Was a pretty solid game all around. Better engine than Brawl, great roster, fun game modes, and is still receiving balance updates.

I know it's not really that great of a game, but Shovel Knight hit all the right buttons for me, and is probably one of my top 5 favorite games.

Are we counting 3DS and Vita? If so, Kid Icarus Uprising and Gravity Rush. The latter especially for lots of reasons that just make it basically my ideal game.

As far as home consoles go I think only Smash U has entered that territory for me this gen. But it's Smash so yeah.

Only The Wonderful 101 has landed on my all-time favorites, but I've enjoyed a lot of games this generation so far, including The Witcher 3, Bayo 2, GTA V, Tropical Freeze, Undertale, and Super Mario Maker, if that even counts as a game.

Oh right, and NSMBU/NSLU were pretty much everything I could have asked for in a 2D Mario game, with the challenges, speedrun levels, and overall amount of content and secrets. Despite all that I can't rank them very high since I still got occasionally got bored while playing them, due to the overall formula being so extremely stale to me.
