As for alt costumes, chun dress is just a bit revealing than other versions of that dress, she's just fucking flying in the air and throwing kicks of course its looking revealing.
This is not Dead or Alive, they're not wearing those things just because they're hot, there's a lot of thought put into how those things work in that character and how can they affect them in fight with an eye for what's aesthetically pleasing.
The over done body parts are also a staple of the series and goes for both male and female, this originally was so the arms and legs were the focus of the attacks and to the player.

And lastly, it's a comic styled videogame, grow up, you're not supposed to think realistically of it because there's so much other non realistic shit, some eye candy on everyone won't affect that and it just makes the experience better.
