>>323564143 Nope, I've had the same group of 5 or so friends for the past six years. Couldn't care less about anyone else on my friend list. In fact just had a guy remove me yesterday who I was "dating" since he thought I was a girl. Couldn't take his annoying ass anymore, had to break up with him. Got about $40~ worth of Steam games from it though so it's all good.
One friend I cut ties with for his constant bitchdom I felt bad about for a while. I looked him up last year and found his twitter where he named himself "The Derpy Pony" and constantly tweeted about how friendzoned he was.
If he had gone to /v/ he would have been the first person to complain about anime and waifufagged Hitomi from DoA constantly calling her "his little frauline"
I've had the same group of friends for what I just realized is nearly six years. I've only removed one person, and that was really recently. He was really annoying when we first met, but got better over the years. Then he just got really bitchy. Really, really bitchy.
Someone I was friends with for 8 years became a friend collector who made his life revolve around playing multiplayer games only. I decided to remove him since we had not spoken very much and he liked to bullshit how he didnt put his best friend above all the erpers he had added.
wait, there's more people like us? I ended up being deleted by someone who had been my best friend for the past 5 years, we were incredibly close. Then he ended up fucking around with some other faggot in a messed up eRP nonsense way and completely forgot about me.
He tried to look me up recently but I gave him the cold shoulder, he got all buttloaded and removed me.
I've seen people say this happens to them a lot on /v/ but I use one of my rpg/tg names for every account I use and they are all pretty clearly feminine names (one I don't use much is "Asdis Stojorna", for example, but they all follow the same sort of design) and I have never had someone orbit me like this.
Beyond that, I even am a George Foreman and I talk on team chat when appropriate and I still have never fucking once has someone add me because they thought I was a grill, let alone start acting like a pathetic beta orbiter and buying me games and shit.
I play a good deal of online games. This seems like such bullshit to me, I don't buy it.
>>323578104 Hi! Few things to start off with =] 1. Yes I added you because you're a female gamer, 'tis an awesome thing to see! 2. I'm Brian. 3. Don't be intimidated, but I'm not a stereotypical guy. If anything, I'll be the one in the kitchen =D.
>Friend 1 >"Hey we have similar taste, I added you so we can play games and talk about things!" >Never talked again >Dalated after 6 months
>Friend 2 >Playing some online game together >"You good man, let's be friends and play together" >Next day >"Hey there is GTA V on sale can you buy me one since you have XXXX games on Steam?" >Blocked and deleted
>Friend 3 ><link deleted> >Blocked, deleted and reported
>Friend 4 >Silence since he added me >forgot to delete him, done right now
>Friend 5 >"Hey you just dropped this nice weapon in CSGO want to trade for some cases?"
Welp, that's my friend history. After that I just block and ignore everyone, why waste my time when I can just enjoy games. Sadly, it's nothing like it was, for example, on xfire (RIP) - Steam might be bigger and better but sadly community is just shit.
>>323564143 I don't know if any of you played Zombie Panic source, but I was WCZP -IRONCLAD-
Some of you may still be on my list. Anywho, it was one of the most popular servers. At some point, it changed hands, and this douche named PermaBlazzed took over. The guy definitely didn't smoke weed, and was the whiney Bitch type that would ban people for doing better than him.
Decided to play L4D2 with him, he threw a glossy fit, I called him out on it, and he banned me from WCZP. I don't regret calling him out on his juvenile shit at all. Eventually the server switched hands again, and he got banned. The ban list was cleared, my admin privileges, and I was welcomed back with open arms.
99.999% of the people on my friends list were people I met in game. I have no real connection to them. If they are playing a game I play, I might drop in and say hi, but that was the only instance where anyone on my list really pissed me off.
>>323581319 It was years ago, we used to play vidya together or chat. I was one of those lonely faggots who took internet friendships too personally, overall I acted like a retard. When I realised that, I felt ashamed, and I removed him. Probably I wanted to forget about all that stupid shit I did, I'm not sure
>>323582347 If you add someone to your friends I think you should be the one starting to talk about some stuff. If he didn't even tried, then why should I bother? You are the one adding me, so why don't you make a little effort and try to talk about something? But yeah, maybe I'm just boring fucking loser so that's why I think that way not some other.
>>323564143 Yeah, I used to have a friend that I played games and ERP'd with on Steam and Battle.net who was really good, then one day started taking things out on me very OOCly. Calling me, not the character I was pretending to be, names and things like that before segueing into more real world domination and even making me buy him games. I came buckets and buckets but ended up deleting him in shame the next day
Sine then I've grown a huge taste for exactly what the kind of bullying they did and desperately want more of that, but have never found anyone remotely near as good at it they were.
>>323585000 I could see making friends on Starbound and Terraria, I guess, though I've never played them. I've barely played Dota admittedly but both times I did I was the only English speaker on my team ><
>>323584589 Not that guy but basically any time I would play any sort of team-based game (competitive or co-op) as long as I wasn't a douche I'd have people friend request me. Some of it will just be "you don't suck at video games, play them with me sometimes" and sometimes it's along the lines of "you seem pretty cool".
If you're social it's easier for people to respond to you.
>>323585152 Even when I try to be social nothing really comes of it. I'll say hi or whatever at the start of the match, maybe comment on a thing or two and the team will remain dead silent. At least not since, like, Halo 2 and Burning Crusade.
>>323585512 Some games are just better for it than others. Co-op games like Killing Floor are pretty much guaranteed to net you some interesting folks after long enough. You might need to be the one to reach out first, though.
>>323564143 Nah. The only time I remove someone is if they try to drag me into some high school tier drama crap. Shit man I just wanna play video games and talk about video games with you not get thrown in the middle of your fight with your internet girlfriend.
