>>323634765 It's not so much the Nintendo tumblr itself that bothers me, tumblr itself is a great resource for art, and even the batfuck insane tumblrites are nicknamed "the dark side of the moon" by most tumblrs. A Nintendo tumblr in concept doesn't bother me.
What bothers me is I know exactly what's going to come out of this blog; shitty memes.
>>323635575 And porn. The tags make it easy to find fetish stuff and you can blacklist tags too. Seriously, if you don't follow SJW blogs or go into SJW tages and block SJWs when they come up, tumblr is not an inherently bad thing. It's just a micro-blogging platform that has had the misfortune to attract a very vocal minority of SJW users.
I'm honestly thinking my time here is almost over. The decline in quality in both discussion and thread content over the last little while is almost staggering. While I know /v/ was never great for completely troll-free discussion, what it did have was really good when it was on point. It just seems that good discussion is few and far between and the amount of shitposting/baiting/trolling/whatever has increased exponentially in the last few years.
Making threads is pointless as the only ones that last beyond five posts are obvious bait/shitpost threads where you have to get lucky and hope good discussion comes about around the 50+ reply mark. Opening a thread with porn or a slightly off-topic but still relevant picture often yielded decent discussion if the topic was brought up fast enough, but with the new mods deleting everything it really seems that "no fun allowed" is the new motto.
Speaking of "no fun allowed", posters are now so obsessed with memeing/countermemeing/anti-memeing that even on the off chance something funny happens, it's destroyed in moments. Everything is a "meme" now and that means everything is either taken too seriously, blown out of proportion, or shot before it can get out of the gate.
I don't know. I used to enjoy wasting my time here, but more and more it just seems like an actual waste of life.
It's funny. Reddit is a hugbox where nothing but fuzzy compliments get circlejerked and criticism must be wrapped in a "but it's still really, really great" sandwich to not risk offending anyone's delicate safe spaces, and /v/ is the exact opposite, where contrarianism means nothing can ever be enjoyed and the slightest flaw means a game is absolute dogshit.
>>323636546 >HOLY SHIT I NEVER KNEW I've played through this game a dozen times and this was my reaction. I knew the game said it was supposed to be useful for stuff like this, but I only ever discovered the chus chus reaction to it and the one time you have to use it to increase your magic on some talking bat. Past that the magic powder always seemed like one of the most useless items.
>>323636557 >Nintendo is a family owned business >Didn't become publicly tradeable until a couple decades ago even though they've been around since the 1800's >Iwata was the first company president not to shares genes with the owning family >>They aren't going anywhere. Yeah no, as soon as Nintendos lost enough money to make the owning family panics and starts to think they'll have to work again they'll shut Nintendo down and hoard all the money for themselves.
>>323636546 >kids are so lazy that they won't start anything unless it specifically tells him to do on a Game Guide >never bothered to use every single item you can think off on specific objects anymore It is truly is the end of an Age.
Oh great, history's going to repeat itself and before you know it we'll get Tumblr staff making levels for Super Mario Maker that'll get stuffed down our throat as mandatory if we want to get 100% of the costumes.
>>323640239 While all that you said is true part of what made the magic powder so damn hard to figure it did all the stuff it does in that .gif >>323636546 is because the game strongly hinted it wanted you to use it on enemies. Have you ever tried to sprinkle magic powder on something actively trying to stab you? Shit's as hard as fuck.
