Do people seriously side with the Railroad? I went there for the main story and all I saw was a stupid faction with stupid ideals. Every single one of its members also seemed to have a whacky special snowflake personality too. And to top it off I had to sit through a cringe-worthy "hacking" sequence that seemed like it was right out of a shitty movie as the dude mashed the keyboard while spouting useless techno babble.

But the Institute is completely ass backwards retarded, they release super mutants into the outside and kill people for the sake of spying on the surface world, and have no clue what they're doing. Their ending has them do nothing for the commonwealth other than destroy anyone who could oppose them, and then leave it at that. Then put random armed synths on the surface to "let the Commonwealth know we exist". No, your headcanon about what you'd do as the leader of the Institute doesn't count, the game made it clear you have no authority at all.
The Brotherhood would kill every non-feral ghoul and every synth, then rule the Commonwealth with an iron fist the same way they force farmers to give them crops through violence and intimidation. They will also steal all technology they can get their hands on and leave the Commonwealth's people destitute unless they want to/are able to enlist.

I don't know why they were producing seemingly endless amounts and storing them in a room adjacent to their creation area instead of making a synths on a need by need basis, especially since the head of the lab complains about wastefulness.

So, after first meeting the Railroad i decided to hold onto my chip and teach those patronising cunts a lesson with my Minigun, suprisingly i could kill them. Later when the quest to wipe them out came up i thought that i could just hand it in right now. BUT NO i had to go back to kill the people who apprently just went there to admire the coprses of their organisation and wait for death to finally come to them

>>323652993 Railroad has the better characters though; Deacon, Tinker Tom, P.A.M., Glory are all way more interesting than BoS (at least so far, in fairness I'm much further along the RR questline than I am Brotherhood but so far BoS is pretty bland). They also teach you ballistic weaves. And Tinker Tom sells stealth boys for like 120 caps so you can literally pick up 3 of them for the price of the loot you just picked up on the way. Doesn't improve the writing but that counts for something when all the factions are problematic.
