>>323582717 >>323582571 >>323582503 >worst combat of the series >worst balance in the series (over half of the signs are useless) >worst sidequests in the series >whole plot is just find the villain >least choices in the series >no deep romance, give Alvin to Triss and she starts acting like your wife
>>323582673 It isn't ass-numbingly awful. Compare it to TW1 and TW2 though and get back to me, both previous games handled it in a much more fluid and thought-out manner.
Also, gameplay doesn't extend to just combat. A huge part of the Witcher universe are the potions, preparing for the fight, etc. Sitting down and crafting/drinking the potions you thought you needed before a big showdown and coating your blade with oil was the best feeling from the older games. TW3's system of only having to craft them once, then sticking them on your hotbar like goddamn health-potions with oils lasting forever till you used them was the stupidest decision I have ever seen.
>>323582956 >no deep romance, give Alvin to Triss and she starts acting like your wife I like most of TW1 but this really aggravated me. It just forces you to pretty much waifu triss or shani when I just had to leave this dumb fucking kid with one of them.
Because the books were filled with deep Romance and not just Geralt fucking everyone and then going full-beta whenever Yennefer was around?
>Worst combat Opinion and a shitty one, you moved much slower and more deliberately instead of rollingaroundatthespeedofsound
>Worst balance The only worthwhile signs anyone ever uses are quen, aard and sometimes igni, that hasn't changed in any game.
>Worst sidequests Running around to 200+ question marks on the map to fight drowners is better than actual sidequests?
>Whole plot is find the villain By that logic, literally 50-70 hours of TW3 is just "Find your daughter"
>Least choices in the series You got choices on how to handle sidequests that affected the outcome of the story a dozen times, each act has a different ending you choose, and there are 3 distinct endings at the finale. Get out.
>>323582962 Witcher 2 had some of the worst combat out there. You legitimately could not take potions before you fought the majority of enemies as you would just run into them unprepared. One of the worst design choices in the game. Inb4 muh lore. Lore doesn't make for fun game play.
>>323583414 >Running around to 200+ question marks on the map to fight drowners is better than actual sidequests? Are you implying those Witcher contracts in Witcher 1 were "actual sidequests"? Kill 5 drowners and collect your gold.
Try 'minority', the entire point is to take potions BEFORE you need them, jackass, it ties in to your role as a hunter. Pre-planning. Running ass-first into a pitch black cave and then bitching because you suddenly got jumped by monsters without time to prepare isn't the game's fault.
There were contracts and sidequests in both games. TW3 had plenty good ones, and so did TW1. TW1 was also a 15-20 hour game whereas TW3 was a 100+ hour game, and a large part of that 100+ hours were running around to question-marks for menial rewards and the occasional fun encounter.
>>323584078 Those "question-marks" are there so you would want to explore the world constantly for better equipment that Witcher 1 never even had. Witcher 1 had like two pieces of armor (that enhanced armor from the merchant and Raven's armor) and like four unique swords worth using over the whole game.
>>323584621 >>323584894 43 hours for Witcher 1 31 hours for Witcher 2 (although it has two distinct paths so I'll get back to that someday) 31 hours for Witcher 3 so far, just started the main questline in Novigrad, loving the game more than 1 and 2
it's a shame though, Witcher 3's combat is just functional. it's not really superb. a lot of it has to do with how spongey enemies and Geralt are. i think it'd be better if everyone did more damage, but you can't have it that way. either Geralt is a walking god or enemies are massive health sponges that take forever to kill.
it makes me wonder how bad Cyberpunk is gonna be. although hopefully it's more of a shooter, that's pretty hard to fuck up.
i started a second playthrough of 3. i went with Triss first, now going with Yennefer. while it's interesting seeing her not be a bitch, now it's kind of boring between us. Geralt and Yennefer's relationship is so much more interesting going with Triss, there's so much tension and it makes the two of them being tied to Ciri all the more interesting. also Triss leaving for Kovir is so depressing and i'm hyper aware of her absence in all the following scenes. Geralt and Triss really is the OTP.
>>323585629 This. Witcher 2 has some the best characters and writing in any video game. Witcher 3 has too many stupid moment when the characters act like complete retards. Gameplaywise both are mediocre anyway.
>>323582956 >worst balance in the series I think you might be genuinely retarded, W2 starts off hard and it gets super easy, this is not a problem in W2. Also W2 has all useless as shit armors which you never use because the game is 20 hours and the alchemy system is heavily downgraded
>worst sidequests in the series Again geniunely retarded, W2 had 4-5 sidequest, W1 had a lot more and tons of them were connected and added to the main storyline
>least choices in the series Again completely wrong, IT's a lot longer game than W2 so it has more choices
