Anyone excited for this game? Apparently it comes out for western release in just over a month.
I remember the first being really good with its battle system.
No because Bravely Default was an incredibly average to out right bad game and was one of the most disappointing games I've played at the time. Not only that but I heard nothing but bad things about the sequel from those who imported the game. The least I will do is pirate it.
First was mediocre as fuck. The entire second half of the game was a slog and even ignoring that, the game didn't really do enough to set itself apart from older FF games.
Still semi-interested in this as long as we don't end up with more loop bullshit.
I own around 30 none pirated 3DS games already and I'm not going to install CFW for nothing faggot. Why would I buy a sequel to a game I didn't like in the first place, especially since the sequel is apparently worse? Get the fuck out of here.
No, because they seem to be reusing a shit ton from the first game, and despite all the hype, the game was largely disappointing.
Minus the "Second half", the characters were really poorly written, nothing really happens in the story, exposition moments are terribly handled, the soundtrack is 2 fucking tracks for 90% of the game, the game is so easily broken and the starting jobs are entirely useless.
THe character models leave a lot to be desired too. I dunno, I don't think anything was memorable or well done with the game, I'm surprised I managed to finish it considering how much I put it on hold.
So again, no, I will probably pirate it and give it a try to see if it picks up but I feel its unlikely. The 3DS just doesn't have many good RPGs, and think that's a huge factor in praising one that would have been easily forgotten on the DS (Like 4 heroes of light)
The firearm special moves look pretty hype.
Does anybody want to know what End Layer turns into?
Send Player. You could read that because you wouldn't know what it meant without the explanation, unlike Airy Lies.
The explanation is
the real player with the 3DS goes into the final boss like in Earthbound. It has nothing to do with the story, again, but when you see it you'll probably just say "neat."
Did anyone else find a job combo that worked and just rode with that all game?
Carried me through the entire second half. I had kinda given up fucking about with jobs 50 hours in.
Never again, not after the first one.
Nah, I was excited for the first game and I did like the art and the gameplay but everything else was pretty much trash. Forgettable characters, forgettable story, boring world, and that time loop bullshit just to top it all off.
I basically did a day of grinding to unlock all the jobs I wanted. It was so fucking easy after the last chapters.
I think I had dark knights, a healer, and a tank. When you get that auto res vampire skill, it breaks the game. I one shot the true ending boss pretty easily. Pretty lame game,
Calm down, nintenyearolds
I haven't touched my 3ds since before the n3ds came out, so I have no clue how they advertise it.
BS is the first 3ds game I've cared to play since.
I liked the first game, despite the last few chapters.
but I've heard almost nothing from this game. What's it even about, what the new jobs are, all I know is that Revo didn't do the soundtrack.
Agnes is the new pope and gets kidnapped by some masked man and his posse of new asterisk holders.
You play as Yu, one of the 3 musketeers assigned to guard her, Edea returns to help him because he's fucking useless, Tiz comes back from the dead and needs a haircut. And Magnolia crash lands from the moon with shitty engrish which will be french in English versions.
The bait and switch they did making it seem like Magnolia was the MC was amazing.
But seriously, I could not give two fucks about the three fucks that are the leads. That, along with the terrible god damned music, makes me not look forward to this in the least.
Didn't do so hot. Not really saying anything at all nor relevant, but Amazon Japan pretty well hated. The comments for that alone are worth a look into the hilarity for the reasons it flopped.
The first game sold better in the west, the sequel probably will aswell.
Even though SE recognized that they still neglected the west and the localization for this has taken forever.
I can't say for sure, but I think the area outside of Edea's room is great for grinding. Most are AoEable with the right classes, and you can go and restore your shit in Edea's room.
Can anyone translate a few of the poor rated comments?
Japs are notorious for giving shit amazon reviews. Fucking Monster Hunter 4G had 1.5 stars. I don't even like monster hunter and even I know that's total bullshit.
That's why I said it isn't relevant. I just said to check it out for the funny reasons people really disliked it.
But seriously though, the music was dogshit in Bravely Second.
Japan guy here.
The game is bad in many ways, just like the original was. The only redeeming features are the fun classes. Story is really poor, pacing is awful, etc. Pretty much everything that was wrong with the first game is still wrong in this one.
I wish they stopped with the useless soundtrack discs that dont even have all tracks and the low quality plastic figurines and gave us a bigger artbook instead.
I cant stand these babby sized ones.
not being them in 1 turn and gaining a shit ton of EXP from fighting them
not skipping the cutscenes and flying to the bosses very quickly
it fucking takes 15 minutes tops and it isn't any different than fighting random encounter enemies over again
japan realized how game breaking spiritmaster was and removed the job from the 2nd game.
There is a similar job but stillness is gone forever.
Not looking forward to the censorship in this game after the first game's.
you could ensure your team got their attacks off first by changing each classes agility appropriately, then the last character on your team would cast stillness and the enemy couldnt damage you while you and your team gets 2 turns to rest. one person on your team would have hasten world making you have free bp while the enemy would have that too, it would be wasted because stillness didn't allow them to damage anything.
The other problem with the game is when bosses got high bp they got locked into certain patterns of attack that were technically easier. Like the final boss wouldn't use his debuffs at 2+ bp, he would prefer to dps. Debuffs can still get past stillness but since his behavior changes with high bp you didn't need to worry about it.
I see that even japan is not safe from shitty best seller edition cover
>no NA release date
Please tell me it won't be too long after the EU release...
Pirate/Swordmaster is extremely strong. Pirate gets attacks that use up massive amounts of MP for high damage, and Swordmaster gets abilities that let you use attacks for 0 MP. Works real nice.
Dark Knight/fucking anything is very strong, especially if you hang onto the Blood Blade and use its active effect to cast Drain Sword.
Thats not the fucking point anon, its the fact that I have to go and REDO everything i've already done before, regardless of how easy it is, it still isnt worth the time to redo it
>Valkyrie you go up in the air
>enemy attacks where you were but does 0 damage
>valkyrie comes down and hits opponent
>time mage ability replenishes SP or whatever the jump costs
you have to max out time mage before you even get the replenish ability but its amazing
What was everyone's favourite job?
I personally loved Red Mage even though it's mostly meh.
you actually could skip all the side battle quests if you wanted to
although i enjoyed them because you got to see a different side to the story for each of them, and not all of them were evil
in every parallel universe
I cheesed the dragons by using those element negate charms or whatever and having everyone but one person dead and just use the ninjas guaranteed evasion skill with the counter attack on evasion thing the whole battle
on full speed it took about 8 mins per battle at whatever level I was at on auto
I never liked Stillness/Quicken World abuse, but I did my own little thing:
>every character gets BP Recovery passive from Red Mage job so they gain BP whenever they are hit with an ailment
>one character is a Red Mage with Group Cast All
>another character has Slow World
>every round, Red Mage braves up and casts Poison on your whole team several times, giving them loads of BP
>Slow World means your enemies only act once every other turn in most cases
It's crazy strong. On top of that I had:
Tiz - Vampire/Spirit-master, using blue magic to do good damage and heal and Spiritmaster stuff for occasional panic defense
Edea - Pirate/Swordmaster for Free Lunch attacks
Ringabel - Dark Knight/Templar for extremely powerful Dark Knight attacks and occasional Rampart
Every attacker uses the Blood Blade's active effect on round 1 so their attacks drain tons of HP and they rarely need to heal. The Red Mage also has Salve-maker and uses Giant's Draughts on everyone in difficult fights for double max HP.
Only time this doesn't work is when the enemies use a ton of status ailments that are actually dangerous and you want to equip ribbons.
>FE:Fates - Feb 19
>Bravely Second - Feb 26
Fuck bros, how am I supposed to focus on two 3DS games at once? These are the two I'm most hyped for and I'm gonna have to put one off while I play the other first. Fuck
If it follows along with Bravely Default, the Japanese audio will be included as an option in the normal release. I wouldn't have even bought it if that wasn't the case, it should be fucking universal.
Has best outfit while still being quite useful. Stupid name though.
Better question is what is your least favorite?
For me it's Arcanist, in probably every single way.
Man, this game had too many redundant classes. Removing some, and just making their skills part of the remaining classes paths, would have made the remaining ones better.
Man, having an Arcanist and a Spiritmaster on the same team was probably my favorite setups, but late game gets stupid difficult if you're not abusing BP shenanigans in some way. Having a Black Mage/Arcanist that can group cast poison then throw out some Exterminate is pretty fucking good as far as magic attacks go. Kind of outclassed once you get Black Knight, that thing has insane DPS.
I never ended up beating the game unfortunately.
Arcanist or Summoner. Both are basically redundancies of better classes.
Least favourite look though is Valkyrie with those retarded toilet bowl things on the legs of Edea and Agnes. Seriously the fuck is that design all about?
I can't even imagine what the mental gymnastics for this was. There are other costumes with similar amounts of skin but the "muh appropriation" thing doesn't make sense either. You're unlocking cowboy by killing an indian, that seems more [TRIGGERED] to me.
It depends. Up until the halfway point, it is a fun little Final Fantasy game. After the halfway point, you open an optional ending, which really delivers on the idea that player choice determines the outcome of the game, and you get a cool ending that should have been the true cannon.
Instead, you either pick up just before the fake ending or miss it entirely, then get suckered into beating the game 4 times. Same dungeons, same enemies, not a lot of progress made until you get to the end which funnily enough feels kinda rushed once you get to it.
7/10 game for me, but I'm pretty generous and don't mind grinding.
They probably changed the indian to be a cowboy, too. The only reason we have that image in the first place is because it's from a magazine that had preview screenshots.
Nintendo and Square are usually super tight-lipped about any and all censorship they have in their games.
What? You should have earned Swordmaster before waking the Fire Crystal, and that's the third continent. If you were having trouble with the cerebuses that counter physical attacks, I'd guess you're at the keep in the third continent, and ready to fight the biggest faggot of them all.
Your best bet for grinding up at that point and getting what you need is to make Agnes and Ringabel Black Mages and use spells that target the entire group of enemies so you don't constantly eat counters. If that's still kicking your hide, try going back to the continent and leveling up the Ranger class a bit on the cats and worms outside the town.
