World of Warcraft ofcourse
You can argue all you want but WoW is their best game, this is a fact. Ofcourse nowadays the game isn't as good as it used to be but it's 11/12 years old by now.
StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void
And I fucking hated Wings of Liberty. They've fixed almost everything wrong with WoL in the new expansion. And it's standalone so I didn't have to buy HotS
Vanilla WoW was an amazing experience. All the expansions were shit, though. We went from an incredible adventure to tiny continents that fed you gear.
Fuck BC and WotLK. I'm guessing Cata was bad, too, but I quit WoW before it was released.
Everything before the Activision buy-out.
You can sell and trade cards irl. Also some online card games let you have cards for free.
>Also some online card games let you have cards for free.
Yeah and those games have never been as good as stuff like MtG.
>You can sell and trade cards irl.
Blizz won't ever do that because of the shitshow the AH was in Diablo 3.
This "microtransaction" almost costs as much as Overwatch does
>it's okay when Valve does it
>Warcraft III TFT is a masterpiece.
Warcraft 3 is an amazing game. I'd give an arm and a leg for an HD version, just so I could play it again. One of my greatest regrets from adolescence is not playing this game more.
I'm sorry, but I have no sympathy for the people who complain about buying packs in Hearthstone.
That is how the medium works, that's how it's worked for 30 years, the people who bitch about it don't play card games on any real competitive level. If you want to be good, you have to spend hundreds of dollars to build your deck. Either by opening booster pack after booster pack, or seeking out the cards individually and paying what is usually somewhat jacked up prices. It's a game format based on collection, and collecting things costs money.
Yeah but irl if you have a bunch of cards you don't need, you can sell them and use that money to get the cards you don't need. You can't do that with HS, you're stuck with what you get.
>WoW nerd buttmad over the fact that the devs don't care about them anymore
D3 got a skeleton crew and everytime a season starts it's like christmas. How long has it been since you ever felt good playing a game?
They both do and don't.
When it comes to gameplay rebalancing, Blizz actually does listen to its fans. Probably to an unhealthy degree because forumgoers are the first to scream NERF NOW the second they're not top of the charts in pvp.
When it comes to story matters though they are a complete echo chamber, the outside world doesn't exist to them.
TF failed because it was made by the same dudes who ruined call of duty, meanwhile call of duty was already headed into the ~future pew pew machines~ sector anyways
You just don't compete with call of duty.
>it had 3 mechs
It's a joke on /m/ from this dev interview where the guy clearly has a very narrow view of what a mech is.
Honestly, it is WoW although it's understandable why so many on /v/ say they hate it. They absolutely struck gold. They drew in the hardcore nostalgic crowd with Vanilla, opened the doors for casual players, then developed a system that fostered a community with each server. New players admired and aspired to be like the level 60s, lvl 60s explored every nook and cranny and formed groups while solo players did their own thing. It had something for every single type of gamer and changed the entire PC industry.
What killed the game and the franchise is that they milked the shut out of it. BC was when they realized they didn't need to put much effort into developing and they'd make plenty of money just barely updating the game. Here we are years later and what have they updated? Barely anything and yet it's still on par with other games that have come out recently. Only contrarian faggots deny this and it is sad the game is a lifeless corpse still being miles and shredded with micro transactions and spinoffs like Hearthstone and HoTS, but saying it was a shit game and always will be is objectively wrong.
>you mean the people who made the first modern warfare?
And then subsequently ruined the franchise and it had to be revived by new people because the original faggots got too egotistical and TF proved that they don't have talent longevity anyways
if you have your cd-key, I think you can register it on battle.net and get access to a digital copy. it at least worked with a copy I bought a year ago because my faggot brother lost the cd-key to our old copies
>Meanwhile there are Overwatch commercials before Star Wars
never seen one
>Paladins is P2W and Battleborn is literally who
smite beat hots and history is just going to repeat itself here
fuck, scratch that, I just activated my old starcraft key and it gave me to whole fucking anthology. holy shit, I'm so happy, my brood war cd key was destroyed and now I can play it
War3 had an over-the-top fantasy soap opera with a bunch of handholding escort missions for a campaign, and melee mode which was so godawful that it needed extensive modification just to be tolerable online.
War2's campaign was basically 'we need to kill the orcs / humans' x10, and that's all it needed to be, and each mission had a number of ways to approach it. Multiplayer wasn't nearly as cutthroat competitive as BroodWar and wasn't nearly as focused around a handful of hero units like War3, instead it was
Diablo 1 and Bloodthorne were also pretty good. Lost Vikings was basically just fart jokes repeated ad-nauseum.
