...What's your excuse, /v/...?
Should I play awakening first? Heck should I play the first game first?
The only FE I ever played is the one with girl with china dress/tunic, and that I lose progress in the beginning
>that feek when you downloaded most recent 3DS games via CFW
>Legend of Legacy
>Labyrinth no Kanata
>Pokemon Super Mystery Dungeon
I have no idea where I should even start.
No, you can pick pretty much any one of them up and play except for the ones that are sequels/prequels of each other but that's just a story thing.
No, if you want to know Marth's games play the remakes. FE1 didn't age that well.
3 missions from the end of the Nohr path and I can't be bothered to finish it.
For every interesting thing or good design decision, Fates has 3 things fall flat or simplified for the worse from the previous games. Where Awakening was basically all of the stand out features of the previous 12 titles rolled in to one 'this is our last game for reals' package, this seems like a copy-paste of that formula with a new gimmick that doesn't do much but artificially inflate the content and price point.
More of the same minus good characters, interesting maps, game play systems that have been around since the 80's (weapon durability, longbows, etc) and a campaign that spreads over 60 missions.
If you're in to mediocrity than go for it, but Fire Emblem has fallen from grace since Shadow Dragon, awakening was the nail in the coffin, and Fates is digging the hole.
It's known as Fire Emblem If in Japanese. The individual sides are known as Black Night Kingdom (Nohr/Conquest) and White Night Kingdom (Hoshido/Birthright) if I'm remembering correctly.
The problem with removing weapon durability is that they made everything that isn't iron have big drawbacks. Silver weapons, for example, debuff you every time you use it, and bronze weapons are incapable of landing duel attacks.
There's 6 missions you do before you pick a faction and then another 20 or so after that, plus paraloges.
Gimmicks probobly would have been a better word.
The Tactician was first in one of the GBA games, eugenics was in Genealogy, and so on.
>Release date:April 20, 1990
I goofed a little.
I think both are fine personally. I did like the JP convention a little better though. So if you picked Nohr it would read as Fire Emblem If (you choose): Black Night Kingdom. That's not even a name change I have a beef with. Marx's name change is something I dislike though.
It's gone in Fates but I believe it's been taken out in a previous game before.
Too lazy to do whatever needs to be done to get the canon route dlc
Don't feel like playing a non-canon route. Also being sided with Hoshido in the tutorial fight kinda upset me, so I just saved after it and called it a day. Hoshido a shit.
Translation is apparently shit too.
Odin Sphere demo.
My excuse is that I can't decide what to play first, I wanted to do Hoshido> Nohr> Invisible but I really don't feel like playing Hoshido knowing the other two are better gameplay wise. I really just want to play it for completionism but I'm thinking of skipping Hoshido all together now. Been wondering for two days what to do.
What do you mean "how so"?
I like having limited uses that makes me plan on how to use weapons efficiently. A shame most of the games make it pointless by having shops on every map.
I'M FROM EUROPE AND WE STILL DON'T HAVE A FUCKING RELEASE DATE! I DON'T GIVE TWO SHITS ABOUT FUCKING OVERRATED BRAVELY SECOND, I WANT TO PLAY THE NEW FUCKING FIRE EMBLEM NOW NOE! WHERE THE FUCK IT? WHERE THE FUCK IS MY NEW FIRE EMBLEM, SHIBATA?! WHAT THE FUCK IS THE RELEASE DATE?! TELL US NOW! REEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
The game is coming out in like two days or so in Japan and the demo only showed up like a week ago or so, I think. It's really short so they'd probably want to release it close to the official release date.
weapon durability is gone but now using any weapon about iron gives a debuff. for example steel weapons usually have higher weight and decrease defence and silver weapons decrease your str/skl by 5 or something after combat for a whole turn (stacking)
That's so bizzare. But I also like the fact that we'll be able to compare fan and official translations. I expect there will be a lot of comparison threads for that game here.
I can't tell you the exact reasons why there's a fan translation out when they started doing after the game was announced to be localized. Some people say that it was because of fears of excessive censorship/possible memes, and some think the fan translators just wanted to beat the official localization because it was taking longer than expected.
Because it comes out in a month.
You know, unless you got shit taste and prefer the (lol subs.
>Some people say that it was because of fears of excessive censorship/possible memes
There is also that official translation of Awakening actually changed a lot of dialogue, I remember Henry being the biggest victim of that.
