you can't
Hotline Miami 2 Wrong Number did nothing wrong
inb4 muh glass
inb4 muh big areas
inb4 muh fucking nonsense story
My favorite part about Hotline Miami 2 was the part where i died because i was too retarded to have basic understanding of the game, so i shitposted about it on an anonymous imageboard.
being incapable if adapting usually mean that you have a low iq
I like how i saw the beginning of both of these ebin memes. Seeing them taking off is quite something, don't you think?
he is right
people disliekd HM2 because it was hard.
Look at the press reviews, nobody has valid arguments for why its bad. They just dock points because they died and its "frustrating"
>mfw only have to finish hardmode to get achievement whore on HLM2
> tfw got every achievement
No time was ever wasted. Shit was great.
Level design was objectively worse. They came up with new playstyles, but weren't good enough to make the levels fit all of them like they did in HM1. Their answer to this was to force you into certain playstyles for certain levels, something the first game never did outside of two boss fights, an escape level, and a bonus mode in the story
What do you think of the spin-off that is coming out this year?
>Enemies are fast and can kill you quickly
>Enemies with guns can nearly instantly kill you
dangerous, gotta approach them in a specific way
>Enemies with guns can instantly turn and shoot you, including from offscreen, with perfect accuracy which you dont have on pistols
>Enemies with guns have a 200 degree field of vision with which to instant turn and shoot you
that's not cool
>Enemies with guns with said field of vision and instant death who don't move and cover all lines of sight when you only have a melee weapon
Don't mind me, just posting the best song from the game.
There is nothing wrong with hm2's linear style.
Choosing masks in hm1 barely made play style difference. Ethier that or they were forgettable.
Character variety>>>>>> masks
HM was great as on the fly you could figure out a level and tackle in in loads of different ways while going fast. This mixed with the sound track made an amazing atmosphere
HM2 ruined this with the focus on gunplay. You could deal with the bad AI in one as the game let you experiment, but in 2 you have to take it all slow so enemies being dumb fucks became boring. It encouraged people who played the first game super lame to keep doing that, it turned into neo peepo
How is getting killed by something offscreen a mistake? There's nothing you can do about it on your first play. A mistake implies you had control over your failure, but that's not the case here.
i'm not even arguing about HM2 here, this shit applies to other games as well. Being killed by something you simply can not predict or prepare for is not a mistake, it's trial and error. That's not good game design.
Listen to this on Spotify and don't forget to wear headphones. The drop will fucking destroy you anon
The soldier missions felt like a chore and I disliked the lack of masks.
>tfw got A+/S rating on Hard levels
best thing was keeping Dead Ahead for the last chapter and ranked S, shit was cash
I liked both.
HM2 was a worthy successor and isn't a bad game, but the first game is better.
HM2 was harder but for all the wrong reasons
He is right.
I played HM1 and HM2 like a month apart form each other and to my experience they both felt pretty much the same but HM2 was significantly better because of the hardmode. The game actually felt challenging for the first time in hardmode and you couldn't just breeze through the levels and I find it really hard to believe that people actually had problems with the normal mode. Are people really that bad?
then don't respond.
if someone's shitposting and you don't like it, don't give them the satisfaction of getting a reply. Just ignore it. Hide and report if you think it's bad enough.
>mfw I did that one level with those 4 kids, playing as each one, and the game crashed at the rooftop
>mfw I did that one soldier level with like 6 different areas (I forget the name) and the game crashed at the end
Fuck the bugs.
I think the difference between both games has to do more with playthroughs and expectations.
In Hotline Miami 1 you could go relatively fast through most of the levels, it felt more about reactions on the fly than learning the layout.
It had more "flow", per se, so you're going to enjoy the first playthrough more.
But in Hotline Miami 2, the difficulty is harder, and most of the process to beating it comes from learning the map layout.
That's why 2 has a better second playthrough in my opinion, when you already know most of the levels and it's more about comboing the fuck out of them than beating them
do you really think letting someone know it upsets you is going to help though?
If I was shitposting and just throwing "cuck cuck cuck" around everywhere, seeing people say it was annoying would just fuel me further. Think, anon.
>there's a Tony section where literally the only solution is to poke your head out for a split second so the guy at the window will seesyou and runs out to come fight
>only then can you punch him
>any attempt to run into the room yourself gets you shot 100%
>mfw playing the part in the casualties chapter where you go inside the facility as the soldier in hardmode
>HM2 came out
>Lots of hype around it, and discussion
>But after awhile it faded out and we just have the occasional thread like this
Some levels were absolute travesties due to glass, off screen bullshit and a lot of the stages just going on way too long. There was also issues with the story being almost written as a fuck you to people who liked the first game. I think it's perfectly reasonable to dislike the game based on these things.
Before you call me an autistic nigger for getting all the achievements in a game I hate, I still enjoyed the game - the gameplay felt a lot tighter than HM1, it's just a shame the level design was fucking atrocious at times.
C O R E Y

Holy fuck yes. I love this song. Thanks anons
of course not, but the solution is still stupid. You literally have to poke your head out so the guy will come over while you wait for him around a corner. It's stupid and slows the game down a lot, and is really indicative of how the rest of the game plays out.
You don't have to necessarily wait around a corner if you do it the midst of killing everyone and in the cases where theres no other way it really doesn't take that much for the guy to come.
Am I saying it's a good thing? No, but it isn't as bad as some people make it out to be.
This is why tony is the worst fan. He literally slows down the game because he can't respond to guns as well. It's also why Corey is probably the best fan. Simple movements, a free damage dodge and the ability to shoot enemies.
Corey > Alex and Ash > Mark > Tony
