Final Fantasy XII is a good game.

FF XII is a fun game because any discussion about it will always end up in 50-50 between fans and haters, and this sub isn't an exception to that. Just compare it to something like VI or VII that are enjoyed by everyone and to XIII that is almost universally hated.

That applies to every post-X FF game. Even XIII. XV will be no exception, FF fans will loathe it because it doesn't play or have a world layout like I through IX do.

Fran is boring, Basch is boring and pointless (he does nothing but follow Ashe), Larsa is boring but at least he's important. I admit to forgetting about Gabranth and Reddas.

I liked the gambit system, it let you decide how much control you wanted over the characters
Want to grind without much fuss? Activate everyone's gambits and just move forward
Wanna have some fun? Turn most, or all the gambits off, set the battle system to active and battle speed to max
I think every rpg with AI characters should implement a similar system

Vaan and Penelo should've been erased though, and the story should've focused more on the political scheming in Archadia instead of finding the next Magicite/Nethicite/Shard/Sword/MacGuffin
