I don't know what that's from, but I always kind of liked the Command Mission look. I'm not sure if this is an unpopular opinion or not. Regular X always felt kind of plain when put next to Zero
It was just something an artist at Capcom (don't know who, but I think he did a lot of work for the Battle Network games) did for fun, but then a figure was made of it.
Laser scarf X is also dope.
However, I don't mind original X. I felt it was the perfect way to build off of the classic Mega Man design without being too different.
> Regular X always felt kind of plain when put next to Zero
Because at the beginning of the game Zero comes out of nowhere and is a badass. Then eventually you get upgrades and shit that make you cooler than him
screw the haters
Well, yeah, but then a lot of the armors looked a little too gimmicky and overkill compared to zero. Command Mission X seems more on par with Zero in terms of decoration, but still subdued enough that you could believe it's just a regular version of X
I think it's pretty solid. Nice use of die-cast parts (the legs and chest), good effect parts for the Buster (you can combine them into one big shot, though it can't hold that up on its own) and the Buster also has an LED. Pretty good articulation too.
It was just a fig m8, that's all it was ever announced as.
>capcom keeps fucking over megafags
>they back might no.9 to spite capcom
>gets fucked over again
red scarves are the tightest shit ever, any design is improved by adding a red scarf.
The average Megaman fan, ladies and gentlemen.
The fact that it was an April Fools joke, is named directly after the Version Ka Gundam models, and has the same "add random contour lines and bullshit everywhere on top of this existing design" philosophy? You'd need to have Grade A+ Exceed Victory Mk 2 Autism to not understand that it's a spoof.
I never thought I'd ever like her without the beehive but I love the short hair.
no Keisuke Mizuno is the Capcom artist who made that image
he was mimicking the style of Hajime Katoki who is most well known for his work on Gundam but he also did the designs for Virtual On and some other things
>he was mimicking the style of Hajime Katoki who is most well known for his work on Gundam but he also did the designs for Virtual On and some other things
again, how do you know he was mimicking Katoki intentionally? I've seen the ver. thing on much more than just Katoki's designs.
>People actually prefer her Xrd redesign
>Cold eyed assassin turned into moeblob
>Wearing a hat when your weapon is an artificial beast that acts as your hair
Fuck off, everything about that redesign makes me furious. At least Ky's design makes sense in Xrd.
Because the lines are even more excessive than normal for his work and it was literally a fucking April Fools day prank?
Jesus Christ, what next, am I going to have to tell you stupid fucks that Harmonix's date sim game was a spoof too?
>Because the lines are even more excessive than normal for his work
Got it, artists using a different style means they're mocking someone else's.
> and it was literally a fucking April Fools day prank?
what if the prank was to make people think a new MMX game was being made? That sounds a lot more likely.
Nigga please don't talk shit if you're this ignorant.
Ver.Ka is a fucking meme among figure collectors. He wouldn't specifically be mimicking Katoki's style while also exaggerating it, name the design in the vein of Katoki's work with a one-letter difference, and put it up on fucking April Fool's Day if it wasn't a joke.
Seriously, don't talk about shit you don't understand. It's okay to admit you don't get the joke.
this seems really obvious to everyone but you for some reason
I don't know what else to tell you
I mean... it's not a mullet...
>Not liking Katoki
You can suck my fucking cock. He's the only person who's managed to make the abortion of a design that is the Wing and make it look serviceable.
Watching Okawara savage reals and turn them into cardboard box men is much worse than anything Katoki has done.
Yes I mad.
>what if the prank was to make people think a new MMX game was being made?
The image was put up as an announcement for a new figure being produced. Explicitly. That was the entire joke, and they followed through half to make up for people misunderstanding the joke and getting butthurt and half to cash in.
I understand that you're fucking butthurt that you honestly thought a stupid looking parody design was cool, completely ignorant of the fact that the design was meant as a playful jab at the Ver.Ka Gundam figs, but you are going to extreme lengths to deny the fact that you're being fucking stupid and ignorant. No company is going to just fucking coincidentally announce that they're producing a figure with the same aesthetics as a fig meme with the same NAMING SCHEME as a fig meme as an April Fools joke. You're retarded. Get over it instead of being a bitch baby.
Katoki's hit or miss for me, but there are plenty of designs of his I like.
You're the one sounding like a bitch baby writing that much about how mad I supposedly am desu senpai.
>This isn't a redesign it's just extra lines!
I'll have some of whatever you're drinking chief, must be good shit.
Laser scarf shouldn't be allowed to be this cool
Why is it so cool
>Wing Gundam: PS1 Edition
I mean, it's pretty impressive that he managed to take a decent design and turn it into a simple mesh of blocks and colorful shapes. Ends up making him too damn bulky, though.
F-Zero X Captain Falcon is such a good redesign that most people don't even realize he had other designs both before and after.
Speaking of FF, I like Dissidia Tidus more than the original.
Advent Children Cloud is okay too but only without the sleeve.
You can't keep deflecting until we just forget that you're stubbornly insisting a Ver.Ka joke wasn't a Ver.Ka joke just because you like the design.
Own up to being stupid instead of being a pussy.
It's not as obvious as some of the others in this thread, but Rathalos got a redesign in the 3rd gen of MH and he looks way better than in the older games.
Call me a fag, but get rid of the wing and edgy sword bandages and I kinda like it. Probably because of the scarf/cape.
And now I realize this Cloud head is one of the most classic-accurate Cloud face/head designs in a damn long time, it's pretty much his FF7 head proper. I have no idea why Nomura's 'modern' style turns him over so much.
I'm no art expert, but I think he started drawing more "realistic" hair at some point. It's obviously still dumb anime hair, but it's not as ridiculous as classic Cloud's. Texture, I think, is the biggest factor. Compare to his more recent rendition of Cloud, and how his hair isn't basically just one big bunch of yellow triangles.
I'd still honestly take the yellow triangles over the feathered and shortened look of the Remake. It's clear they want to keep his hair more realistic, but somehow it just loses its charm because it's not as ridiculous.
He never wore an ICPO costume, he's always worn his Holy Order gear. His Xrd gear is a mix of his Holy Order gear and his regal attire from GG2, which was still basically a Holy Order regalia. Remember that ALL the kings are former Holy Order brass, and that the general populace relates the HO with authority anyway.
The explanation for him not wearing full king's regalia in Xrd is that he actually knew he was going into combat this time so obviously he'll put on gear he's comfortable battling in, where as in GG2 he got dragged into the conflict very suddenly.
It's not like it's as extensive as a full suit of armor anything. Just fairly normal clothes with some belts, straps, and a few pieces of armor plus a cape. Can't take that long.
