Watched the trailer again, noticed this little guy.
I CAN'T WAIT TO BASH THESE LITTLE GUYS STRAIGHT INTO HELL!
>take up whole screen
>have to scroll down
>met with that face
10/10 im spooked
>Wanted to go as a Paladin type for my first play through of Dark Souls 3, heavy armor and big fucking hammer
>Remember that heavy armor and defense builds are shit and Souls games will always be about DPS so I'll just have to be a boring katana faggot with a magic buff
>defense builds are shit
They'll take you through the game just fine if you're not a shitter. Mobility is always better than defense in Souls games, but a heavy armor defensive build is viable.
Not getting hyped for this until I know Adaptability is gone
So which Souls game has the best rapier?
Can anything beat Ricard's Rapier and it's R2?
I hope there are cute girls in this game!
>tfw no cute lolis in souls games
>tfw that cute loli in dark souls 1 got removed due to it being rushed.
>bought DS2:Sins of the whatever
>enjoy it alot
>suck at it
>rage quit at lost sinner
i should go back
but its just so annoying
Well I meant like in flashyness of animation but I guess that counts
was the test phase actually what it will look like in the final product?
i feel like its not on par with bloodborne... as if they still missing some stuff to add for the surrounding
>Played an hour or two of Dark Souls
>Didn't get into it; felt slow and defensive
>Played and beat Bloodborne
>Enjoyed it; felt fast and aggressive
Should I bother with 3?
I dont give two diddlyfucks about plot.
>want to replay DS2
>realize that I have to go through so much of the base game to get to the good DLCs
DS3 is a shit ton faster than DS1 and DS2.
couldnt even save that loli
fuck you From
The game would have been better if she was in.
I mean, I'm going to get the special edition, but why did they have to make combat so fucking weightless again?
>tfw going to play bloodborne on my friends ps4 soon
If Miyazaki likes Berserk so much where is the Chihaya character in his games?
I like the idea of the warp, don't get me wrong, but from the start? No god damnit, it ruins the pleasure of exploring and seeing the same place but from a different prospective. Earn it at some point in the game? Yes.
Having a rapier that lets you fuck somone in the ass from thirty yards when they run to heal is pretty good yes. There's a reason many people dropped the estoc when Ice Raper arrived.
DS2 has the most diversity on Thrusting Swords.
>Shield Piercing Spider Silk and Mail Breaker
>Black Scorpion Stinger
>STR based Estoc
And the common moveset is pretty good
Nothing wrong with stealing from something if it's good.
no that is actually the rapier in the game, the saber is the rakuyo
If you are referring to them developing it for multiple systems under a seemingly tight time frame then I can understand the worry.
However I hear that they've been developing this game before Bloodborne was announced, they borrow assets from Bloodborne to save time, and the first area's layout has a very DS1/BB layered style.
I can atleast expect a decent PVE first run experience because of M's involvement.
Where in the lore does it say lolis DON'T exist in Dark Souls?
maybe because the world in DaS was by far the best one because it felt connected and whole? by the time you got the lord vessel you knew most of the world inside and out, and everything that comes after it is basically a lose connection of levels
>That Battle Axe moveset and buff
It's a shame, really.Demon's Souls axes were just the same as hammers and swords moveset wise, Dark 1 had an atrocious axe moveset that was so awful it was nearly unusable, and Dark 2's axes were better moveset wise but didn't feel like they had any weight to them.
Three games. It took three games to finally get a decent fucking axe in a Souls title. Unfortunately no game will ever top the Hunter Axe in Bloodborne.
>dark souls 3 will be the last souls type game
I'll give you that. Dark 2 at least put some effort into the axes, I don't know what the fuck From was thinking with axes and hammers in Dark Souls, they were downright horrid.
>no more B team
feels gud bros
Played DaS2 and DaS1 second. The hyped difficulty level was a joke, there were only 2 bosses who I didn't beat in the first or second try in DaS1 and after beating Smough and Ornstein the game became incredibly boring until the DLC areas.
Bloodborne forced me to learn a completely new style due to the lack of shields (real shields, not wooden plank) and was difficult again but I don't see DaS3 being motivating again.
The visuals will be stunning, the fights will be demanding and the exploring will be fun again but I am just no hyped for it. I look forward to a fun week with it, maybe 2 weeks but it probably won't make a lasting impression unlike the first title of the series that I played since it will lack a learning curve for me just like DaS1 did.
I guess it would have been better if I played 1 first.
BB had warping from the start and it had incredible level design, arguably even a step above DaS1's.
Although I'd say DaS1 still had overall better world connection between areas, but each individual area was better in BB IMO.
The moveset is the same exact moves she uses in her bossfight. you just dont have the blood/fire
HEY EVERYONE LOOK AT THIS GUY HE DOESN'T USE BONFIRES
It better be an armor again. It was tite as fuck.
I agree that shit is stupid as fuck.
Was co-oping with my brother last night and got invaded. It was mostly me fighting him because my brother was host.
I hit him over and over and he would run and heal. Never hit me once though.
Then in another fight he rolls and does a light attack from the roll that finally hits. Killed me when I had 100% health.
What's even the point in fighting when you kill in one hit?
well they arent very easy to get. so its kinda earned
I don't know. While I liked the Armor, the fact that it's JUST Armor made it not feel special too me.
If they add an armor transformation at least let it be something really special. Not just something that could very easily be just any set of armor
>People actively farm these retarded 27-28% damage boost gems to one or two-shot others
>They are so desperate for wins
Meanwhile, I just leveled to 150 and got more defense, and use my "meh"-gemed Kos Parasite and still kill these fucking tryhards. I'll never understand the obsession in Souls PvP of wanting to one-shot people at all times.
BB yes, you could see a lot off places from different spots
Including different dimensions.
DeS, sort of. It's like DS2 in a way. You can see other levels from a different level but it's a rare occurrence, You can see Boletaria from Stonefang Mine, but the rest of the levels take place much MUCH farther away, like they do in DS2, the only difference there is that you don't walk to them and instead are given a "level select" sort of system.
Well it being hard was my only motivation to play it.
Either a game has a good story or the gameplay is fun or it is hard so I want to prove myself that I can do it. I do like difficult tasks.
Without the difficulty level Dark Souls has nothing to make me want me go back after quitting the game for the day.
>mfw looking down below after getting out of the clocktower
>tfw there will never be a from software made Kantai Collection game
>889 hp when cooping
no wonder, what weapon were you using?
>wanting to look like a cheap movie latex monster
at least Beast Embrace changed your movement when equipment
fugg I wish I could be as cool as him!
>You can dodge attacks with that flip
In Demons Souls and Bloodborne you cannot use one checkpoint to warp to another checkpoint. You have to return to the hub world first. And from the hub world continue on on different parts of the world.
>well they arent very easy to get.
I think you meant to say time consuming. There is nothing hard about getting those gems when you can just type a dungeon code and get the runes/rocks from chests or kill that specific trash mob a million time until it drops because for some reason the actual hard boss fights all drop shitty gems compared to the generic undead in front of the boss gate.
Good timing, I'm already running low.
Guys, just imagine how batshit insane can Miyazaki go with the weapon arts. I can't wait for weird samurai slashes on katanas, magic attacks and some crazy swings on greatswords. If the game will be on DaS' and BB's DLC level it's going to be incredible.
One of my autistic friends refuses to play DS2 because of the "it's a shit game" meme. I don't get it, the game isn't even bad. Sure, it's not DS1, but it's still a good game.
I bet he browses /v/
Can someone pls explain this BS to me?
Every PvP match I have had the last few days is like this, if I had shitty internet I would understand. But I don't and this shit is annoying as fuck.
I don't even PvP much, I just want to farm titanite chuncks but this shit is making it impossible.
Considering things got weird with the weapon classing in DS2, I'm at least optimistic.
>Archdrake Hammer is classed as Greathammer
>It's actually a blunt halberd with poise damage equal to Great weapons.
>Red Rust Sword is actually an Axe
>Santier Spear is a bunch of weapons in one.
if by world you mean the map then i don't agree. Bloodborne is full of dead ends. exploring areas don't leat to other new areas its not as satisfying as DaS.
For comparison firelink you could go to New Londo, the catacombs, the parish and the undead burg pretty much from the get go, and if you had the master key you could go to the swamp and the forest and have loop to the Parish. Central Yharnam only goes to the cathedral ward and has a backdoor entry to the woods that is never usefull.
If you count cathedral ward as the main hub it does lead to 4 different areas as well but they all finish at a dead end. I was incredibly disapointed when i beat Bloodstarved and there was nowhere to go from there but back to cathedral ward. Kind of breaks the pacing of the game.
But i like the world of BB better from lore, i love eldritch gods and alien shit.
>all souls like games after dks3 will be ps4 exclusives
I'm in the UK on Virgin Media (best provider in the UK), my internet is fine but there is some serious BS lag on the server end.
Either that or everyone I PvP against has shitty internet.
>There is nothing hard about getting those gems when you can just type a dungeon code and get the runes/rocks from chests or kill that specific trash mob
You realise you have to actually clear all the main chalice dungeons (which includes defiled chalice and depth 5 pthumeru ihyll/loran/isz) to be ABLE to use those codes, right?
You don't just start a new character, type the fucking code in and start farming, you have suffer through the hardest bosses in the game, literally artificial difficulty trash of losing half your health while everything has the ability to one shot you even with 50vit before you even get to start your retarded time consuming farm.
So yes, you fucking earn those gems anon.
So you have never played Bloodborne PVP. You can have 1500 HP with runes up the ass and a fully gemed weapon can deal 800 damage per hit. It literally takes 2 hits to kill someone with maxed HP because armor in this game means nothing. Thats why fight clubs in /vg/ forbid gems.
If your internet isn't shit, then it's the other guy's internet that is shit. The other guy is hitting right where you were 0.5-1 second ago. In his screen, you're still at those spots.
Only 3 months, 1 week, and 22 hours left until release.
But what if I want to play souls and not those other games?
What were your main weapons on all your builds?
All fucking great weapons. I want them all to return.
>using the Bloodletter L2 as an example
No nigger, even at 98 you'll never see an R1 do more than 500 damage unless it's a roll punish or hit them mid-attack to get the bonus multiplier (with all Souls games had too).
Are you also forgetting that in DeS one shots were common as fuck, in DaS1 2 orbs off a Dark Bead could 100 - 0 you with 40vit +favour ring, and Dark Souls 2 was just as aids.
From Cathedral Ward you could go to:
>Upper Cathedral Ward
>Hemwick Charnal Lane
Basically all of the game and Oedon Chapel is the center of it, just as Firelink is in Dark Souls.
Dead ends? You mean you reached the end of an area like you do with Dark Souls with the Crystal Caves, Kiln of the First Flame, Tomb of the Giants, and so on.
Your nitpickiness kind of shows.
>Dark Souls 2 was just as aids.
DaS2 has the least cancerous PVP of them all. All those magic spamming resonant faggots got destroyed when you had a high magic resistance shield.
>uses bloodletter l2
>complains about 1 shots
lmao anon please.
You will need the bastille key first to do this. The key is in Belfry Luna, so if beating that area is worth It to you. It's is not that much harder with out it, unless you are a caster. It makes lock on range much shorter. Roll towards her for most attacks, but away from her backup slash. You can also get Lucatiel at the bottom of the elevator.
>its just a special attack!
>its just a charge attack!
>arcane and alien form is just OP!
I am starting to see a pattern here. You Bloodborne kiddos are just in denial over how shit the PVP in your shit game is. Always coming up with excuses.
>DaS2 has the least cancerous PVP of them all.
DaS2 pvp is absolute aids, the sheer number of broken shit in the game was hilarious, and it has by far the worst connection issues in the series and phantom lag.
Suppose I should have listed all the games and not just DS2:
>Sword of Moonlight (DeS)
>Blades of Mercy
well yeah, those do more damage because they're slower. The bloodletter is literally the only weapon that is that does that much damage, that fast. And it gives you frenzy.
>dark souls 1 had a loli that was removed due to time constraints
>bloodborne literally already has a loli in it
That's actually Frenzy. Trade AoE for self damage.
For those who don't know, the Bloodletter AoE does fixed damage depending on the total level of the caster and avoids defenses (as far as I've heard). I say it needs to be patched because of that webm which I have experienced myself when the caster was behind a wall, and do percentage based damage to the target instead.
they use gems, and i dont take 800 dmg unless its a strong attack or one of those bullshit aoe attacks.
Im pretty sure the all gem rule is just there to justify the autistic farming they do.
>it takes 3 full seconds to do charge a charged attack which have gigantic parry windows
>you can parry Bloodletter and AYYYY's AoE attacks or iframe through them with your infinite dodge
>implying you don't just need to git gud
Bitch more pleb.
are you suggesting destiny isn't a shit game? because it is. I barely broke 400 hours, and a lot of that was idle time.
You're right, let's make PVP horribly imbalanced so people get their progress impeded repeatedly by invincible one hit kill builds, what a great idea anon
>game has infinite iframe dodge for easy safe escapes
>g-git gud scrub
well two things
first of all, it's not going to take long until souls clones appear. most of them will probably fail to get it done properly (hello lords of the fallen), but there's bound to be a really good one sooner or later. maybe even a better one.
second, we're talking about a break for a couple of years at best. we'll have a new from souls game within the next 10 years i'm sure.
>there are people who put asston of points into endurance when all it does is add a LITTLE bit of stamina
>in a game with no equip limit
>and not put points into vit
>when runes give you so much more
>Dark Souls 3 began development when From Software was working on Dark Souls 2 DLC. Initially, I wasn’t involved in the project, I joined at the midpoint of the prototyping phase. That was the milestone where I started taking lead.
>Honestly speaking, when the team was working on the prototype build overall development wasn’t in a good shape. We were at the very late stage of Bloodborne development and I had settled on a lot of the ideas for what I wanted to bring to Dark Souls 3.
>I’m aware that the way I give direction to the team when working on a game is a little bit different from other people. I call it “total direction,” which means I get complete control of how the game is made, not only with regards to the level design, but also the background music, sound effects, and everything else. I think that may give it a unique quality.
Just how incompetent is From Software without Miyazaki?
Seconded. Because at the end it'll just be reskin galore.
>Which skin of this same weapon would you like?
As opposed to what? Infinite block with shield? I frames have always existed since DeS.
>You're right, let's make PVP horribly imbalanced so people get their progress impeded repeatedly by invincible one hit kill builds, what a great idea anon
you fucks complain about imbalance in all the games but it didnt prevent anyone from finishing them
Also remember to filter tripfags
>Black steel katana, powerstanced.
>Caestus' power stanced stances with bonefist alt
>Lucatiels sword with Dragonkeeper GS for PVE
I want the loyce greatsword, but I don't want the aneurysm that Lud and Zallen are probably giving me. They've killed me so many times. I've despawned all lightning reindeer but the ones at the end. This shit is retardedly hard. I can't seem to git gud, and bringing help just makes them take way less dmg, so it's pointless. [End of rant]
>bitches about 'unavoidable' one shots
>tell him he has a circle button that uses fuck all stamina to dodge which he's invincible
>l-lemme just change my goalposts real quick!
Its way harder to iframe in Dark Souls dumbass. And there is no infinite shield since Dark Souls 2 lets you break them for free stabs. You Bloodborne kiddies only like the PVP in your shit game because its 1 hit kill easy mode. Dark Souls 2 PVP is hardcore and strategic as fuck. There are whole youtube channels dedicated to the depth of it while you fags have nothing because its THAT terrible.
Better than lag stabs of DaS1. Add in power stances, and guard break repostes.
DaS2 was way better for PvP. If you suck, you suck. If your connections suck, stop being Russian. Don't blame the game.
The Bloodletter AOE is literally undodgeable though because it has a huge lingering hitbox. You dodge the first frame and it hits you in the second as you can see in that webm posted.
Doesn't give frenzy if high frenzy resistance tho...
There is a lot DkS2 -type pvp in Bloodborne and that's why I don't like pvp so much. It's just whoever got first hit and that's it. I just enjoy my early-game pvp though it takes 1 year each fight because of 20 vials.
>you fucks complain about imbalance in all the games but it didnt prevent anyone from finishing them
Pls anon, tell me why you are such a shit player?
The only reason you want OP builds is because you are shit and you think you are good running around beating people with normal builds.
You are nothing but a pussy hiding behind his OP build, you spoil what could be a good thing if not for people like you.
DeS was a series of straight paths, there was no reason not to have it
BB was designed well and used lamps sparingly, which is why it worked
I'll be fine with bonfire warping from dot one if someone competent is in charge of how the world connects
>Dark Souls PvP
Those absolute madmen
>way harder to i-frame
I call bullshit since I've played all the souls games starting with the first batch of Demons Souls.
Even at the forest to Alvina at Dark Souls, invaders rarely ever used a shield. Because why would they when they could roll out or fish a backstab.
The only souls game where rolling was difficult is factually Dark Souls 2, because i-frames are tied to the Adaptability stat.
>I will say that the storyline is based around the Lord of Cinders, and the player acts as the dark hero who hunts them down. There was also a fire succeeded by a legendary lord from the past to the present. It’s like the grand finale of the story around the Lord of Cinders.
>The original Dark Souls was about killing gods, that was one of its themes. The third game is about the kings that succeeded the power of those gods. The play is basically trying to kill those kings. That’s the basic plot of the game.
Dark Souls 2 had amazing connection. Way better than Dark Souls 1. The problem was with match making. It did not have any so you would connect with people from Hong Kong and lag like hell no matter how good your internet was. But if you connected with people from your own region it was smooth as fuck. I did a ton of pvp and co op with close friends and I never experienced problems like that in that webm while in Dark Souls 1 it was a huge pain in the ass to summon even when we had the computers in the same house.
>If your connections suck, stop being Russian. Don't blame the game.
>i-it's your shit poverty internet, t-there's noting wrong with my favourite game baka :'(
Please anon, everyone knows DaS2's online was a fucking pile of laggy shit.
>The only souls game where rolling was difficult is factually Dark Souls 2, because i-frames are tied to the Adaptability stat.
Nope it was easier because more ADP = more frames. If you put enough points in it you can acquire god mode by spamming dodge.
Dark Souls pvp in general has been shit. Nothing but terrible balancing. Now if you take a step back and had played Demon's Souls, then you'd understand what good pvp feels like.
>Dead ends? You mean you reached the end of an area like you do with Dark Souls with the Crystal Caves, Kiln of the First Flame, Tomb of the Giants, and so on.
Those are all late game areas which you get to after going through a lot of other areas, also kiln of the first flame is literally the end of the game of course there's nothing after that.
Early game in DaS you were entirely free to explore.
In BB the areas you go to don't lead to anywhere. Old yharnam is a dead end, Hemwick is a dead end, Forbiden Woods is kind of a dead end since Byrgenwirth is barely an area and the conection to central yharnam is not that usefull. Also The DLC is stretching since you don't go there from cathedral wards just as much as you don't go to nightmare frontier from cathedral ward.
i fucking love BB but i'm not gonna defend it blindly from criticism. World design is just not connected in a way that's fun to explore.
For example in DaS you get to firelink, go to the burg, then the parish, you find the shortcut to firelink and go to darkroot which you could explore and use as a back entry into the woods and fight sith. Only then you would go back to firelink
In bloodborne after getting to cathedral ward you go to old yharnam, then back to cathedral ward, then to hemwick, then back to cathedral ward, then to the woods and back to cathedral ward again. Kind of repetitive messing with the pacing of the game.
>It makes you faster, stronger, etc
>Miracles and holy weapons totally wreckt you
>instant full heal grass
Thats some nostalgia speaking.
>You just suck because FROM uses shit tier online
>Based on literaly, factual proof displayed visually to your retinas
KEK holy shit I knew DaS2fags were delusional, but this shit is fucking hilarious. Kill yourselves, your favourite game is trash.
I hate how 90% of the time backstabs would miss because of this shit, either let me attack normally or hit the fucking backstab instead of wasting my punish.
you know what I actually want for these games?
level limits, so builds would have to specialized and not just johnny does every thing
>dark souls fans defend this
This post is sarcastic and trying to show you how retarded you are
I guess that's right. In BB you definitely have to kill Gascoigne and Amelia to progress. In fact you are set to not be able to skip certain bosses at all (seven of them to finish the whole game), while you can do so in Dark Souls due to the master key allowing you to get further easily. You can definitely skip to the gargoyles, and drop immediately to quelaag, kill the Iron Golem, Ornstein and Smough (or smoff as some like to call him), and then split up to kill the four lords from there.
I think that Dark Souls is very free in terms of exploration until you get the Lord Vessel. But by then you have to kill all the bosses in your way to the Lord Souls, and then fight those too. So it kind of loses its freedom after you get fast travel, surprisingly.
I'm fairly sure that not going to be the main theme, its probably gonna be like like DS2 trailer music
Which was fucking greatand nowhere to be heard in game
>actually need to manage a resource
>not going crescent falchion
>I'll just throw out insults without a single idea to back me up
N-no you s-stupid.
"PTDE was a mistake"
- Hidetaka 'Big M' Miyazaki
Way of the Samurai is such a weird fucking game man. I've been trying to get into 4 recently and it's really fun to try and figure out how the world and mechanics interact. I hope it'll still be fun once I actually understand what is going on.
I hope Dark Souls 3 does its job well. I have (for myself) a pretty good chart that tells how I enjoyed pvp that is the best part of the game.
In Dark Souls 1 I enjoyed 6 or 7 pvp matches out of 10 matches.
In Dark souls 2 I enjoyed 2-3 pvp matches out of 10 matches
In Bloodborne it's about 4-5 matches out of 10 matches
Dark Souls 2 was just horrible piece of dogshit from beginning to this moment. Maximum damage exploiters everywhere, pvp was nothing more that just fishing crits or stunlocking to death.
Even in DkS1 where chaos rapiers, dark magic and darkmoon blades ruled, not so many were using them. And of course I had my mage that had 3 combat spells, melee gear and of course 2 gank punishment spells.
Dark souls 2 = shit
Bloodborne = good looking almost perfect pve but meh-tier pvp
>All these people talking about how pro they are for killing idiots in Dark Souls pvP
Are you fags serious? You actually take the PvP seriously? Dark Souls PvP has always been unbalanced as fuck. God, 'fight club' fags are the worst.
Can't wait for the game soundtrack rip.
No, I think I will just keep enjoying myself doing PVP on the Iron Keep bridge with the peace of mind that you fgts will never git gud enough to be there. Stop making all these grandiose claims like you speak for an entire community. I've beat every souls game on multiple playthroughs, and I say with complete confidence that where DeS, and DaS1 clearly had better PvE worlds, DaS2 was way ahead in the PvP category.
I get the feeling you were the flip ring havel fags from DaS1, and you are upset there's more than 1 viable PvP build now, so you quit.
the fighting system feels a lot like soul calibur lite
once you put that into mind, the game is a lot easier
especially when you make a broken moveset from all your moves
Lol have fun with your r1 spam simulator.
People always praised DS for having methodical combat that rewarded patience and caution. Then BB comes along and gives everyone shiny cool gadgets, and now DS is "too slow".
Does it make a difference where you PvP?
>judging eary on das2 with patched das1
DaS1 pvp used to be dominated by ninjaflipping giantdads, it was the literal most optimal build and everything else was shit compared to it until they nerfed it.
Dark Souls 2 used to be just as unbalanced as prepatch dark souls 1 but they fixed it with patches, nowadays you see varied builds in pvp and none of what you are describing.
Just started playing Bloodborne a few days ago. I just beat Vicar Amelia and I went back to the Father boss's lantern and there's this hunter that kicks my ass every time.
Any help? How the fuck are you supposed to deal with a fucker that fast? I'm using a +3 cleaver by the way.
So basically, Miyazaki wants to make DaS1 again but with more cool stuff and call it DaS3.
I can dig it. So long as poise is back and armor actually does something this time, the gameplay can be the best of all Souls games. I also assume the weapons will be more unique and we won't get 50 same greatswords like in DaS2. That would be nice.
Miyazaki has to start watching idolmaster.
Idolmaster is the key to genius.
DSII was such a disappointment. Miyazaki was initially directing it, but then Sony payed From a shitton of money to get him to make bloodborne. It was all downhill from there.
For this reason I will forever fucking hate Sony and bloodborne because it took the perfect Miyazaki directed dark souls II away from us. From proved their wallet was more important than their fans.
FUCK YOU SONY, FUCK YOU FROM.
I tried pvp almost anywhere, including dlc-areas. If not gank'd to death then someone just stuffed that fucking spear up my ass or killed me with that one STR weapon that killed anyone when crit... oh wait, thats almost 90% of STR weapons.
i don't actually mind the way the end game is structured. Since it is the end game.
Dukes archives is just outside Anor Londo, New Londo is easily accessible from the start of the game, ToG is the end of the catacombs. Lost Izalith is the one furthest away from firelink but even then it gives you a shortcut back into the swamp through the bridge with the tit demon.
BB would have been a lot more enjoyable with a couple of tweaks to world design. If going through Old Yharnam gave you access to the church workshop so you could open the door from behind it back into Oedon Chapel it would have been great. It would seamlessly give you acces to a new area of Cathedral Ward without making you backtrack.
>Complaining about strength weapons
They're slow as fuck, how do you even let them hit you? You have no excuse to get hit by a strength weapon if you're using a dex based weapon, as your attacks are much faster and you use way less stamina. You're probably just bad.
>you have to duel specifically in this area
There's the problem. Dark Souls 2 Invasions sucked ass. You know? The main PvP mechanic that was so great in DeS and DaS? They destroyed it for dueling faggots that love to min/max with their shitty builds.
I disagree with you based on my personal experiences. No matter how many times I've went back because of sweet talking, I just came back because I remembered that it's no fun that everyting 1 or 2 hits you.
>make 99 vitality!
>R1 spam is methodical and patient
The genius of DS1 was that you had to be patient and find openings to attack. If you got hit, you had to be patient and avoid more damage until you had time to heal.
Bloodborne punishes you for being cautious and rewards agression. Healing can be acomplished by either spamming r1 after getting hit or just smashing an insta blood estus. It's shit. And the pvp is fucking pure cancer
Aside from the rule of always doing melee first time round, my second save is going to be a cryomancer. Hopefully they don't half ass that addition. I want more than just that frostbite status effect, seeing as its supposed to be a counter to the themes of DaS1.
Did anyone understand shit what was going on in Bloodborne without looking up the story online? In DaS, I had a vague understanding of what was going on but in BB, it was all so vague to the point of absurdity. I hope they don't make it as vague in DS3.
>dominated by ninja flipping giant dads
I saw about two of these in the entirety of my hours playing. When I saw a giant dad, they were only in it for the meme, so I laughed my ass off.
DaS2 however was a bunch of edgy max stat katana waifufags in a dueling arena.
stop being such a whiny bitch. Namco was greedy and used DS2 as a cashgrab instead of delaying it till Myazaki could direct it and make it a good game. DS2's poor quality is entirely on Namco, not sony
I beat great weapons all the time with my duel caestus build. Just get close. The real OP shit is Rapiers. They are faster than fist weapons, and usually stunlock on 1 hit.
How come I'm such a huge shitter in Souls games but managed to kill this boss, on my first try, without lightning the room on fire?
I didn't even have Bastlle key (because blind run and no branch of Yore), so I don't understand how people claim everywhere it's a tough fight.
I had my ass handed to me on the 3 sentinels, tho.
and Duke's freja killed me like 10 times. Almost made me quit because of the shitty travel times from bonfire to boss room.
>That murakumo helicopter attack
I CAN'T STOP COMING
>Bloodborne punishes you for being cautious and rewards agression
Wow that seems like it's the fucking whole point of the game, you have to play aggressive and not act like a total fucking vagina behind a shield until your enemy does it's animation so you can get 1 hit in.
Fucking Christ you are stupid as shit, they are different games and have different play styles.
Or backstabbed either way it's shit. And that this only a fraction of shit thats going on in Dks2. Then there is magic spammers and stunlock-kings and weapons that kill with 2 hit etc... Everything is fucking fun.
>Bloodborne is r1 spam
>People still complaining about Santier's Spear AKA please parry my stupid face
>People having problem with Hexers when Dark Rebel Greatshield shuts them down completely
But DaS2 literally had more broken shit than flipping giantdads lmao.
You're just a shittier who got too used to pre-buffing yourself in full Havels with 20 spells before inviting an invader in then spamming shitter Hexes and one shotting everything. Kill yourself and acquire skill.
I bet you were a mundane Santier's user at the beginning, then a monestay scim Jesterfag after that got nerfed kek.
I'll probably have to replay the tutorial first, I've forgotten how to do the sidesteps and the red-bar supermove thing.
I also have no idea how to learn and upgrade different styles yet besides occasionally finding one through sheer luck, but figuring all that out is part of the fun.
Man that image is so hype. As if we'll be able to close in on that sun. I'm probably going to be disappointed thinking like this though.
First round? I'm going to go spellsword with Ice/Pyromancy myself, and a dash of sorcery and miracles. Ice for maximum edge. But no katana for me. Saber or rapier yes.
Depending on my how well I fare with DaS3 I may opt for a wield-it-all build instead, just to experience everything.
One things for sure I'm not going to last against strength fags in PVP with what I'm planning. But that's not what I'm playing souls games for.
Could you show me GOOD Dks2 pvp gameplay? All I ever see is just fucking hurry spam r1 or run for the crit or spam dem magic or here's double evelyn on 1 hit doom or some bullshit like that.
I said NINJAFLIPPING giant dads
Before patches happened the dark wood grain ring let you ninjaflip under 50% equipment load, and the father mask gave you 15% more equipment load instead of the 5% it does today.
That meant it was objectively the best build since it both had the best mobility (ninja flipping) and the best defence (since it's the giants armour), there where no downsides like with specialized builds.
>The PvP is really spammy unless you enter a good fight club
Or you could learn to fucking parry R1 hungry spammy shitters.
Holy shit, literally the easiest parry mechanic in the series and you bitch about R1 spam.
Lol. DaS2 fags duel on a little ass bridge all fucking day while in the previous games you could actually invade about anywhere without grinding orbs and worrying about soul memory.
I bet even after DaS3 release you will be sad and go back to your little bridge.
You get the general gist of it by reading items and hearing out characters.
What I learned the first time before looking up shit:
>The Hunt is bullshit
>People hate hunters
>The Church are a bunch of lying scumbags
>People of Yharnam are all addicted to blood, use it like drugs
>You need to stop a ritual from happening to avoid a big monster apocalypse
>Alien gods have weird motivations
>The doll is probably a Great One, maybe
>Alien gods, unlike the actual Lovecraft works, can get their shit slapped around by you
>The dream worlds/nightmares are as real as real world shit
>Micolash is a crazy cunt
>Not all Great Ones are evil pricks
>Powder Kegs were fucking awesome, post-DLC confirms they were even more fucking awesome than initially thought
>Gherman is more important than I thought, he was the first fucking hunter ever
>Clothing and weapons came from Gherman's fighting style and preferences, followed by all hunters after him, so this explains why no one really wears any real armor
>Gherman is a dexfag
>He is also very, very sad
That's about it. Chalice dungeon lore shit is a pain in the ass to go through, but you can also get a lot from that. It's not too complicated if you pay attention to the environment and read descriptions. I understand why you could get lost in it, though.
>DS3 will never have glorious Summons like Jester Thomas, Sellsword Luet, Bradley of the Old Guard, or
Maldron The Assassin.
I really hope the guy in charge of coming up where these phantoms is still on board.
>Dark Souls Story
>Interesting symbolism of life, death, light, dark
>Fascinating connection between hollowing, humanity, your character and the story
>Choice between the dark and light, two sides of the same coin, neither of which are truly evil
>Light fire and extend age of fire,
>Become dark lord and create an age of dark
>magic werewolf blood
>it was ayyliens
>muh evil healing church because they bad
>muh crazy hunters
>muh retarded bell bitches
>you become le wheelchair man
>you become ayyliens
>it was all a dream
yes the good
>let me just add muh and incredibly vague descriptions of things
that's the best argument in the world
>muh dark soul no one understands me
>muh undead just like my soul
>muh talking berserk monsters
>muh i kill u gwyn now im king lol
>muh i save the day!!!!!!
I looked at Steamspy. Dark Souls is 2.3 million. Dark Souls + SOTFS is 1,7 million. Pretty good for mustard only sales considering how most console games sell like trash on PC.
Release date is going to be interesting.
>DS1fags vs BBfags vs DS2fags vs DS3fags while DeSfags enjoy the fire.
Oh yeah the only difference being the fact they would have maxed out hp, more armor than you and more damage than you. But yeah other than that exactly the same as everybody else.
>probably because most humans are like ants to us
kinda don't have a choice because of soul memory. i'd guarantee you it wouldn't have ever been a problem in the first place if they stuck exclusively with soul level-based matchmaking
Last one with the word "Souls" in the title. Bloodborne and DaS2 and DaS3 were contracted before Miyazaki became president.
More Souls games were made to profit off the marketability of the name. However, you can't trademark a single word in a formatted title, so the entire ___ Souls format needs to be dropped.
More games will be made similar to the Souls games, but they won't be named that. Nor will they be in the same universe. Then again, DaS2 and 3 may as well not be in the same universe.
Honourfags and duelfags are what ruined the series' PVP.
The entire idea behind DeS PVP was to invade to make someone's progression more difficult or be invaded to get a rush of 'oh shit' while you're going through the game. It wasn't supposed to be 'fair' and it was never made for dueling.
Thanks to honourfags and duelfags constantly bitching, they made PVP almost non-existent in DaS2 by turning invasion items into a fucking consumable that you could only start getting half way through the game which cost a fortune, so you either suffered through that or just did your shitty red/blue arena trash filled with nothing but tryard metashitters with the same 2 builds.
Then they made it so there's only 2 areas in the whole of Bloodborne where bell maiden's spawned without the host having to look for co-op to be able to be susceptible to being invaded.
Now fucking Dark Souls 3, you can only invade a host when he's in ember form (40% more fucking HP, and actively looking for co-op).
Souls PVP is dead as fuck, they have done nothing but progressively ruin the entire point of it.
Me too, all this stupid "muh ds1 is better than your ds2" arguing is annoying.
There will be fags who will shit all over ds3 just because they are a 1 or 2 fanboy.
>Souls PVP is dead as fuck, they have done nothing but progressively ruin the entire point of it.
And it is all thanks to you fags who thing you are good because you run around with OP builds.
GG, you cucked yourselves.
>Everyone that invade is a twink
How about play the games on release? Release time invasions in DeS, DaS and BB were fucking GOAT. Everyone with shitty little scrapper builds fightan in Boletaria/Burg.
Twink shit only starts happening a few months after release when everyone gets bored and decide to pick on newbies.
DaS2's biggest problem was it didn't even fucking have launch time invasions, literally the one major thing everyone complained about when DaS2 came out.
Blood Pools were by far the best addition to Scholar
They shouldn't base their PVP system for anything, that's the entire point. Restricting invasions to end game in DaS2 killed the fun of progressing through the game and getting invaded, that shit was a thrill in DeS/DaS.
You're literally asking for less features and more restrictions. At the very most they should simply just disallow the ability to invade people <level 20, like in Bloodborne (it was 30 in that).
Just because you're a fucking scrub that needs to get to endgame and find out what the latest meme build is to enjoy PVP doesn't mean they should've outright remove PVP from early game.
That's true, if there's anything DaS2 did right it was the summon system, fucking 100x easier to get co-op than DaS.
SM is dumb as hell, but I seem to get constant co-op and bell invasions even at this stage of the game.
I get the feeling the game would not be so hated if the matchmaking was SL based.
