>Young boy who goes through grief and holds a grudge against Snow
>He's also angry because he's forced into a situation he doesn't want to be in, failed to save his mother, and has a shit dad
>Over time he develops into one of the most well rounded characters in the group, and has the highest magic stat in the game
>Also chill as fuck in Lightning Returns
Why do spergs hate Hope when he's one of the most realistic characters in the series? I don't get it. He turned out to be a pretty well rounded kid.
Kids are shit, nobody like them. I hated the Snow shit, if he just got over it he would probably be one of my favorite characters. He knows what he's doing is wrong and stupid, but he keeps doing it anyway and enjoys it. He would be a better villain.
Damn cute, though.
He wasn't though. If anything Hope was more responsible than Snow.
That's where I wanted him to go, realizing he should have done something to protect her and trying to get stronger so more people don't have to die. I guess that's kind of Snows thing, but he sucked so whatever.
FFXV would be the best game ever if it was a bunch of homoerotic shota driving around catcalling girls and killing monsters.
I don't mind the young adult angle. They're still cute. I hope it has a bro out button like in Army of Two.
XIII wasn't that bad, but it could have been better. The sequels improve upon it.
XIII-2 does a few things better, but it's problem is that it's much easier due to lack of level capping that was in the first game.
Lightning Returns is superior to both games through and through, and I want to do another playthrough soon.
how was Tales of Z? there's these cuties but i really know nothing about the game other than that, waiting on a pricedrop.
I think that deep inside he thinks he is responsible for his mother's death, but accepting so would have cause him to reject all hope and eventually turn c'ieth. His anger was the only thing keeping him going. The deeper part is that he also blames his dad. When he decided to go on vacation with his mother without his father there, he sort of unconsciously stepped into the role of a father, i.e. to protect. Because he was not able to do so, he kind of shifts the blame towards his father, because he assumed that had his father been there, his father would've been able to save them, which he very well might have, seeing as how he was a fairly well off politician. That's why he was so angry at his father. Hope himself is a fairly deep character, as was most of the cast. It's good to take a thread to dissect his character and really appreciate his role.
Stop trying to play on a Chromebook. I've got a fucking memecard and it runs fine.
I'd recommend watching a let's play while reading the wiki.
It was good. I can't comment on how good of a Tales of game it was since I only played Vesperia prior, but the game by itself wasn't too bad. I'd say a price drop is a good thing to wait for, though, since opinions are pretty divided.
I hated the gameplay after a while but the characters and story were good. The clusterfuck with the princess and assassin whose names I can't remember was bullshit but I was playing for the cute boys anyway so I didn't care too much.
>Over time he develops into one of the most well rounded characters in the group
God, you're such a massive fagot.
Hope is as forgettable as everyone else in each of the 3 shitty games.
You probably didn't play it.
>but I was playing for the cute boys anyway
Uhhh but anon that's fucking gay
thatpervert dot com slash post/2135847
Not hard to reverse search.
Hope x Snow is best FF couple, and it's especially hot when Hope tops Snow.
His own mother was responsible for her own fucking actions.
Hope's mother was a complete fucking moron. Snow's only mistake was accepting her help in which he was already reluctant.
>Kids are shit
I hate when kids are shoehorned into movies. Like why the fuck is this kid tagging along? Why don't they drop him off at the nearest day care. Is it really a great idea to bring him into these fights against the government?
Maybe I don't remember but, aside from the obvious L'cie branding, isn't his story done by the time you get to Gran Pulse? Lightning already taught him to be a man, he resolves his issue with Snow, and he already met with his dad.
Everyone else still has muh Serah and muh Dahj to worry about except Hope.
In XIII he gets super magic, and Lightning is going through a shit trip cause her sister died so she wants to play mommy with the kid.
Yeah, most times it's awful.
How could Hope stay mad at such a gorgeous hunk of beefcake?
He was the best character in FF13, which isn't saying much I know, but at least he was relate-able.
>gotta kill this guy because of muh revenge
Okay that makes sense.
CIE'TH L'CIE FAL'CIE FOCUS CIE'TH SISTER FOCUS FAL'CIE
Once he got over his misplaced anger at Snow he was honestly less interesting than everyone else though.
Also Hope had based voice acting.
Yeah, when I got to Gran Pulse I realized that I didn't really care about any of the rest of the story, because I realized Hope's thing was my main hook, somehow.
Gran Pulse was so fucking weird, like a plateau of storytelling.
Which of Snow's designs do you think was best?
>Snow realizes that he's being foolish and he should stop playing hero
>Snow gets a huge ego trip and tries playing hero
>Snow becomes emo because he never amounted to anything
Was Snow literally retarded or something? He keeps making the same mistake over and over.
Objective Party Composition Ranking
>Every other combination of Light, Hope, Vanille, Fang, and/or Sazh
>Anything with Snow
>Was Snow literally retarded
You played the game right? That's like the first thing that popped into my head. He flew his fiance through a firework show and was surprised he got hit.
>>Snow realizes that he's being foolish and he should stop playing hero
It's been a while since i played 13 but when does this happen? Snow is the only character who didn't change at all the entire game
>Was Snow literally retarded
Yes. This is the only constant in the Fabula Nova Crystallis saga
Not unless you're NEET enough to through away 180 hours on Auto-Battle.
Not the greatest story ever told.
Not the greatest gameplay ever made.
Often regarded as one of the worst in the series, but there are people who enjoy it which leads to believe it could be good to you.
Short answer: no, don't gamble with maybe's unless you have the extra disposable time
I thought the development was kinda nice in XIII until it started repeating itself halfway through the game ( Ark / Gran Pulse and later ) and he started crying and bitching again for no reason, also the thing about his dad was weak as fuck
Then in XIII-2 it's purely time travel bullshit and he elects to build a new fucking cocoon for no fucking reason, like what's the practical point of that when you could just build on the surface much more easily (which I guess happens in LR)
Then in LR again it's not even hope until the end of the game and it's mythical bullshit
Basically if you haven't gotten it by now, maybe half of FF XIII is decent but then it descents into pure bullshit territory with it's ending and the other 2 games on this so called "epic" triology only push the bullshit train even further
Yeah, unfortunately, he's one of Snow's team members.
Dude how can you play three story heave games and yet get absolutely nothing about the goddamn story? Almost everything in your post is wrong, so much that it would take a wall of text to correct it all.
You did that on purpose didn't you?
>Almost everything in your post is wrong
Not him, but what he said about XIII-2 and LR is right. Not sure about XIII because I honestly can't be fucked to remember very much about it's plot.
All you have to do is play through motherfucking cocoon and BAM he develops as soon as he meets his dad and BAM, even more when he gets his eidolon.
He grows a huge as fuck backbone as a fucking kid, and grows into a competent leader that becomes the president of the motherfucking human race in X-2 and then was on his way to do it again in X-3 before god himself seized his body as his own vessel because Hope was amazing like that.
>see this little girl/boy
>s/he's actually 600 years old
>See little girl/boy
>It's just a little girl/boy
No. Just accept it. Boys can't be cute.
I have plenty evidence to the contrary.
If someone doesn't, they are lying.
>guy comes back in time to tell you that the surface is inhospitable in a thousand years
>"lol let's build on the surface instead of a New Coccoon, complete with our very own man-made fal'cie."
So do people here just post shut about games they haven't played/don't understand?
Holy fuck can you faggots stop flooding /v/ with gayshit for two fucking seconds?
You're him do not lie, they never built cocoon on LR what were you talking about? And humans are too weak to live in Gran Pulse, don't forget that they all fucking die out in Noel's timeline because of the old cocoon falling down and constant monster attacks.
I'm not gonna start an argument with you, but the part of Hope not being really Hope was also wrong, Bhunivelze made a perfect clone of Hope, down to his personality and motivations, it was essentially Hope himself.
>So do people here just post shut about games they haven't played/don't understand?
I need to go to bed in a little bit.
Eh, fair enough.
>You're him do not lie
Don't forget he became Science King of humanity and made a planet using science and time travel. Truly the best character out of the FXIII team.
Also got to /ss/ with Lightning, really the kid won at life.
Not him but the old cocoon was going to fall down and kill pretty much everyone, there was no way to prevent it so they had to fly up.
Plus people needed to be safe from monsters since not everyone is like the player who can brush monsters aside like they are nothing.
I think XIII-2 was more refined in combat and didn't waste a huge chunk of the game on tutorials. I didn't like the monster component, would've preferred a third party member. The story was worse but Serah and Noel are better protagonists and Caius and Yeul are better secondary characters than those in XIII. The maps, exploration, and noncombat gameplay aspects were vastly superior compared to XIII
Whenever I go through all the trouble of explaining everything about the plot and showing that the "plot holes" didn't exist after all, the other party will usually go.
>Who cares LOL the game is shit anyway fuck the story
And then the feeling that I wasted my time for fucking nothing settles in and I feel like shit.
>I think XIII-2 was more refined in combat
Then you're probably a casual who didn't notice that a vast majority of the skills from XIII were missing (not that XIII is a particularly hardcore game)
It also looked worse, (which is understandable) had less actual areas, reused a lot of its' own assets (again, understandable), and had those shitty puzzles.
And the levels felt empty since there were random encounters for some reason rather than having the monsters on the field.
First of all that guy wasn't me, second of all you do realize I said they built a cocoon in XIII-2 right? I'm starting to think you haven't played the other games
Also the cocoon isn't that big but let's assume it destroys the entire surface, wouldn't building underground be an option then? Or whatever the fuck else that isn't a giant floating thing? Considering all the tech they have there are a million different options to avert a calamity, or hey here's an idea why not go bakc and try to reinforce the original cocoon's pilalr or destroy it by parts so if the fall would destroy everything now it doesn't, but obviously no one thinks of that huh, also the world design in that game is shit considering you go like 500 years into the future and everyone looks relatively the same, wtf were these people doing all this time?
Also I don't get this shit about people being too weak for monsters, again just look at all the tech and shit they had in FF XIII and consider the myriad of possibilities they have to solve those issues
Finally Bhunivelze can't see into human hearts so no matter what his clones are faulty, I know there's the thing with the Serah clone but that's "you just gotta believe" bullshit anyways, the whole game was like that, any rules that were stablished and then broken in XIII and XIII-2 were compeltely fucking pumeled by LR, that game is complete and utter bullshit, I'll only give it that it has the best gameplay out of the 3 but that's not relevant to our discussion
There were plenty of legitimate plotholes throughout the XIII trilogy.
Obviously because the second one involved time travel
If you claim you can explain away all of those, you're just full of shit.
>limited synth abilities
>severely nerfed character attacks
Bruh, the only thing it did better was add the single/wide attacks to commandos. People have this idea that "linear=bad" so they instantly think 13-2 was better when it was a step down in every way except for the main villain.
I love how you people think there's different levels of gayness depending on how much of a girl a guy resembles. Protip: if you're a guy who likes penis, you're gay. Not partially gay, not mostly gay, you're gay.
He is pretty much a completely different character in each game he appears in.
Also he is a whiny bitch the first half of the first game and the scene where he gets his summon is the second worst in the whole game, the worst one being the scene where Vanille gets her summon.
