>New Pokemon games could have looked like this
>Sprites are easier to do thus making time for Gamefreak to have more features and larger towns
>Battle Frontier could ahve returned
Their reuse was the main factor, and GameFreak has outright stated that this was the case. The models are super high in poly count (one of the main reasons battles get laggy in the 3DS games), so that they don't look like shit one generation later like the Stadium ones did in Colosseum.
As I understand it, the 3D models in the new games are actually really good and reason for the slowdown.
I consider basically any Pokémon thread on /v/ to be bait because half these shitters don't know what they're talking about. At least most of the ignorance on /vp/ is deliberate trolling.
Since we all agree Gamefreak are incompetent fucks, who would you hand the Pokemon franchise over to?
Keep in mind, you're keeping the general gameplay intact, so no stupid shit like "GIVE IT TO PLATINUM AND MAKE IT INTO A CUHRAZY ACTION GAME"
Those doesn't look particularly good and all the whining about battle frontier after this long are retarded just wish upcoming games are bigger and that we get some nice looking pokemon.
It kind of sucked though
From what little I know of modeling, once you have a basic skeleton and rigging on top of that, animations for 3D models are by comparison easy to make.
On the other hand any new action or animation a sprite makes has to be draw every for every frame, and then the game has to have a system to access, select, and display each image per drawn frame on the screen.
And this is for good sprite stuff, you could probably make that indie shit by smashing your keyboard and mouse with your ass.
>>implying anyone played any facility besides tower.
The pyramid was a cool idea, as is the Factory (even if that one was mostly luck based). The rest aren't great though, I'd agree.
Fuck off. This was as frivolous as it got. And sprites are easy when it's a static image. Look at most of Gen I-IV's Pokemon in Gen V. The models were only a matter of time.
Gen six left such a bad taste in my mouth.
The incredible buildup, the links, Josh giving so many spoilers. Only for there to be 'That's it? Where is the rest of the Pokemon?' and oh god the fighting over how shit it was and people damage controlling to the max.
Then OR/AS got released and destroyed the happy nostalgia I felt for that series.
And now Z is being cockteased to hell and back, with the only relevant information to it being revealed through the FUCKING ANIME AND MERCH so far.
Z will probably suck and fail to redeem Kalos, too.
Why didn't more people like gen 5? I thought it was pretty great, the only downside was the somewhat simple looking map of the region. Mon design was top notch (apart from the starters) and it showed plenty of love for regularly ignored types like bugs and ghost.
Genwunners complaining about New Pokemon as always, HGSSfags complaining about there not being Following Pokemon, Remakefags complaining about ORAS not happening during Gen 5, and a lot of people just didn't like how some of Gen 5's Pokemon were reskins of already existing Pokemon.
think of it like this, sprites are the same as doing traditional drawn animation, 3D models are like making a painstaking doll then just posing it in any position for future animations, with even less work than stop motion because you can create the entire animation by just moving around parts as an animation file instead of capturing every small movement as an image
>best in the series
I want this meme to end.
It was no better than BW beyond having an actual post-game like every "third version" they make typically does. It held your hand just like BW, XY and ORAS, it was still piss-easy for anyone who's not 10 and the story was no better than anything we've had before. No, having more and longer dialogue did not make the general premise and quality of writing any different.
BW and BW2 were visually what DP should have been though and I liked the games just fine. HGSS would have been even better if they looked liked BW/BW2. But this meme needs to die, BW2 is guilty of many of the same offenses the other newer games get flak for in terms of the story, pacing and annoying hand-holding.
If there's one thing I will always love HG/SS for is the following pokemon and the pokeathlon
Give it to the guys who made ironfall
They know how to squeeze every last bit of power from limited systems
Let them handle the coding, but story, designs, and music still by gamefreak
We can all agree HGSS was shit, right?
>Didn't fix the level scaling
>Didn't fix the problem with juggling two regions
>Didn't fix the trainer rematches, or opt for the VS. Seeker
>Apricorn balls were redundant by the time Gen IV came into play, Apricorns still irrelevant even with that juicer
>Safari Zone had retarded conditions for Pokemon(One month for X to appear when you can chain said Pokemon in less than two minutes if you put a rock in the sandy area)
>Can't ride your bike unless you put your follower Pokemon in its ball
>That idiotic way to get five stars on your trainer card and that RNG shit with the gold leaves
>You still have to do dumb specific shit to get gym numbers
Gen II was shit, and don't get me started on Gen II's Pokemon.
Its the features and changes that push these games up there for me. Say wbat you will about the story, I love that instead of giving us the same game with story alterations we got sequels and get to see how unova changed in that time, visually changing the areas and having to go around the map a different way along with some new locations. Also the base game has the most pokemon. ( haven't played ORAS) And while I hate how the difficulty options are locked behind keys I was glad to see some kind of option for increasing difficulty.
compaired to omega ruby? fire red was fine, hgss had some issues but where solid, omega ruby was boring as fuck for some reason
>Its the features and changes that push these games up there for me
Wasn't it mechanically the same as BW though? I didn't notice any big changes and the bottom screen was still near-useless. Aesthetic changes that won't make it to the next release I don't really care for, same goes for slight variations in the "collect 8 badges, fight the E4" story. All I saw of value in BW2 were new move tutors/egg moves, but having an AR made that a moot point.
>Also the base game has the most pokemon
I actually did not like seeing old Pokemon show up before post-game in BW2. BW felt like an actual fresh start in a new place with all-new Pokemon, something R/S and D/P were kind of missing. It felt more like starting R/B for the first time than any other game in the series since.
FR/LG added new content, HG/SS were essentially remakes of Crystal and not G/S with the Battle Frontier from Platinum. ORAS were straight remakes of R/S without any of the improvements or extras Emerald had.
Emerald was the first game to have the Battle Frontier and ORAS are fucking missing it. People expected all the extra stuff from Emerald to show up, like extra trainers, more double battles, improved gym leader rosters, etc., and we got the bare-minimum effort from GF.
I won't argue that the engine they're using isn't shit but you clearly don't understand how models like that can cause massive slowdowns. It's entirely part of the problem, not a separate thing.
Please point to games with inferior 3D work though and use those as examples. I could use a laugh.
Gamefreak handled the 3D models so fucking poorly.
>those completely unnecessary poly counts on the models
>games struggle to stay 30fps even in one on one battles with only two moving models on screen
>game can't even handle 3D in the overworld
I don't understand how gamefreak has gotten as far as it has. They have proven time and time again that they're really shit at a lot of things.
It's flawed by design because they used R/S as the base and not Emerald. The game would have been much better with Emerald's improvements and it wouldn't have taken any more time to make because they were just tweaks to trainers, rosters, Pokemon availability, etc.
>Not just sticking with the Gen 4 or even gen 5 style so you can just make everything have an excellent level of detail.
>Introduce follower pokemon in Gen 4
>Removed from gen 5
>Introduce character customization in X and Y
>Removed in ORAS
Why do they keep doing this? With any luck, they'll get rid of Megas in gen 7.
They're going to re-use the models for the next several games. Battle Revolution on the Wii used the same touched-up models we had on the fucking N64, though obviously those were not made by GF
you mean low res? If you say so
I just want to butt in and agree that gen 6 models look amazing and they were pretty much what I wanted with 3D fights. Colosseum models were so bad i still have a bad taste in my mouth.
With that said GF needs to get their shit together. They made the only game that only runs on 3D at particular moments.
They have two different teams and they often don't coordinate features like that. It's why HGSS have a toggle run button but BW make you hold the button again. Two different teams worked on the games at the same time.
>Sudowoodo returning from GSC
>Artisan Cave with all the Smeargle
>Desert Underpass allowing you to get the other Fossil
>that Meowth you could get in a Trade that was the only way to have one if you didn't have two GBAs and a Link Cable or Colosseum/Gale of Darkness
>the gimmicks for the Frontier Facilities
>Groudon and Kyogre actually having some impact even before you go after them in Postgame
Shit was great.
Mario & Luigi: Dream Team took 3 years to develop due to the amount of work and detail that went into the sprites.
That was fucking lazy and I hate how every flying Pokemon hovers in mid-air like a douche. I guarantee sky battles won't be seen from again either making it all fucking pointless.
Also, Pokemon needs to not be so fucking linear, and it needs side shit to do.
>Show up in this town
>Get the Old Rod
>FIsherman needs you to catch a Magikarp bigger than his rival's and he'll upgrade your rod
>Get the Good Rod
>Rival wants you to catch a Poliwhirl to battle the Old Rod guy
>Get the Super Rod
Just little shit that eats an hour and it fun man.
Just so this gets settled for once: a single sprite is easier to draw, sure, but animating frame by frame each sprite (front and back) is way harder/time consuming than puppeteering a 3D model.
>pokewalker was good
>actual game was bad
Deffered rendering and LOD has been a thing for soon 30 years anon.
Step 1: You load the model
Step 2: You create a LOD of the model the frame it loads
Step 3: You render the LOD instead of the full model, and only use the full model for closeups
Step 4: Model on picture is only 4000-20.000 points. There is already games with 100.000 point characters running around, because of step 1-3.
Gamefreak should get their shit together, 30fps with only 2 models onscreen is awful.
>People actually think sprites are easier to make
>People actually think the 3d models are bad
THe only reason they looked bad was because of the crappy game engine and 3DS limitations.
Just look at Pokken, those models look sick as fuck.
I just want a Wii U/NX sequel for this. And not like Gale of Darkness.
This might sound autistic, but the hacking/cheating community in Pokemon has really turned me away from the series.
I remember when X and Y first came out, the online was great because the 3DS wasn't hacked yet and the Pokemon Bank hadn't been released. When you played against someone online, you knew that their Pokemon were legitimate. They caught, trained, and raised those Pokemon themselves, and it was really enjoyable.
Now people just cheat. It's so fucking easy to get your hands on perfect custom built Pokemon, and it makes training Pokemon feel like a complete waste of time.
I think I can speak for everyone that this could have been the best pokemon yet, it could have been but they fucked it up so much that all that was left was bitter disappointment and now all we're left with is one of the worst pokemon games.
>No massive complex routes
>No pokemon in the overworld
>No time based pokemon encounters
>Trainers are still static, never moving after you beat them
>The overworld as a whole still feels dead
>Weather isn't even dynamic ever changing
>Seasons will never return
>Be John Gamefreak
>Hype people up for Gen 6
>John Gamefreak: ITS GONNA BE THREE DEE
>Fans: FUCK YEAH, I WANNA PLAY 3D POKEMANS
>JG: About that, we never said the whole game was gonna be 3D
Beautiful 2D>>>Halfassed 3D
>Safari Zone is basically a dead concept thanks to ORAS' Bastardization
>DexNav will be gone with Z and Z will have the exact same customization XY did
>Minigame Facilities like Pokeathlon wont return because HGSS did it and each game needs something unique
>Mega Evolutions are the only thing that are guaranteed to stay and they'll continue to get more and more retardedly overpowered
Imagine being a kid and getting to this massive victory road.
>So massive it feels like a legit ancient road traveled by the greatest trainers of all time
>Literally your last piece of the massive adventure
God damn. Imagine that.
1 = 2 > 4 > 6 > 3 > 5
>not having the ocean in ORAS be even bigger
>not having tons of little random islands, hidden grottos and tons of shit to discover
Pokemon will never be this massive, and look this good.
>reverse search this
>results are all even further cropped versions of it
Nigga be serious
It's just mock ups friend.
I'd give my left nut if it was an actual game though.
Yeah because we all know atlus would do a wonderful job with other franchises
>This is what Game Freak actually believes
>Game has a side quest involving Lance and Cynthia gathering all the legendary plates
>Once you get them all together, you get the Azure Flute
>You're teleported to this after you blow it
How fucking hype would you be?
:^) don't you want atlus to make a pokemon game anon?
>Zelda and Pokemon used to be the go to games for giving that awesome sense of adventure
>Zelda has only gotten more linear overtime, they're just now realizing that it isn't good and they're planning on fixing it with Zelda U
When will pokemon do the same?
The only entrance/exit is a train, which clearly isn't made for public transportation and is probably for construction/mining purposes. The little worker in front of the building implies that it's actually a mine.
So. How do you enter/leave the town?
Yeah we all see how that worked out.
Everyone spends the whole time making shitty fakemon and not building a good world.
True. Didn't even notice that.
If I that was my game, I'd have the gym be deep in a mine dungeon. The train would break down on your way to the gym forcing you to traverse the abandoned mineshafts and beat the gym leader so he can fix the train.
Find world fags. A ton of them lurk on /tg/.
You can find artists, writers, coders, etc. all over the place if you look hard enough. The problem is, YOU have to look for them, shitters and a very small number of other people will come to you.
I actually wish they switched back to sprite, atleast for the main game.
Half the pokemon look like shit in 3d.
>Sprites are easier to use
I fucking wish, man. I miss sprite art in games. People go on abut "muh indie pixels" memeshit, but sprites are honestly way more aesthetically pleasing for games than 3D models and muh realism.
This is especially true for fighting games. Fuck the new street fighters look like such ass. At least Guilty Gear emulates the 2D artwork well.
>which clearly isn't made for public transportation and is probably for construction/mining purposes
he probably couldnt find a passenger train sprite. It's a demake of a town from XY which you can only get to by train.
>tfw no more safari zone
This... this just seems really cluttered. Like there's too much trying to go on at once, there's no space more than a couple squares across without another ramp or tree in the way. I like the idea, but at least 40% of this image is covered in untraversable trees.
ok, hear me out on this idea for a MMO
>all original regions, obviously at start there's only one
>you can transfer to another regions, but YOU CANNOT use your old pokemon until you clear the elite 4 of the new region because using the old pokemon could break the ecosystem etc etc
>upon clearing 2 regions, you unlock the GTS, again, you can't use them before elite 4 as well if they're not from the same region
>you can set yourself as an NPC trainer and passively gain EXP based on what enemy trainer pokemon your pokemon defeat
any other ideas?
Good example of people not knowing what looks good and also works on the game. You would see barely 5% of the area at a time so you do not need to plop that many trees for it to look like a forest for example.
>this entire thread
Does nobody know anything about basic level design or do they just like to plop props down on every available tile
Overhauled breeding mechanics that work over time.
Events that allow you to catch certain pokemon.
They could just F2P the thing too, it would print money from all the mobile normies.
Pokemon in the overworld when?
>Overhauled breeding mechanics that work over time.
>Events that allow you to catch certain pokemon.
oh yeah, forgot about that
I didn't want to say F2P because I wanted to avoid thinking about P2W mechanics and ideas, I was thinking more along the idea of a one time buy and a yearly subscription after the first year
this town looks fucking comfy.
There's like moves that pokemon can learn through these machines that you get by completing certain sections in the game's story.
One of them is surf. You can sail across water using that pokemon.
There's other moves like flash that lights up dark caves, cut that cuts down trees blocking paths, etc.
>those clear waterfalls
Don't be racist, pls. It's just Gamefreak.
Classic example is them having Iwata come in and compress GS's code to the point that they were able to fit an entire other region on the cart.
And the /vp/ one is boring as shit
what's boring about it?
Gonna dumb more from it that I saved frrom various threads about it i've seen
Looks line they put no effort into it.
Even that forest looks like ass, if you look at all the other renders they use a wide variety of objects to make it feel more life like, multiple trees, different rock sprites etc.
A level 38 Sableye can only have a max HP of 121.
A level 40 Wailord can only have a max HP of 212.
>2 status effects
Whoever made this is a piece of shit. The only reasons I can think of fucking up this badly are:
1, They never played a Pokemon game.
2, They're female and played a Pokemon game.
3, They did play it but were too distracted by their older brother molesting them with live crayfish the whole time to accurately remember any of it outside of hypnotherapy sessions.
I'm going to find the original artist of this and send them pictures of my shit, with little notes saying 'nice selfie'.
Pokemon games need to have bigger, more complex routes, and larger cities.
Pretty obviously supposed to be river grass under a slow flowing current.
What everyone wanted:
>I want a 3D open world pokemon game where I can explore without restriction and actually find Pokemon rather than just encounter them in grass
What everyone got:
>So basically, we just made another 2D world with 3D models
Literally nobody wanted that outside of fucking 8 year olds, dumbass
You know what pokemon games really need?
More pokemon I mean shit negro there was what? Only 151 pokemon in the original?
And now there's a mere 721 after how many generations?!
Shiet negro with 7 generations you would of figured they would have had atleast a thousand.
while ni no kuni was flawed, it was still what pokemon should have evolved into
why bother if you're catering to the nintendo audience though? you can release rehashes yearly and all the nintoddlers will eat it up and ask for seconds
It was 3d used in the most useless way ever.
If it was actually one big ass open world then it would have made a fucking difference.
I'm working on a game with a partner and we're actually pokemon fans. I've been thinking about proposing the idea of us making our own pokemon game and doing all of the shit people have been wanting plus more.
Why not? Coliseum and DX gave us a taste of such a thing, and it turned out to be pretty good. Sure, it wasn't a massive financial hit, but that's because it was a Gamecube game rather than a handheld.
>New pokemon games
>Region is mostly unexplored, frontier shit, only just now being settled
>Only one massive town that acts has a hub for incoming trainers and explorers
>Other towns are more like small homesteads
>nearly 150 new pokemon
>You travel the region as one of the first people to challenge the newly established Pokemon League
>Gym leaders from other regions appear
>New Difficulty modes, hard makes everything ust like it should be (Gymleaders ahve 4 to 6 pokemon, etc)
>>Sprites are easier to do thus making time for Gamefreak to have more features and larger towns
>>Battle Frontier could ahve returned
No, the fact is that GameFreak needs more modelers or Nintendo should treat the series like Dragon Quest in that they get new developers every few games.
>What everyone wanted
No anon, pokemon fans are filled with people who want stupid shit, people that think they want things they actually don't, people that want better things and people that comform with what they have.
>If it was actually one big ass open world then it would have made a fucking difference
Which Pokemon games don't have an open world? Hell even most of the spinoffs are open world.
>Gym leaders from other regions appear
>not open world
Why the fuck is everyone want that side walk simulator shit.
I think if they kept it open world but still made encounters random it probably would work just fine.
The openness of the world doesn't matter if there's only one play to go. Honestly, have you ever even been given a choice of what order you want to visit towns in in Pokemon? No, you follow a set path along the routes to wherever your rival is headed, then you HAVE to deal with Team adklfjaj;sldj and then you need to head to the League. There are no alternate routes, the most deviation you can get is whether or not you stop in towns and try things like Pokemon Pageant or Puzzle House
I have two problems with this.
1- the port looks really out of place, the wood and the water contrast way too much and the barrels are bad.
2- Why if all the city have a consistent color scheme would someone decide it's a good idea to put a green area in the center just like that?
>have you ever even been given a choice of what order you want to visit towns in in Pokemon
Yes? There's plenty of optional areas to encourage exploration, especially in Gen V but I forgot you faggots don't actually play video games.
>Pokemon Z comming out next year
>Same shit accept with 50 more pokemon probably
Can we now confirm we're at the point of quantity over quality? I don't think having 2000 pokemon is going to make a game any better if things remain the same.
Especially when character customization is outdated as fuck and the 3d worlds for the most part feel pretty barebones.
Absolute garbage level design. Sure it looks nice zoomed out like that, but you'll never actually see it from that view in the game and can you imagine how much of a fucking pain it would be to navigate that town? I mean fuck, there are two houses four tiles away from each other that require literally 51 tiles of movement to travel between in a giant circle.
The ground color is too dark and similar to the building color.
It needs contrast. Even just making it a tiny bit more light gray ground with dark gray buildings would go a long way over dark gray both how it is now.
>people want open world with pokemon walking around
Do you want monster hunter style action based combat? That's a completely different fucking genre to pokemon and would be a shitty spinoff.
Do you want FFXIII's version where a little bump causes turn based combat? or maybe even FFXII's one where it's semi turn based?
Why can't people remember that Pokemon was supposed to give them the feeling of catching bugs in their backyards then using their imagination over a summer to have a fantasy adventure?
Next people will ask for Pokemon on the Oculus Rift.
>That's a completely different fucking genre to pokemon
Pokemon is not a genre but yes pokemon games still rely on an outdated and terrible combat system.
They really need to think of a better alternative.
I guess GTA isn't open world since you have to go to the same places to do the same missions on every playthrough. Linear as fuck 0/10 no freedom. Same for Fable, or AssCreed, or Dragon's Dogma, or any number of other open world games.
Not every game needs to be Elder Scrolls.
>All those different shaped ice sprites sticking out of the water.
>One fucking style of tree
Colosseum models weren't as good, but their animations had a lot more character
And I really miss that sense of scale
Cities don't have parks? Hell even the shithole that is Chicago has parks.
Downtown Seattle is built just like the one in that image. Ports on the water, concrete jungle everywhere else, spots of green like Freeway Park in the middle of it all.
>Voncanion will get an actual Forme and not some Hold-Item Shit like Hoopa to be the middle ground between Hoopa Unbound and Mega Diancie
>New Mega Evolutions
>Perfect Zygarde will be a Mega Fug Counter and end up being even more overpowered
>Kalos Pokedex is mostly unchanged aside from having all Pokemon with Mega Evolutions
>Postgame consists of the same shit as XY except replace catching Zygarde with catching both Xerneas and Yveltal because GameFreak blew their entire load of Postgame Legendaries on ORAS
No there isn't. You have to beat Gym Leader y to get HM x so you can open up the route to Town Z. sure, there's optional things to look at along the way, but none of them are true paths to anything other than themselves. But I forgot, the only self-proclaimed Pokemon fans left are autistic sperglords, nostalgia fags, and 7 year old boys, so why would anyone try to innovate anything with the last living cash-cow in the realm of handhelds?
>No there isn't.
>there's optional things to look at along the way
Which is it? You can't even keep your own story straight.
>T-T-Those don't count!
>I better start calling names!
I don't know why I bothered.
Game is called sage, /vp/ was making it before the dev team went private, but it's still being made, I think
Team Galactic was the best evil team.
>Let's destroy the whole fucking Universe
Seriously I'd love a sequel to Platinum.
>Cyrus is back
>Gives no fucks
>Has already captured Both Palkia and Dialga when the player starts the game
>Believes that the Elite 4 is controlled by Reptilians
>Shit's getting real as you travel across the region
>they've stolen pokemon, kidnapped trainers, even have gym leaders from other regions working for them
>You climb the top of Mt. Coronet, reaching Spear Pillar
>You're rival already got his ass blown the fuck out by Cyrus, who has summoned Arceus
>Champions from all different regions fly to Spear Pillar, as Arceus consumes the pillar
>You and Cyrus end up in the new universe with arceus, all of existance has been wiped out
>But if you beat Cyrus you can saved the universe
I want a story mode though, and double battles as the default style
Fucking hell we're never getting a proper spinoff entry again are we
>"I'm an autist with no read comprehension, please rape my face"
>"D-don't call me names! I just wanted to REEEEEEEE on /v/ since no one can punish me for talking like a fucking retard there!"
>4 greater than anything
I didn't even bother finishing Platinum, I was bored after three badges. Why are the Gen 4 games so fucking slow? I know about the technical shit from DPPt but it was supposedly fixed in Platinum. The games still feel like fucking molasses.
That's because it's a memehack dedicated to actually finishing rather than trying to be good.
Sage spent 2 years on just the dex because they have a survey for everything, then they have a survey for the survey and if enough autists take issue with it they survey again. Their dex probably would be much worse without them.
God dammit this looks so good.
I genuinely want this.
Fuck all these contrarian meme-bois with a pinecone, best thing they will do in their lives is die.
So is vectol
>Vectol was a computer virus that had infected the PC storage system. The process that converts data into matter has given it a physical form.
it even looks like a computer mouse
I wanted the games to be running on the Colosseum/Gale of Darkness engine, to trainers be able to be on the battle scene like the GC games and pretty much the gamecube games but with the handheld stories.
I got a half assed 3D pokemon game that runs 10 fps.
>it is shit, but whatever
>double who cares
>safari zone acrues days without going there
>you're going to make a togepi run behind you at 15mph
>i agree with this
well... you have at least two points
Because they're too attached to the ashnime. When they got rid of it after HG/SS, I didn't blink any eye honestly. There really isn't a reason why they should be focused on something like that, how about getting rid of HMs and just making Pokemon have field-only moves or introducing items that replace them? I'm tired of fucking HM slaves.
Personally I think Amie is a great replacement for following. Although combining the two might be neat.
Like, if you turn around and talk to your pokemon that's following, you'll go into first person Amie, with the background being where you're standing in game.
(note that probably most of these are old and possibly not being used)
You know what I never got
Why does the series focus so much on pokemon? It's always pokemon this and pokemon that. I'm sick of them adding so much pokemon! They've added so much it's getting to the point where they can't include all of them in everything they do anymore.
Why don't they expand on the WORLD of pokemon instead? Just do more with the locations and people, y'know?
Because the underlying conventions of the pokemon world are too broken and limited to do anything with. And they're too cowardly to do a real reboot or spinoff of that style where they break convention.
It's getting to that point now.
That's why remakes are standard these days instead of entirely new games every year.
I get the feeling the next game is going to have some pretty huge changes from what we've seen in previous new generations.
It's pretty clear that the "slap some new pokemon on it and put them in a new area" isn't going to work forever.
As someone who bothered to complete the pokedex in Y I can say already I never plan on doing it again because of how much of a fucking chore it was.
>Implying completing a regional dex is hard even for Kalos.
Make a living dex like the average autist on /vp/. That both gives you the right to complain about the time cost and also revokes said right because of auto dex completion in the future if you put it on bank and then just dump it into all future games.
Well yeah there's that but I'm expecting something from the NX
Maybe pokemon go will have a counterpart game on the NX since we know the NX is planned to be both a mobile and home console.
I remember the
never to be finishedToxic Purple romhack implemented items to be used in place of HM slaves. At the end of the first and only ;_;mission, you received a machete to cut down trees with.
>finally 3D models!
>think this will save them time instead of having to spend that time making new sprites
>spend same time on games
>less content than before
>cool features keeping getting removed
>mediocre remakes, no challenges anymore
>instead of new pokemon and fun gimmicks just power-creep
I can't stand this series anymore. Black2/White2 were the last good games imo. X/Y were rushed as hell (clearly by the game's empty areas) and the Ruby/Sapphire remakes were just a pathetic money-grab.
I did make a living dex.
It's still a fucking chore with little to no reward.
Shiny charm was complete shit thanks to the fact that I was IV and EV breeding and the shiny were ALWAYS the shittiest stats in the litter.
>tfw spending weeks breeding for a shiny beldum with good IVs
>crank out something like 5 perfect beldums
>finally get a shiney
>literally the worst stats I had gotten until that point
I raised it anyway
They are like barely different. Just some minor pixel changes.
I never liked this concept there is a point of being hard and challenging and then there is just annoying and unfun.
