Have you cosplayed?
I can't think of anything since I am a bald black bearmode guy.
A couple years ago, not that great though.
Never have before, I want to cosplay Rashid from SFV.
Here is something for you.
As for the question, no. it's to expensive for me. i'd love to try it though it always looks so fun.
>in this sub
What the fuck are you saying, love?
I cosplayed as Kazuichi Souda from Dangan Ronpa 2 last Otakon. Was my first cosplay.
Went really well. Outfit was high quality and my wig was styled well so I got a lot of picture requests. WAY more than I thought. Also got to join a few Dangan photo shoots. I'm black but I"m not bear mode so maybe that helped.
Might re-do Kazuichi this year or do Shiunin Sora from Arc- V
I went as Jacket from Hotline Miami for a con.
>ayyy look I'm from reddit!
>every (you) i get is an upboat!
Is the attractive cosplay whores thread?
I have a few images and gifs.
Didn't take many myself, but I wouldn't wanna post too much anyway.
Such a shame the damn zipper broke on the last day.
>Can't think of anything
That's like 75% of Black Men in media.
Unless you mean fat when you say bear mode.
That's for fat girls anon.
Be better than fat girls.
Also you could also try body covering cosplays if accuracy is important to you.
Being a vaguely eastern euro looking guy with a collection of military surplus, I cosplay as STALKERs regularly.
>bald black bearmode guy.
Get a wig and be pic related
I still need to get into lifting.
The fact that I'm poor, and live over half an hour away from the gym, and the only thing keeping me from being a complete shut-in is that I need to go to work are also kind of limiting factors on my motivation.
fuck meant to write something, anyway you can do some lol bullshit.
Like here I did a heimerdinger costume with most basic material two days beforehand.
Pic related is last time. Fucking plebs only like three people recognized the cosplay.
You can do something else from hotline and no one cares of your size since its not really specified in the game. Hell I think there's even a black guy
Go as Bear Walken from Gungrave.
>I am a bald black bearmode guy.
Go for fat CJ.
All you need is to follow damn train.
That's not video games
Either Bigby wolf like >>323487385 said, or you could pull off Solid/Venom/Naked Snake.
Shit, if you're tall enough, you could go the /a/ route of cosplaying as Thorkell the Tall out of Vinland Saga (and real life, as it turns out)
Find some chick to be Saber then just be her companion
What? I'm not showing my face
Just wanted to show the cosplay.
Laura needs to go back to that outfit, goddamn.
>that guy dressed up as fucking brain age
Jeffry McWild. He's actually an aboriginal, but you could probably pull it off.
I went as Mr Foster a while back, though I probably wouldn't again as the gas mask is a legit cold war surplus one and uncomfortable as fuck, especially when your hair gets longer
Sure you are.
And no, if you're not being paid to, cosplaying is for autistic retards.
Shaman King Yo Asakura
Vidya related since I only knew him from the game back then.
>I can't think of anything since I am a bald black bearmode guy
Try being a white bearmode guy. That's way harder. There are plenty of big black guys in media.
I'd like to, but my build tends to get in the way. Even if I were to slim down a bit, I'd still be larger in stature than most characters I'd like to cosplay. It's a shame, but I'm cool with it. I more or less go to conventions and the like for the atmosphere.
You can always go as the complete opposite of what you are. Seeing a big black guy cosplay as Max from Life is Strange would be hilarious.
Can't do any of that shit at cons anymore, unfortunately. No airsoft, no real military/police stuff.
I went to a con cosplaying Joshua Graham and they got pissed because of the SLCPD thing on the side, and made me cover it with a sticker.
I went to a different con wearing an XCOM outfit and they got pissed at me because it looked too military.
Con officials are probably the worst people on the planet.
So what'd you do for the EA mask?
Take it off everytime you moved or did you poke lil eyeholes in it
black baron could be cool if you can pull it off
Should I do this?
My build is thinner but I don't care
I just dont want to shave my beard if I dont have to
When I was 15 I cosplayed as naota from flcl this was when that show was really popular. So at the con I went to there were lots of Harukos and Mamimis. They all thought I was cute I guess cause a lot of random weeb girls were running up and hugging me and dragging me around everywhere..at one point there were two groups of girls fighting over me.
Afterwards I went back to being a shut in beta. It was the best day of my life though.
I'm beyond shit at costume making so I was going to go to my next con as something really easy and silly that'd grab people's attention and I was just curious as to how I'd go about doing something like that
But even that seems like it'd be too difficult for me.
As someone that doesnt cosplay, is race bending like this acceptable? Because it looks cringe very cringe worthy. I personally would like to cosplay as Darth Vader, Master Chief, or Ken from SF. Would probably go Ken as that is easiest if I ever do.
No but only because I can never think of anything good to cosplay as (i am 6'2 250lb with long blonde hair)
Last con I went to i died my hair and mustache green and wore all green each day
I don't know where to get the clothes for who I actually look like a shit ton.
Where could I find clothes like these anyway without them being custom-made? I don't have experience with crafts or any of that so I just end up not even trying.
My hair though is virtually identical if I put a hat on and comb it just right, and my physique is pretty much spot on.
And even if I managed to get all that there aren't even cosplay events where I live so why bother.
zack from dead or alive, you'll need 15 more pounds of muscle though
Yeah actually. Just got back from Comic Con.
yea my ex and i did once
will do it again soon to megacon
itll be better though
Be Rico from just cause 2
I dont know who I could cosplay as but ive always wanted to. it would have to be someone who drinks a lot
Detective David Young
He loves Tequila
I want to try and go as Vernon Roche this year, i have to make that crossbow though.
I'm pretty much the right build for fat official, even got the laugh down, but I don't even know where to begin finding the parts to make his outfit.
I've been 9 stone (maybe 125 pounds?) since I was 15 and nothing I can do changes it. I've eaten complete shit to get extra calories, eaten healthily and exercised/gone to the gym, eaten large amount of healthier food in smaller, more frequent meals, drank my own weight in water, and no matter what I haven't shifted a pound either side. It's frustrating as fuck, I can't put any muscle on until I have some bulk to work with.
I'm currently using the "shit ton of trail mix" technique, seeing how that goes.
Not him but here's some more of her
I would allow her to suck my soul out through my benis
Did Shanoa one year, the glyphs took my friend forever to paint on my back and arms, and were smudging by the end of the day. Sexy as all fuck though except I cheaped out on the armored parts a bit.
>Miriam looks qt and stylish as fuck
>has even more complex markings, with detailed designs all over her body
Nah, I'll pass on that one, someone more autistic than me will do a better job.
>Want to cosplay as Frank West.
>Eye balls deteroriate and I need glasses before I have enough cash to blow on a high end leather jacket.
Anyone have any experience with prescription sun glasses? I'm contemplating his Off The Record look.
>cosplaying some weeb trash no one gives a shit about
I'd like to try but i don't think I look enough like anyone to do them justice
They're pretty good. I've got super-fucked eyes and the only issue I have with them is that on certain surfaces (Most notably anything digital) there's colour distortion.
Don't even joke about that my brother died that way
Cosplay whoever the fuck you want. Race shouldn't be a barrier.
What pisses me off is fucking. FATASSES. Cosplaying thin characters.
>tfw never tasted black sugar
What's it like, anon? White, latina, and asian bitches are easy to get, but nubian women are never into me.
I have glasses and wear contacts whenever I go outside. They're actually comfier than glasses.
Only downside is putting them on in the morning and taking them off in the evening.
>tfw asian girls i dated scream "oi oi oi oi" during intercourse
you really don't want that
I went looking for them to post but I cant find them. I really hope they werent on the external that just died not that long ago.
And yeah, I figure I could replicate the design, vector it, then get them printed as transfer tattoos if end up doing the cosplay anyways, but my photoshop fu is rusty.
>do a District 9 cosplay
>literally made from electric tape, a beer can, foam and whatever I can find in my closet
>people still like it though
>kids as young as 8 recognizing Wikus
Any tips who I can cosplay as?
People compare me to this actor from GoT, but 1,86m, a lot more hairy and burly
Are cons like this? They are actually worse than typical clubfags
>Skinny with some muscle
I don't agree. I mean depends on the type but most hot hispanic girls stay hot for a long time.
But you're right about trying at least once.
Might get my first (light skin) black girl soon.
I cosplayed Kanji Tatsumi back at Otacon 2009 or 08 when I was 17 or so.
It was pretty cool, everyone likes Kanji.
California anime cons.
It's because they don't want people to think you're actually police in an emergency or some bullshit like that.
At one I had a bow for children, and they told me that it wasn't allowed. Keep in mind there are people with giant wooden and metal weapons, but oh no, my balsa wood bow and rubber tipped arrows are really going to kill someone.
I grabbed a real bow and arrows and just carried it around without peace bonding it instead, though. Fuck them.
You can cosplay almost anyone with a little chunk as long as your wig/make up/costume is really welldone to be honest. Worst case scenario go to the /cgl/ catalog and use the cosplay suggestion thread. Seriously as long as you go for really high quality workmanship you are good
I crossplay Handsome Jack and I have yet to get into a bad cosplay thread so just work hard!
Oh shit that might actually work, thanks a bunch
If your worried about your body or skin, do something with armor.
I'm thinking of doing Seigmeyer.
>scruffy dark brown hair and glasses
Other than Harry Potter I got nothing. I can't go as anyone with average build since I'm a skelly but I'm not tall enough to play the skinny characters either.
I want to but I have no idea who I could even possibly do
shit picture but here's literally the only one I have that isn't years old
Seagull here everyone in this damn thread wear a wig it makes yoir cosplay look polished, they aren't hard to find and there are so many tutorials and commissioners that its simple. It just looks better and opens your possibilities up. Same with light makeup so your photos don't look like asshole.
I did Billy Kane last year for Acen. Would do again, but my stick needs repairs and I'm not attending this year.
>friends force me to a weeb/gaming con
>bearded, depressed self loathing alcoholic
>one loans me their ash ketchum costume that fits
>see a misty cosplayer with a huge ass
>our chat doesn't go anywhere
>last thing I remember is chasing a team rocket cosplayer and smashing into a booth
>wake up next to some chubby chick in a hotel
>see some goth lolita dress that must have been hers
>leave without a word
>ride home on bus
>ash ketchum costume is ruined save for shoes and hat
>tears, stains and bodily fluids
>try to 'hunch up' or do shit to obscure the stains
>remember some lady on the bus commenting about my appearance
>gasped as I told her to "fuck herself"
>still remember turning back around to see a young childs shocked expression and the immediate wave of shame I felt
went as magicka's bathrobe wizards for a local con once, im red
I haven't seen ones that look like the ones that MSF soldiers wear. It's got some sort of jawline protector or something that you don't see on any balaclavas. Plus it looks like the material is made of rubber something, not wool or cloth.
I keep meaning to go as wolverine since I look close enough to pass when i have my beard.
Might shave and grow out my hair and go as Junpei from 999 or alto from Stella Glow and have no one recognize me instead.
I've heard conflicting suggestions when it comes to exercise. Some think it'll burn the calories I'm eating, others think I need to kickstart my body into working properly and exercise'll help. It's annoying as fuck.
10/10 would take quirky picture with at con
You don't have to always try and be a Black guy. I know if I ever cosplay it's going to be Mugen from Samurai Champloo. My mom already messed with my hair to wear it's basically straightened last time I went to go see her. I even thought about doing Spike or Taichi Yagami
>being sad after fucking chubby chick
>caring what people on the bus think
Are you fucking retarded?
>dutch from black lagoon
he's bald, black, has a beard, and a badass
I cosplayed as Box Gundam at Otakon last year. I'm a short fat neckbeard so I don't really know what I could cosplay as vidya related. I was maybe thinking of doing Yangus for some cons this year.
You could be Drebin from mgs4, or the guy on the cover of age of empires 2: African kingdoms
Look like pic related but with longer curlier hair.
>tfw half black and half white
>can't accurately cosplay anyone interesting
Ive been Sera from Dragon Age and a kind of crap Sora from KH.
>implying Sera isnt best girl
No. Its a really cool but niche character, it'll turn out good only if you have either the PERFECT build or a small team of dedicated people to it.
Also you have to be experienced in making this shit. And have a lot of money. All that leather is expensive, without even talking of the armor.
You can cosplay literally anything within a reasonable range of your skin tone. Plus
>need to go a bit paler? stay inside and wear sunscreen when you go out
>a bit darker? go outside more (as long as its sunny where you live)
Cosplaying a very dark skinned character when you're white as a sheet is generally frowned upon, yes, but really do whatever you want. Fuck tumblr and fuck cgl. Just have fun.
Not me but
someone I dated briefly
Not vidya, but I've done Kamina and DIO and will be doing Kira at Anime Boston this year.
>that guy's pose in the background
Comrade, if we ever meet at same con, I share my vodka.
nah, just solo. I did manage to scrape together enough cosplayers to do a RO photoshoot the day after that, though.
>learn to pose a lil better
>i like your hat
You have a unique appearance that a lot of cosplayers cant copy without extensive makeup. Use that you your advantage and cosplay characters that fit you. Dont want to show your face? Wear a costume with a mask/helmet. You have to work with what you've got.
I've wanted to cosplay for a while now but I have no idea who to go as. I'm willing to shave, trim and straighten my hair if necessary.
I have the same hair and facial hair, but with more masculine facial features.
Give me a Jojo idea and I'll meet you there.
I did as this guy, but I am afraid of posting a photo.
Nice. Seems like you have a decent range on characters/costumes, something I'm still working on.
When I did Billy, the only other SNK guy at the fighting game meet-up was a Geese. Dude was a total bro, and he also did a Hunter from Desinty and a totally cute Luka from Project Diva.
wear a wig wear a wig wear a mother fucking wig
seriously though, the only reason you should go without a wig is if
>youre bald and cosplaying a bald character
>your character has a shaved head and you shave your head accordingly
Other than that wear a wig and style it with a bit of spray. Even cheap ebay shit is better than nothing.
that's cool. I was planning on going as Tiger Man from LISA at this year's SakuraCon, but I doubt I'll run into any other cosplayers from that game. It's probably going to be flooded with Undertale people this year.
>probably going to be flooded with Undertale people this year
Undertale is the new 5NAF, is the new Homestuck, is the MLP. That weird, sorta-related fandom that will infect every con, regardless of theme, because of its infectious popularity with the target age demographic. I wish you courage and strength in all cons you attend this year.
I haven't cosplayed since 2009 and this was my first and only cosplay. Spent less than a day getting all the materials I needed to make the costume, which involved going to burger king and getting spandex.
It was pretty fun, but too autistic for to want to ever do it again.
>I don't have experience with crafts or any of that so I just end up not even trying.
I've made a couple shirts and hats for myself, much like cooking success depends on having the 'ingredients', the equipment, the instructions and the will to actually put some fucking love and effort into what you're making. Which is to say that it's not hard at all to start making clothes for yourself if you have some dosh for an initial investment.
As for cosplay, I'm much in the same boat that I just don't care for cons and there's very little reason to cosplay otherwise. I've thought I might be a good fit for Hilbert or N, or maybe the player character from SMT1.
Or dress as a character who wears a helmet or mask. I'm sure everyone is aware of those possibilities, though. It's just that every additional product that's required to complete a costume is enough to scare off new cosplayers.
Having similar features with a character goes a long way when trying to nail a cosplay too.
Besides P4 MC, what character wears black hipster glasses? I have regular glasses as well but those are uncomfortable.
No, I won't be Otacon.
