How come #DRIVECLUB became the spiritual successor of PGR and one of the best arcade racer?
thats not horizon 2 anon
driveclub is dogshit compared to fh2
the game couldn't decide whether it wanted to be a arcade racer or a sim, handling ks also kinda funky
cant deny that the visuals are currently best on the market though
FH2 manages to nail the balance between sim and arcade and is probably xbone's best game, havent played f6 yet
yea OP i always wondered how come PGR 3-4 are considered good games and driveclub got so much shit.
i mean yea it's failed early current-gen AAA racing title but all its downsides end with this.
its the best arcade racing games to date
you can design your car
fuckton of cars
offroad races are the GOAT
multiplayer is amazing
im sorry you will never enjoy this game anon
>best arcade racing game to date
please fuck off
can i drive with a pizza car?
thought so anon.
i meant to say that its the best racing game in the past 4 years or so. there have been little good racing games
actually I did, it was really a good game but open world formula with driving line and all bullishit driving assisits just ruined the fun. The classic purist formula DC (as seen in PGR) is bringing is still unbeaten
i honestly dont know Anything about the actual game because literally the only thing people talk about is the graphics
it cant be that good
i wasnt even sure the game actually came out with all the ps+ trouble
didn't know I could turn off open-world and drive a proper track
you do realize you can turn that shit off.
its right on the options menu
Forza is a shit series.
Xbots use it to strawman
Project Cars blew Forza 5 and 6 out
And The Crew and Need For Sped got rid of Horizon.
Why is Forza even relevant? They promise simulation and then turn it into an Arcade game and fags say it's realistic
Yeah but it's still an arcade racer, it doesn't matter how many cars are in there they all feel the same, it's fun for 2 hours and then it becomes boring, I hope they don't take too long to release the new GT.
I did and, as I said, It was ok\fun. I sold xbone for a wiiU and didn't regret nothing
im sure if you had this game for PC you will be rubbing your dick all over it anon
dont deny it
The anon said it before me: most of Codemasters games, specially the original Grid, in which you can alter the experience to your liking.
It has 1 racing track with 3 variations per country. New tracks have been confirmed for 2016, but not much has been said about them.
Assetto Corsa had drifting stages mods, there are some pretty cool drifting cars already but the AE86 is coming soon according to the devs.
360 version has no rain, mong
>Driving games discussion on /v/
Am I in bizarro /v/?
I've played many driving games and to be completely fair I don't think Driveclub is a good racing game. My all time favorite game is still Gran Turismo 2 but if I have to pick one from current age I would have to say Assetto Corsa, it's both realistic and fun to play, not to mention having one of the best selection of street super cars among the non high budget racing games. It also shits all over Project CARs, which is only good to take screenshots and play LMP. Nothing will ever surpass Gran Turismo 2 though.
>not downloading custom cars
Fuck AC though, every patch they break every custom content ever, requiring people to maintain their mods and shit. Also impossible to get LAN working without having access to internet.
Also what other games but Grid do catch-up in multiplayer? Makes the game much more fun for everyone.
Although not realistic it has so much fucking content and a huge world and great online.
The Wild Expansion was amazing too
Monster Trucks, Drag Racing, drift trials
Such a great game that gets no credit
I wonder if anything from this list may have been the somehow responsible for it
>noone expected it to be good
>broken mess on release
>microtransactions making multiplayer literally p2w
driveclub is fun, but it's arcadeyness is ruined by the fact that it punishes you for playing to win. if you so much as clip a corner, HURRDURR CORNER PENALTY
also half the events and shit are microtransactions. game has way too many microtransactions. I wouldnt mind if it was just for new cars and shit, but damn
I love racing games, it's probably my favorite genre along with fightan.
Driveclub honestly isn't fun. Grid is fun, regardless of having assists turned on or off, GT6/Forza/AC become fun when you turn the assist off.
This game feels just bland like when you play the older NFS games but without all the crazy fun shit and with tryhard controls.
I wish they just re-released GT6 on PS4 with better lighting engine and actual 60fps instead.
No, that's why I put it in order, first column is for simulators, second column for rally games, and third column for arcade racing. Those are the best from their respective genres.
It's just a bad game that neogaf and that faggot who screams "B-B-BUT IT WAS PATCHED" keep on damage controlling.
Didn't the devs said some manufacturers didn't allowed the cars to get deformed from damage in their license contracts, and that was why the damage is basically only a texture?
>actually like GT6 driving a little more than Forza4
>carpark in GT6 is garbage unless you're a weaboo
Give me 70-97 euro street cars you fucking retards, how can you have 1200 cars and no fucking Sierra or E30
I don't know, but I wouldn't be surprised since manufacturers have become more and more restrictive towards their licenses after last gen. Hell, you cannot change the colour of some cars in Driveclub.
I like the game though.
I played iRacing but it's honestly only fun to fuck around in online, the handling in Assetto Corsa is much better. I heard rFactor 2 is a poor man's version of Assetto Corsa, the mods are even shared between both games. Besides GTR2 is pretty fun I don't know why would that be wrong, though I get why you wouldn't like me to include GT2, but at the time it was the closest thing to a simulator we had and it was great.
They were bullshitting as most of the cars in DC are in most other racing games can be completely wrecked in NFS 2015 and The Crew with doors hanging off, wheels going flying and boots flapping up.
I'm not sure the game even has capability for a damage engine considering the physics are pretty lol as is.
By the way since you're talking about The Crew, is it worth it? I heard it was shit on release but got better since then, and considering we don't have many choices on PC I was thinking of picking it up one day, that or the new NFS.
This, fucking sonyggers grasping at straws.
When it's cheap on PC, pick it up. Don't give Jewbisoft too much money for it. Physics aren't that great till the cars level up but the graphical update looks amazing in the populated areas (Better than Driveclub. When Photo Mode launches, there's going to be a lot of blistered Driveclub fanboy anuses) and it's got that Euro Truck comfy feel to it just exploring the cities.
Needs a few more patches to be truly great though.
My best guess is because McLaren has actual multiple road cars right now, while in the past they had one car (the F1 in the 90's and the Mercedes SLR in the 2000's).
Both of those cars showed up in Need for Speed all the time, though, I know that much.
tbqh I have Forza 6 and it's pretty fun and smooth, but I'm still heavily anticipating the next GT and maybe by then I'll also get to try DC.
there just isn't enough racing games
Driveclub damage control bingo
[X] "IT WAS PATCHED"
[X] "OLD GAMEPLAY"
[X] "BUH MUH WEBM'S"
[X] "BUT MUH PHOTO MODE"
[X] "BUT FORZA"
Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner.
Play The Crew. At least that looks good and has 60FPS on PC
>Ding, ding, ding. We have a winner.
but look at how pathetic you are anon, you won the shitposter\butthurt bing. at least sonygger is right, these webm are dayone shit from twitch
>these guys who patrol /v/ for threads based on games they don't like so they can unload their folder full of cherrypicked images and webms
Ur judging sims too much on factors that dont make a sim a sim. iRacing is a premium sim meant for leagues with some of the best handling and tyre modelling. Handling is a struggle of preference between sce, ir, rf, and ac. Ur list is bad cus even sce beats out 2/3 of your list without question.
yfw driveclub surpassed 3min copies and sold more than forza\dirt rally combined
funto drift around in the mountains
fucking love that they actually gave us the drift spec, totally makes the money worth it
get wild run if your gonna get it - driving around in perfs is cool and all but drift spec is really the reason to play the game
downside is its very grindy to level up your cars to a point where the game actually gets fun
I miss old Evolution studios
Back when there racing games had a "FUCK YOU" attitude with some of the toughest enemies and courses that make your buthole clench.
They were fun extremely fun but they had to pander to car guys and make there game boring and terrible
Evolution studios is an example of the gaming industry
Nope, I don't even own this game. Just sick of seeing faggots like you shit up threads with your inane garbage.
I don't even know what would possess a man to be so salty about a video game that he'd go out of his way to collect a bunch of cherrypicked webms so he can spend hours of his life shitposting every time he gets triggered every time he sees a thread for the game.
Racing games tend to pander to boring shit because that's the only way they get sponsored and the sponsored cars brings in the normies. It's kind of why I liked motorstorm or games like wipeout where sponsorship isn't a big deal - but they seem to not sell well enough I guess.
Fucking sad, a game like this existing today is unheard of. It either LE WACKY indie shit or MUH AUTHENTICITY sim shit
good racing games dont exist anymore
Just thought I'd test one of my webms from FH2
What would you like to see in one that would make it exciting and revolutionary?
For me, I'm happy if a racing game is either as realistic as possible, or full out over the top craziness.
>so much so that even having a game with actual rain and snow is pretty fucking revolutionary.
>tfw arcadey as fuck NFS High Stakes had day/night and weather, a damage model (both visual and performance based), 3d interiors, pretty fucking good AI, online/LAN and local multiplayer, user modding for cars and tracks (and a few official ones from Electronic Arts as free add-ons), a lengthy and actually damn hard career mode with unlockables out the ass, and a good soundtrack to boot
Where did it all go so wrong?
-doesnt obviously pander to /o/ crowd but can be realistic
-More modes than just racing
-No closed courses
-More content, not just more cars
-Fun and intense
>no closed courses
These things combined don't appeal to any demographic
Which do you use? I need a better one.
This is the smoothest one I have made.
I wish TDU 2 was good. With some decent physics and damage, it would have been my favorite of all time.
It would to me. How would they even know? Nobodies even tried it.
The one I use is literally titled WebMConverter
calling driveclub the best arcade racing game is going to rustle some people because everyone knows that besides the graphics the game is dull as fuck compared to other racing games.
Forza Horizon 2
>comfy as fuck festival atmosphere
>gimmicky yet fun showcase events
>well-designed open world
>more race-types than just road racing
>has microtransactions, but they're not required
>as arcadey or sim-like if you want since the devs are good at both, can tune everything
So the only thing DriveClub has in its favour is location variety and graphics.
>its the best arcade racing games to date
I won't deny this but my retard friend said that forza "is a realistic racing simulator because you lose power if you play with automatic instead of manual"
