>he hasn't built a nice gaming computer yet
bullshit, most of the PC gamers here are people running shit on their laptops and prebuilts. Just because they brag about better graphics/resolutions doesn't mean they actually have it, fool
Building one soon. I need it for gaming and design (2D and 3D art, animation, modeling, game creation).
Benchmarking is , a waste of time and money. Most of the games that I play don't have amazing graphics. I don't play games that often and am away from home 5-6 days a week, so everything I do is on a laptop or over a handheld.
I've thought about making a lowprofile computer but there aren't a whole lot of games to justify building one.
how do i get japanese girlfriend?
I know blacks and hispanics who have dated actual Japanese. It doesn't matter what he is.
Get one of those phone apps where you help a japanese person speak english and they help you speak japanese.
All my components are 5 years old and I can still run all my games just fine.
No PC games coming out this year warrant new hardware.
When VR headsets come down and the graphics cards needed to run them hit the $200~ range, I'll upgrade.
new GPU technology
I'm not triggered, it's just the fucking truth man. You'd believe me if you were around during the Overwatch and Street Fighter V betas.
A minority of the users here actually built their own PC
>>he hasn't built a nice gaming computer yet
But I just did anon, all of the parts got here early aside from the case, and that should be here tomorrow.
>It's gonna be 10x stronger than the Maxwell,
But I have a PC, waiting on summer for my job and for zen, I hope it's good so I can continue to support AMD
>It's gonna be 10x stronger than the Maxwell
Mustard race here. Haven't build a new one since 2011. I don't see any reason why since there aren't many new PC games worthy upgrading/new building. Are you telling me F4 for example is worth upgrading? I think not!
that said, thanks consoles for setting no standards but having the biggest player base and so where the money is/easy grab.
my mobo never arrives
Yes, every consolefag here is posting from their laptop/phones because duh - they can't do it from their consoles.
Why do you think "long posts" are weird now?
Because these shitters cba to write a coherent post on a touchscreen.
I only went with the 970 because apparently a lot of games just run better on Nvidia cards thanks to sleezy partnerships, and I was told that the AMD cards are better for budget builds.
>being so poor you can't pretty much build a new gaming computer every other month
stop thinking women as objects
Asian women aren't your perfect waifus, they're like any other woman
this isn't even as some feminist shit, i'm telling you as an adult
as a reasonable man you'd be foolish to think any woman can be "perfect" because their race
women of any race are just as fallible as each other
You'd just end up deluding yourself
Roughly $1,850 after tax and delivery IIRC
It was expensive as fuck, but I spent more than I needed to on the case, the SSD didn't need to be that expensive either, and I could have just not gotten the Wireless card.
I almost went with the 980 build instead with 1151 sockets, but it just seemed like the performance increase compared to price increase wasn't worth it, and all of that extra money could have been spent on shit like SSDs and Wireless cards.
Still, it should keep me going for a few years before I need to upgrade anything
why do beta men insist on giving all of their money to some random slag so she can build the biggest gaming pc she'll never use?
The price jump for 1151 socket stuff just didn't seem worth it.
I looked at making a 980 build at first, but all of the extra money spent on the GPU, CPU and MOBO for a very tiny performance increase seemed like it would have been better spent somewhere else.
Sofa and a controller is not comfy at all, I'm not sure who you are deluding. My superior posture with proper lumbar support and proximity to the screen for maximum visual fidelity is supreme. Acquire an ottoman if you wish to kick your feet up.
Don't worry anon, I'm
Everything is expensive as fuck over here. That build only costs around 1306.45, probably closer to $1,200, and thats with shipping/taxes included
No, you're missing the point, they're playing on prebuilt family PCs and laptops if they're having issues running such games. They're running it on something that practically everyone in a first world country has.
The minority of people on /v/ build PCs
I did that 6 years ago famalama.
>it will never be 2010 again
desu senpai you can buy an unlocked intel CPU, a oversized PSU and the only thing you would probably need to upgrade the next generation would be your GPU and overclock the CPU
If buy your shit "just because" and not because you actually have games which don't run well enough for you, you are cursed to always think in that stupid way.
You'll be spending 1100$ on something that will be "practically" obsolete 10 months later.
If you want to retort, explain "practically obsolete" to me.
AMD cards are simply better in general until you hit the 980ti, they have more performance, they also support DX12/Vulkan better than Nvidia's card so when those APIs come out you're screwed. In addition free-sync saves you anywhere from $100-200 compared to G-sync, not to mention that Nvidia wholly hates freedom
There were Z170 ATX boards going for sub-$100 over the holidays. 8GB DDR4-3200 kits now for just $10 more, and you also have the option of a cheap non-K cpu that you can BCLK overclocking for even more savings.
Just buy Alienware dumbass.
All you guys are dumbasses trying to cobble together a computer rather than spend a couple extra hundred dollars to get a good rig.
Fucking LOL how poor are you like how do you even function when 200 dollars is too much for you?
Everyone of their cards until the 980ti has higher performance than their counterparts, in addition they have better performance in general at higher resolutions as well as better crossfire scaling
Sorry anon, never had a case vibrate so hard, and really, rub that part of the case when it arrives, truly a horror.
Otherwise its roomy and fits everything you can but as I took my PC to lans and shit, this sucked ass as its not sturdy at all, can't even sit it on the side (trunk of car) because those protrusions get dented in.
Its also huge for no good reason, my shit is in a node 304 now and I've yet to find a reason to go bigger than this shoebox.
And only cancerous r/pcmasterrace faggots would care more about "muh graphix" and "muh 60fps" memes.
I played most of my multiplats on consoles and it was fine. My point stands, PC has no games.
>tfw no qt asian in a bee outfit to greet you after a long day of work
Why is she so cute, bros?
>I played most of my multiplats on consoles and it was fine
The point still stands the the ps4 is netbook level of cruddy hardware. I guess if it's fine if you consider slideshows or turd looking visuals "games."
I've never owned a laptop. I've been building and fixing PCs since before you were born. At the moment I have a pretty future proof PC, and I mostly believe it to be a waste when it comes to gaming. I use it to write and record music mostly.
My PS4 let me play Arkham Knight on day one. I also was one of the only people on /v/ that was able to run Street Fighter V at max settings
it looked and played identical to PS4Most people here have shitty machines. I go where the games are. I own a PS4, XBONE,Vita,3DS, and a WiiU. I hurt for nothing and can play all the exclusive games. The only game coming for the PC that is exclusive that I have any interest in is XCOM, and I highly doubt it will be pushing my PC to the limit. Stay a salty faggot. This board would die without you.
>i have no standards
I'm not the one spending 1000+ hours on assfaggots. I'm not the one pretending that my toy is better because I paid more money for it. I'm not the one creating stupid cringeworthy theories about my self proclaimed superiority despite all my worthplaying games being terrible console ports designed to be played with console hardware that crash day one.
If everytime a new game is announced you are left wondering whenever you will be able to play it or not on your shitbox, or whenever they decide to throw leftovers at you you are forcing yourself to buy just so you might get more left overs in the future you have no standards and your platform of choice is worthless. All the performance in the world won't make up for lack of software.
>tfw my PSU just died and I can't pirate Dragon's Dogma
If any of that would be true anon, you wouldn't behave like such a child, you wouldn't assume at the beginning of a conversation that I'm younger than you or have been here less, or that I have less than you.
You are immature as fuck, which is all I need to know about you to disregard anything else you can claim.
Care to explain how you know this? Theres tons of threads discussing builds and posting their hardware. There's no reason to think a video game based image board doesn't contain people who built their PC's.
It's not that hard to afford or assemble.
>tfw I had to RMA my 970
>tfw stuck with a 7850 for 2 weeks probably
>I also was one of the only people on /v/ that was able to run Street Fighter V at max settings
>CPU: Intel Core i5-4690K @3.50GHz
>RAM: 8 GB
>Video: Nvidia GTX 960
What an achievement :^)
I decided u're immature and I will disregard all the good points u made, therefore I won the argument, PC is superior, the PC master race won again, Lord Gaben be praised, consolecucks btfo literally BTFO!
Good anon, I also don't do any of those things.
I KNOW that my "toy" is objectively better than your toy - this is the concept you seem to have trouble with.
I get the games I want wherever I want - the difference is I have standards that need to be met in order to get a purchase from me, while you don't.
I have more games in my backlog than what I will ever catch up with, I'm not indoctrinated to only care about the newest releases - which is what your kind is clearly all about.
You people think you have somekind of "victory" from getting an exclusive - for me, it just means whenever I bother to buy X console, it'll have one more cheap game I can give a go.
It isn't that there isn't any of them, it's that there's a minority in relation to people that use prebuilts and laptops. There really aren't that many threads with people talking about their builds and hardware
Thats nothing. When I was looking to build my computer, microcenter had i5 4670k at $150 but you had to drive there to buy it.
Obviously it was sold out before I got there, ended up with the 4690k for $200
Most cases are either edgy as fuck, alien looking overdesigned shits or straight up black fedora boxes. Have you seen the cases they sell on AliExpress?
>want to upgrade my pc at the end of college when I know I'll get money soon
>suddenly friend offers me their entire rig with last year's top tech for the price of a gtx 970
>can't pass up that kind of offer
At least now I'll have an even larger budget when I actually need to upgrade
w psu and no dualgpu
>>spending over $100 on a case
Seemed like a good idea to go above and beyond what I needed in regards to PSU so that I don't need to replace it when I start getting new parts in the future.
And its Canada, everything is expensive here, most decent cases that I saw were over $100. But I admit, I did overspend a bit on it just because I wanted to make sure my case was roomy enough and had decent cable management
Theres plenty of people in this very thread that seemed to have built there PC's. No, i don't think a majority of the PC gamers on /v/ buy prebuilts or use laptops. Honestly what even makes you able to say something like that with confidence?
Do you have anything to back it up? At all?
Because I'm one of those "I need the perfect experience"-type of guys, and I'd probably sink $3000 into a PC with the highest-end guhraffix card, then sink even more into a 50" 4K monitor and Dolby Atmos speakers to compliment it
Thinking of getting a PS4 instead of upgrading. Upgradings getting a little pricey up here in Canada.
I'm still using a geforce 560ti, but I don't have the money to upgrade. If I get the research scholarship I'm currently finishing a paper for, I'll have money, else I run on a toaster for a couple more years.
>tfw I just built a new computer with a 970 and I'll finally be able to not only play games but animate for hours on end without my computer crashing and costing me half a days worth of tedious work
>building a gaming PC
For what purpose?
The only good PC games were made 10+ years ago and can be played on a toaster. High spec games are all AAA garbage. If you have a high-end PC, you probably have an Origin account and have bought multiple EA games. PC gaming is the cancer of the industry.
>my "toy" is objectively better than your toy
Does your toy allows you to collect and display a video games collection? Does it allow you to invite a couple of friends and play Mario Kart 8 in the living room? No?
>I get the games I want wherever I want
Except all those console games you are always so butthurt about. Also like what games? We both know you only ever play assfaggots and meme games that run on toasters like Undertale.
>the difference is I have standards that need to be met in order to get a purchase from me, while you don't.
Oh boy, PC ports are famous for being top notch high quality versions of games. Definetly superior standards you have there when you buy Arkham Knight from Steam.
>I have more games in my backlog than what I will ever catch up with
Yet all you ever play is assfaggots and counter strike. Prove me wrong post your steam profile.
>You people think you have somekind of "victory" from getting an exclusive
We all fucking lose when stubborn elitist cunts like you join the hobby because you are an insuferable cunt that will not only ruin PC gaming for the more reasonable guys but make console games discussion harder.
>tfw 4 year old 7970 and waiting for a card that has 150% performance, consumes less power, makes less noise, and is $300
Closest so far is the 390 and that's not much better than a rebranded 7970(380x)
>building an undertale and f2p mobashit machine
Do what I did and start dating the Japanese qt3.14 translator from work.
>likes heavy metal, rock, etc
>super kinky in bed
>slightly chubby, F cup (in Japan)
>speaks English pretty well since she's a translator
And no, you don't have to be white. You have to be charming. I'm black/middle eastern. If you can't pick up girls with relative ease in your home country, expect it to be harder in foreign countries, depending on your race.
Look at this pleb thinking he's hot shit.
>PC HAS NO EXCLUSIVES
I hate it when people say this, PC has thousands of games retards.
Okay. So essentially, I should wait for pascal release before I decide what GPU to get that could be useful at modeling, animation, and gaming and build the rest as I would a powerful gaming PC?
Theres no argument anon, you tried to ironically disprove my claim because you LOVE using a shitty ps4 browser and I'm sure you do it all the time, like once a year.
When I replied with an insult to your insultingly stupid claims, you sperged out of your way to say how you own everything and you are "old" (what an achievement man) and thus "superior" too.
Wake the fuck up you little shit.
1440p is amazing.
Idk about freesync, but I have Gsync and fucking love it. I play PS2 and there's times where I have 200+ people on my screen all fucking around and Gsync handles the framerate drops like a fucking champ.
That being said Gsync is actual hardware in the monitor, I think freesync is just software....
>Upgraded mobo and processor the other day
>Upgrading GPU and getting a new case in March
Feels good not running a total junk heap from 2009 anymore.
I ain't taking a picture of my new Mobo and processor boxes just to prove a point.
Just keep assuming things as you were.
Anon theres this saying smart people abide by - don't try to argue with someone who KNOWS they are right.
You are KNOW you are right and you would never mind bending reality to fit that state of mind, if my steamprofile matched 1:1 to all the games you own and we are soul-brothers based on the games we play - you would still call them all utter shit and trash because you MUST be right, you know it.
Because I actually like video games. Not memes.
PC has already proven to be an unsustainable platform for higher end software development, it's the very reason why bungie and other devs left the paltform in droves years ago. An industry plagued by indies and AAA because we denied the importance of middle men, publishers and console manufactures is a bad industry and right now we're flying into it head first ]especially as PC gaming is becoming a consumer tradition and is slowly amassing major influence over the industry. What we don't want to take into account is the huge amount of b-level developers that produce console ip's and exist because consoles exist, those who aren't as rich as AAA developers but those who can't survive independently or through crowd funding. Those games are important and the the ones which we should not piss away so carelessly.
Even this is still an over-simplification on the importance of publishers/consoles and what console manufacturers do behind the scenes. For example Street Fighter wouldn't exist without Sony funding it and saving Capcom from near bankruptcy which also effects other industries and platforms like 3DS. Kojimas new studio also wouldn't have been possible without Sony if gaming was forced to go PC exclusively. Consoles support much more than just first party titles and AAA games. The average consumer is usually so brainwashed by anti-corporate convictions yet blind to the fact that they are the ones who are simply able to get shit done in this volatiel industry and will glady destroy their ability to do it if not to stick it to the man and save a couple dollars on steam.
When PC manages to finally destroy consoles market share you guys will see the true face of PC gaming and it is exactly the same as it was 10 years ago.
Are you guys talking about the same thing? Honestly I don't know much about PSUs except Seasonic is quality, but I don't see any bad reviews for that EVGA one so I'll probably switch.
Get 390 from Jet, the code changed now it's ScaryMommy2016
Despite your bait post, you're missing the point. PC isn't really about dangling exclusives over anyone's head, it's that you can play 95% of worthwhile games at acceptable framerates and resolutions while generally being able to get them for much cheaper.
>64 degrees celceus.
shit. ever since I load at 34 I think thats hot
Now now, aren't you doing the exact same thing what you are accusing me off? It's anonymous. What do you have to lose? Post your profile, let's see all that superior taste. You've been accusing me of literally eating shit, It means I definitely have things to learn from you.
This is what I don't like about Steam, cutting out the middle man a.k.a publishers is something that multiple industries have had delusions of doing for over a decade and the people who try always hit the same barriers that anyone else does, primarily money.
I'm struggling to think of a good, full game that doesn't look like utter shit that was made independently on PC and sold well. So far I'm coming up with Castle Crashers. FTL is a good example but that was by virtue of Kikestarter, which is another can of worms altogether and shouldn't be seen as an easy "way out" of publishers existing.
Something like Bloodborne, for our example here, being made by a team with nobody funding them is fucking laughable and if not literally impossible. I'd venture to guess that no less than 300 people had a hand in actually developing that game, and I'm not counting the thousands that number jumps to when you account for everyone who had a hand in its release.
People have tried to buck off the middlemen in everything. Indie film especially; people just want to grab a good camera, make their art, and become known. Same with garage bands. Nobody wants to think about how much bullshit goes into actually selling your product on a large scale, and sooner or later, they all go looking for someone to distribute their shit for them because it's an industry unto itself. All those indie bands and little visionary directors work with big studios and labels sooner or later or just fade into obscurity.
Here's what I'm currently building:
>i7-4790K 4.0 GHz Processor
>500 GB SSD
>GTX 980 Ti 6GB Video Card (Might add video card SLI)
>2x Asus ROG SWIFT PG278Q 144 Hz 27" monitor
I've got money to spend so, yea no budget necessarily.
i put all the parts together myself. fantastic and very fun learning experience, highly recommend it on that alone.
good way to feel closer to the machine, more in tune i guess
You don't want to know what happens in the summer, but I'll bet set this year, going to buy a HAF XB with 250CFM fans and 100CFM 80mm fans for the bottom of the case
i managed to snag a compete 420mm+240mm set for around $260. would have cost me well over $100 more but i got everything on sale. can't wait to build this thing.
The average consumer is usually so brainwashed by anti-corporate convictions yet blind to the fact that they are the ones who are simply able to get shit done in this volatile industry (Bloodborne) and will gladly destroy their ability to do it if only to 'stick it to the salary man' and save a couple dollars on steam.
The same people who incessantly hate console exclusivity yet wonder when PC ports are coming to their system while also failing to understand why nobody can afford to develop these type of games for the PC on the PC platform and hey exclusives can even be made possible in the first place.
It has basically become impossible to start a discussion about how and why companies like Sony are pretty dam imporant right now because you'll just get met with vitriol and hatred by the ignorant.
Consumers have always been dumb but now they have the tools to slowly but surely destroy the industry and they are fucking doing it and PC triples the amount of console owners in any given thread. Traditional gaming is over, it's dead, many will be content with mobas, AAA and indies if consoles die and that's more sad than anything.
I've never built one because I'm worried I'll fuck it up super bad and have to spend way too much to fix it
These fans are amazing
Dark Knight II, same thing but black basically, with MX-4 paste
MX-4 is basically the same as AS5
Depends on the person. I've seen people cry about TN, I've seen people cry about IPS.
I have the same monitor you're getting and like it, but eye care would be nice. Plus with your build you might benefit from 165hz
It really isn't that hard.
The only thing you have to worry about is your CPU working with your motherboard, but that is super easy to find out as well, you could just google the motherboard.
Other than that, everything will mostly work with eachother.
If you are still worried, plan out your build, put it together, and post it on /g/, you'll get some obvious shitposting, but someone will help you out.
>I ain't taking a picture of my new Mobo and processor boxes just to prove a point.
uhh? What point do you have to prove? I'm saying that most PC gamers on /v/ probably build their PC.
It looks like you did too.
I think the big problem with steam is that it made video games worthless in the eyes of PC gamers by devaluating their prices to extreme levels. As a AAA developer you make a fraction of the console profit because everyone is waiting for the game to go under $10. As a AA developer it's even worse, you are forced to go with discount on launch and even then some faggots say that $15 for a 60 hours long 9/10 game is too much.
I don't think PC will be able to continue that way for very long, there's always talk about how every one is now porting their games on PC but the sales and profits are fractional. At this rate it's going to scare console buyers and these middlemen will be forced to either die or make shitty mobile games for Japan.
I just built mine a few days ago senpai super easy the only problem i had was finding out where all the cables went.
Just remember to put enough thermal paste for proper heat transfer
Its not the same thing at all.
Standards and taste are two entirely different things.
Consoles can't stand up to my standards because they are technically inferior, always, sometimes so much it ruins an otherwise great game. (Dragon's Dogma being a great, relevant example)
Its not that I don't dare engage, I've posted my steam profile here before, though it doesn't cover half of what I play - I just don't care to based on your responses and attitude until now, I can't 'win' here, and victory means "have a conversation that makes sense" here to me.
If you want serious, reasonable replies - do not start out next time with 10 knee-jerk insults like "buh only assfaggots, buh you bought bamham, cuntcuntcunt"
I play console games too, I will own a ps4 as well in time - its just lower priority gaming for me, since its technically worse always and I'm only forced to do it because of exclusivity deals, due to my standards it does feel like I'm forced to lower myself to it.
The fact that you are outright defensive about an inferior experience of a software title which we all know theoretically could do better, is just scary.
>$1000 dollars of hardware that you continually have to upgrade
Confirmed for having no PC knowledge whatsoever. Don't believe the memes, you can get by with a PC half that price for as long as you want and still be able to run games better than on a console. I built a modest build about 2.5 years ago and have literally never been unable to run something at 1080p and 60 FPS.
Ace Combat VR
Grand Turismo Sports VR
Tekken 7 VR
Dead or Alive Extreme VR
Oculus Rift :
Indie games. Facebook & Samsung titles
Killzone Shadow Fall
Why do people insist on being alternative consumers in this day and age? Why do people dislike video games so much??
The price we are willing to pay for something - IS WHAT THAT SOMETHING IS WORTH
The fact that consolefaggotry was able to explain to you that an AAA title is ALWAYS worth the price they ask for it is scary.
You can do it for 500.
The point is that this mentality is killing video games on PC and if it spreads will kill the whole industry as we know it. You're supposed to buy a couple of games that interest you per year for full price on release. Not buying AAA shit you never even launch for $5 on every steam sale.
Games aren't cheap anon. If you don't throw money at the industry they won't throw games at you. I'm not talking about buying the latest Bethesda shit on release but smaller games that interest you and that deserve funding, something like Drakengard 3 for example.
>I'm posting from my PS4 right now, while in sight of my gaming PC.
Yeah, you sure showed us.
Buy now, sell later to get into the new stuff.
Guys is a Titan X by itself good enough to run shit in 4k (Witcher III, GTAV, MGSV, etc.)?
I would hate to buy the monitor and then be able to do nothing in 4k but shitpost and porn.
It's in different proportions on consoles. And the console gamer mentality is different. When a new game that you are interested in is comming out you pre-order it for the sick LE. When a game you are interested in PC comes out you wait for the next steam sale.
You build a PC for Battlefield 4?
Sorry, anon, I actually support platforms that offer me most games I want to play.
It is funny, I actually haven't payed for PC game for a half a year (only got free new Tomb Raider recently).
>keeping your PC on your table
You autistic moron.
you'll have to buy 2 titan x if you want 60fps goy, i mean friend.
well A, Nvidia hates your freedom and you shouldn't buy their products
and B you should be buying 2 non X Fury cards and a free-sync 4k display if you want to get into 4k gaming, though 4k is more about productivity than gaming, the free-sync display is going to be cheaper than a G-sync display and is going to make gameplay much smoother
In addition due to AMD's better performance in general at higher resolutions and crossfire scaling, 2 non X Fury cards aren't very far behind 2 980tis in 4k, an 980tis are faster than Titan Xs

the 4k IPS Free-sync display
BF3? I'm trying to decided whether I get that for PC or console atm, I've never played BF only Medal Of Honor. I liked MOH and saw the metacritic rating was bad, so I guess fos rating standards changed after the whole COD & BF annual releases started. It's fucking confusing to figure out what's good now looking back at old reviews and complaints.
So far MW1, MW2, BF3 and Bad Company 2 seem like good ones. I got BF4 on PC and the rest are cheaper on console used in stores.
? I don't see what you're getting at. Buy furniture online from the manufacturer store? My wife insists on a couple particular brands/styles,their online prices are the same as in store .even with a 20% coupon, a cloth couch is still $1000 with shipping
The single player is better in BC2, I enjoyed the multiplayer and gun modelling more in 3, but some of the levels in BC2 are better, especially for Rush.
It's well worth spending an extra 10 bucks to get better resolution and 60 fps along with kb+m support. This is an FPS after all.
Anyone have a nice L-shaped computer desk they can recommend?

1440p IPS 144hz and free-sync, unlike the older ASUS IPS 144hz display this one has the full range for free-sync
it's about the best 1440p display available
and ya no single GPU can drive 4k higher settings yet
It's not like it's called a fucking desktop
Jet.com, B&H, but since you have a wife nevermind she will be picky.
Fabric reclining sofas are 700-800 shipped, big brands are a ripoff and they still use pressboard wood they just cover it up so you can't see the frame. Check for that when your furniture gets delivered.
If only I actually had an ITX motherboard
maxing out GTAV and witcher 3 still requires a dual card config at 1440p, you could consider a 1440p @144hz or 3440x1440 @75hz monitor with 2x gtx 980 TI's and have a comfy experience. if you're set on 4k with a single card setup i'd wait for polaris and pascal.
It's called a tower. Desktops sit on their side.
>finally a wageslave, forsaken neetlife for the foreseeable future
>time to do first build and sacrifice the toaster
>check logicalincrements and other sites
>half my friends urge me to wait a few months for the new cards to be unveiled
>so many parts I still don't think I know the most reliable/trusted ones
Honestly putting it together does look easy, physically at least, I think it's just this initial hurdle of summarising parts and what are in my best interests to play vidya wise long-term
Took me at least a month of comparing and deciding. When I did it there were more build threads for advice, but you could always start them. Linus tech tips forum is also solid for getting advice
Just get one of those folding tables. Plenty of room for a large/several monitors, speakers, steering wheel, joystick, etc.
I'm trying to get mine to fucking boot. I can't think of anything I plugged in the wrong spot, but the lights come on, the fans spin but it doesn't boot. The motherboard number display says it's stuck in early cpu initialization and I have no clue what that means or how to go about it. I've tried reseating the cpu to no avail.
At a bit of a loss.
Yea i hear you unfortunately we are moving away from pressed wood with vaneers, and going a solid hardwood approach... since we're "adults" and all.
To be honest, true hardwood looks and feels so much better
Maybe $1k isn't so bad for the
Yeah that's mostly what I saw criticised most was singleplayer campaigns ("uggh omg why did they ship SP with this!? It sucks!!!" -critic). MOH had a decent campaign so I just wanted another comfy somewhat realistic, non-zombie/lasers/alien technology type of military fps campaign.
What if I just like the features of asian girls? My families 90% female. I'm well aware they're all shit and "perfect waifu" doesn't exist.
All women are the same, so I may as well get with one I like.
Huh. my bad fwend
I've been holding off building a new one for the past few months because of Win10 being shit. Is it worth upgrading now with a tool to block all the stupid shit they added to it? Is it possible to remove all store/advertising garbage?
I tried overclocking my 4690k for the first time. I got it to 4.4GHz and have used t the last 2 days without a crash.
Is there any point in trying for more? Would squeezing it to 4.6GHz give me any meaningful benefits?
>tfw bought all gaming computer parts for ~1200
>got the gtx 970 because it was the most cost efficient
>pirate all single player games
>buy a PS4 controller
>download the best mods the community can make
This shit pays for itself. The only thing I might need to upgrade is the GPU.
>get new case,new motherboard,and new cpu
>cpu doesn't fit case and breaks
>motherboard shorts out
>even with all my old parts in the new case, the monitor won't display anything
>tfw wasted $500
>cpu doesn't fit case and breaks
>motherboard shorts out
Use the standoffs you ass
>even with all my old parts in the new case, the monitor won't display anything
Probably fried the GPU in the process as well
I bought a prebuilt cause i was being a lazy fuck and there's something wrong with it but it's hard to diagnose. Something causes the CPU to spaz out and overheat drastically, and often has far too high idle temps (though sometimes temps stay low so it's definitely capable of running properly.) It's not a heat sink problem because the original one was defective and they replaced it with one that works fine. So now the company thinks the motherboard also has issues, is that probably it? I tried resetting the motherboard but that didn't help at all.
Also, does anyone else feel that both CPU and GPU temps, even when not too excessive, seem to limit performance more than the hardware itself? Should I have a separate water cooling system for that, or does anyone know of a cooler that's effective enough it can't overheat even running heavy loads on a hot day? There must be some way to drastically push temperatures down better than a small water cooler + fan
As for tables it's a tossup on hardwood vs other cool solid designs with glass. But for shelving and entertainment centers/TV cabinets the particle board is fine and way better for the price and more color options. Now sofas and chairs some manufacturers use ply/pressboard in an inefficent way with bad bracketing ao it can break. Top name companies utilize it pretty well and are sturdy enough for people under 300lb, but like I said they make the undersides all pretty with stapled canvas so you can't see what the frame is made of. Pressboard is also lighter weight for shipping and physically arranging.
>cpu doesnt fit case
>motherboards shorts out
you probably built it barefoot on carpet without getting rid of your static electricity
>monitor didnt display anything
you need to install drivers you dumbfuck
Who /ancient/ here?
>Phenom II and Radeon 7870 here
Can't wait to upgrade at Christmas time, gonna get myself a Zen CPU, 4K monitor and the flagship Polaris card.
Upgrades after such a long time are always so satisfying. Fags who upgrade every year bit-by-bit will never know such a glorious feeling.
Do people actually believe this? FUCK AMD, it gave me so many problems and so few developers fix issues with it, every single problem I had gpu wise went away when I got an nvidia card.
fetishizing women because of race is ultimately a self destructive, and it fucks up your children
nothing is worse for a child than to have a beta shit father and a low self esteem mother
bringing race into the mix just fucks up things further since they'll feel like they'll never belong anywhere in the world, even with their own parents
I always wold go big on the tower unless space is actually an issue, and the 980 doesn't have spectacular price/performance ratio. But it seems like a pretty standard build for the money you're spending. I would say a 970 is good enough though
I'm actually planning an upgrade next tax return.
>easier to clean case
>wired keyboard and mouse, mechanical?
>new mic for /soc/ MSA seductions (who knew black girls liked RPing as slaves so much?)
It happened cause where I work is 80% asian. I'm not OBSESSED with them, and treat the qt's like normal people, I know what the freaks and weirdos are like and I'm nothing close to it
Oh and I'm not white, so no elliots.
You probably just didn't properly uninstall your previous drivers or your PSU was too weak the handle the extra load from some cards, or your GPU was simply a bad one.
are you saying just having a fan is better than water-cooled? can nobody else recommend a highly effective cooling system?
no, why would you think that? also intel cpu
Don't have a kid problem solved moron, why do people complicate literally everything.
>Wanting a money wasting shitting biological machine that makes sounds randomly during the night, pisses on you and you also have to make sure it doesn't kill itself on accident or else you will go to jail
>i5 is the minimum for gaymen
>Intel is always da best
>why buy DVD drive for build? it old
>blah blah blah cases
People have different needs for different tasks. Not everyone uses their computers just to play games, not everyone needs an SSD or a $200+ CPU to play MOBAs and CS:GO.
The 390 can't utilize all 8GB of VRAM because Hawaii is not strong enough to handle resolutions that would require higher VRAM usage, but the 970 is an equally horrible choice as well for what you pay for. You don't need to upgrade graphics cards every generation, or every other generation for that matter. Your card and CPU will not stop functioning out of the blue just because the latest and greatest came out.
I built my first PC yesterday, I feel like I did good
>implying toasters don't freely admit to being toasters
>implying a toaster doesn't still look better than PS4/XBO
>implying I didn't go Z97 and get a breddy gud
mid-high peecee CPU is a bottleneck desu, i5-4440. But when I get my 4790K this shit will be fine for like five years
>look how much cheaper PC gaming is....
Thats in CDN, not USD.
Also new games in Canada cost $79.99 for consoles.
And I didn't just build it for videogames, I'll be working, drawing, animating, and spendig most of my time doing all sorts of shit on this PC. You could easily make this PC for $1,200 USD and play any game at all at 1080p 60fps, I'd bet anything more than $400 in regards to a custom PC will blow current gen consoles out of the water
This is actually the reason why people buy consoles. Because PC markets lots of choices (R9 280x vx GTX 960 or some shit like that)
It's simply easier to just buy a PS4/XB1
Now, I don't have either of those. I do have a good PC. But it was stressful having to decide which parts and shit, I don't really blame console fags.
I am 22 years old balding and I never had a job, I've also only kissed one girl my entire life and I lost my best friend because he came out as gay and tried to have sex with me.
Well if that's idle then it's a bit hot compared to mine, this is while emulating Yakuza 2
Yes I know the bloom's fucked
>This guy is an AMD fanboy and there are benchmarks of actual videogames showing 970 runs better than 390.
More of this ignorance. Just because a few games are better optimized for one brand of cards or architecture does not mean that it's the superior choice overall. You're not going to be playing the same games over and over again for the rest of your lives (apart from MOBAs, but you don't even need a dedicate GPU to run those these days).
Choose your graphics card based on your budget, what resolution you're playing on, what games you prefer (generally, RTS tend to be more CPU reliant, AAA games tax GPUs more than CPU, etc), whether or not the card is a good fit your your case (blower vs fans, double, 2.5 or triple slot thickness, etc), and what incentives there are for using that card or brand of AIB.
I doubt that, because people are still posting here rather than playing games. A PC has more uses than that and most people eventually take advantage of features on their PC that they didn't know existed. But likewise, people should not spend out the ass for a build in the hopes that they'll get into programs or games that require higher-end hardware.
Start low and build up.
I wanted an ITX case
Not really no, takes about one question on a forum or an hour or so of using google

i'm saying why people reproduce, not why you should reproduce
You shouldn't, people should defiantly not reproduce if they've got bad genetics or bad personal problems, people shouldn't reproduce if they're going to race mix
