The Vita is a great system, though. It just isn't marketed much in the US, and casuals seem to follow the crowds that say it is a dead system with no games.

This is what pushed SE to stop making side stories for KH and to continue with the main series with KH3.

Business for the PSP didn't even pick up until Liberty City Stories came out in 06/07 (I forgot which year). Back then, it was fucking mind blowing that one could fit the chaos of modern GTA games on a handheld.

Although honestly you're probably right. After the Vita's massive failure combined with the ongoing competition brought by smartphones and Sony's interest in turning PlayStation into more of a service than a line of consoles, the odds of them ever doing another handheld are pretty slim.
