I'll be playing for the first time on Friday evening. I usually like playing warrior types.
I've seen the fighter and warrior classes. Is it like prestige classes or can they both be played at a high level? And which is more satisfying in DD, sword and board or greatswords?
Classes are different, not necessarily better. The only class you don't want to play as is mage because it's just a healing and support type. If you play as a mage it's just to boost your magic skills as you level up before transitioning to Sorcerer or another magic using class.
You can sword and board. great sword, Hammer, and Mace and tower. for fighter(ish) characters.
And yes every class is viable but each class becomes more viable the higher ranked in other classes you are.
If you want to do some seriously good damage as a Sword and board fighter make sure to rank up Great sword Warrior to get the passive that increases Melee damage. doing a bit in strider and such could help with the problems of stamina.
Also the majority of the levels you spend on one class heavenly determine your stat growth.
Someone spending 80 levels on a mage suddenly used a Warrior won't stack up against someone who was doing nothing but warrior prior.
You should start as Strider, play the advanced version of strider. Work on Warrior and Fighter than Stay assassin until you stop playing entirely.
Unless you want to do some magic shit then you can disregard the warrior and fighter stuff and do mage and Warlock or whatever until staying Magick Archer.
I don't know much about the game but I'm loving the feel from the videos but I am curious about some things.
How is the grind? I am hugely against leveled areas in games ala skyrim. Does this game have scaling? If not does it feel organic when I go into a dangerous high level area or is it just stat bloat?
I really like situations where at lower levels with the right expense of precious resourse and maybe the right approach you can sneak into a higher level area and nab at least a few pieces of precious loot, is this a thing?
It looks like an actiony more ROLE PLAYING mix of gothic (I & II) and elderscrolls, is that a ballpark estimate?
Thanks in advance.
Bonus question: I'm not a fan of party play, is it viable to solo or maybe just have one other companion, even if I have to just muddle through at my own pace?
It does not have scaling, You will not frequently walk into your death if you don't just run like a bitch around everywhere. The mainline quests and such give you more than enough experience to level at a steady pace and if you want a challenge the Island introduced in the Dark arisen version is more than enough.
You get to those places that loot but Stealth isn't a thing in this game.
you don't party with real people.
You can solo by yourself. Yourself and your pawn or yourself your pawn and up to 2 more pawns from made by other people.
You can beat the game by yourself but there are monsters that take significant less damage from Physical or magical. In short you yourself can't fill every roll. Your pawn actually learns how to fight the enemies properly the more they fight them.
>How is the grind?
Not too bad depending on what you mean.
Does this game have scaling?
Nope. Shit ass goblins will always be shit ass goblins, so on so on.
No? There's not any kind of immersive tasks for you to do if that's what you mean.
>Bonus question: I'm not a fan of party play, is it viable to solo or maybe just have one other companion, even if I have to just muddle through at my own pace?
Super viable. Assassin has augments for solo play, I personally just go out with me and my pawn for max funsies.
>Game is released on consoles
>People play it on release threads die after few days because people realize its a medicore game
>See few threads weeks months after but not more than 2 in a month
>Mustard race is so starved for games opening threads every hour
Jesus Christ thats some pathetic behaviour
It was like that for GGXrd.
Rarely any thread those last 10 months, many threads before te PC release, shitton of threads after release.
And now nothing.
Also downloading skidrow's cracked DDDA. Hope it will run on my intel HD 4000
You seem to have made a bit of a mistake in your post. Luckily, the users of 4chan are always willing to help you clear this problem right up! You appear to have used a tripcode when posting, but your identity has nothing at all to do with the conversation! Whoops! You should always remember to stop using your tripcode when the thread it was used for is gone, unless another one is started! Posting with a tripcode when it isn't necessary is poor form. You should always try to post anonymously, unless your identity is absolutely vital to the post that you're making!
Now, there's no need to thank me - I'm just doing my bait to help you get used to the anonymous image-board culture!
>Having to do the cart quest again
Fuck I had forgotten all about that.
The game is definitely worth $30 IMO after playing it on PS3, but I'm holding out for a bit to see how the port goes when people have gotten further into it. The screens from the leak show how misleading their bullshots have been.
>to get good at the class you want to play you have to play these boring classes you have no interest in
What were they thinking?
It's multiplayer in the sense you can send your faggot pawn off the be used by someone else and they gain experience and shit. So your friend can "look after" your waifu for a bit and cuck you.
20% extra damage is a huge difference. Why would you settle for anything less?
If it was 2% more then sure, that would only be for min-max fags.
The game design is practically forcing you to play other classes.
That would be cool but I really think DD is fine as a SP game.
DD2 should be built around co-op though.
And you don't know what code is clearly. There's no difference between SA and JC2 and DD. They can all get modded the same way.
>And you don't know what code is clearly. There's no difference between SA and JC2 and DD. They can all get modded the same way.
The difference is in the engine you utter retard, you can't just mod co-op in.
This is one of the most idiotic statements I ever heard here, I hope you're proud.
Because it's barely going to make a difference and I want to play whatever class I'm playing.
If you want to be a min maxing faggot you're going to have to deal with min maxing faggotry.
>Defending a poorly designed game mechanic this hard
Why are you so hazed?
It irks me when I see people posting blatant bullshit they no nothing about
Playing the other classes gives you a boost and makes you OP, it is a million miles away from being a necessity. Playing the one class you want from the earliest point is perfectly viable.
I actually think it's a good mechanic, why wouldn't a powerful sorcerer make a better Magik Knight than someone who's never done magic before?
>what is compiled code
You aren't going to modify shit if you don't have the necessary tools. Adding something like co-op won't be possible unless you re-code the game from the ground up. There's simply no tools available or anyone that is willing to do that. But please, keep pretending you know what you're talking about.
Every class except for mage is viable.
Mage being a support class is nice to have in your party, but not nice to have as your main characters class. Also before you think casters are shit, sorceror is the powerhouse spellcaster.
Blinding cyclops. Breaking their tusks. using Oil and fire arrows to set shit on fire. When backed into a corner you can pull out your knives and stab two niggas once or stab a nigga twice.
Knock basically anything on their asses and deal AOE damage with arrow rains and shit. It's pretty solid.
No class other than strider and mage are worthless after you gain the other 6.
DDO isn't popular because it's nippon onry and it has some frustrating mechanics that make playing with pawns a hassle.
Apart from a few changes (e.g. you can't grab onto small enemies because you don't have a grab button, and you only have 4 skills due to one button being a dedicated action button), it's DD with co-op. There's a bunch of small details that have been removed (you can't grab onto harpies, shield drum has been removed, you can't hold other people/pawns/goblins, the chimera can't have the goat killed at all etc.) which make it a slightly shittier experience, but the core gameplay is still pretty good, and it's better than most MMOs out on the market.
Who else /pirating PC release because you already bought it on console/, here?
ill get it when its on sale
not worthless to start as. Worthless to main playing. Everyone moves on to assassin ranger and Magick night when they got what they wanted from Strider. Just like Mage. everyone ditches it and never goes back. But Fighter is viable even after you move on to warrior and such.
Why fucking keep playing it when Assassin keeps most of it's skills.
Like I fucking said. Once you have what you want from Strider you move the fuck on. Nobody goes back to it and stays there.
>I'm sure someone will make a mod, just like for Just Cause 2.
>There's no difference between SA and JC2 and DD. They can all get modded the same way.
>b-but what I'm really talking about is making tools!
>I'm the one deflecting
Good luck making a tool to mod co-op in without the source code.
Strider gets helm splitter and cloud burst volley which are unique to the class. If you can get to the 3rd level of those abilities (require BBI rings), they are one of the highest dps moves in the game.
That being said, I wouldn't play strider until I had those rings
Can I play sword and board for purely damage, or do I have to move to 2H for that? I love the aesthetic of wielding a sword and shield but this combo is almost always pigeonholed into being a tanking role in vidya.
It is pretty much, you lose some offensive capabilities and you gain some defensive skills.
So yeah, pretty much a tank.
I've never played it beyond level 10 though, so it's probably viable.
You get to make a few adjustments outside of presets but yeah its not nearly as complex as the character creator in say, Dark Souls. the ability to change height and weight is whats really nice IMO though.
Sword and Board probably does more reliable damage than 2H. The latter only really wins because of it's big chargeup attack and it's aerial attack.
It's a singleplayer game and not that difficult anyway so stop worrying about it.
You don't really. Even the worst offender (Magick Archer) does just fine even if you level only as it. Late game equipment far out-stripes what is gained from minmaxing. Still, you are right that the game would have been better if your stats changed when you changed classes.
Holy fuck I just grabbed an Ogre by the head while and made him fall off a ledge 10/10 GOTYAY
Strider, ranger, assassin and magick archer also get a skill which interrupts every animation (your attack animation, being fallen down, being staggered, being attacked etc.) which makes it piss easy to avoid everything
I want to like DD but when ever i load it up on PS3 i just think it's such a crammed cluster fuck and can barely tell what's going on
That's a thunder kite shield. Mystic Knights can equip it and as the name suggests it has a permanent lightning enchantment. Go to the northwestern part of the map around this place called the great wall. You should find a pet cyclops in a pen around there along with three chests. The fancy looking one should drop it but be prepared to reload just in case.
I feel like I'm the only one who's going to be switching classes around frequently for me and my pawn
which class makes the BIG DAMAGE NUMBERS.
I just want to one-shot huge bosses and dragons and shit man.
Strider is fun. Going with Magic you have 3 choices.
Sorcerer for maximum fuck you I'm going to drop 12 meteors and a tornado on your sorry ass.
Magic Archer for fun magic shots and an ability that makes you the human torch.
Mystic Knight turns you into spell sword that buffs your shield/self with magic.
Archer and Knight also let you use a staff so you can factor in all the normal mage abilities as well.
Actually yeah it is. The game uses very simple maths for damage calculation, it's essentially attack - defence = damage.
If you have 101 attack and the enemy has 100 defence, you do 1 damage a hit. 20% more attack = 21 damage a hit.
Yes you are right. If you don't min-max your class growths the game literally becomes unplayable and your class becomes unviable because of the hypothetical scenario you've just created which is very applicable and happens all the time in the game.
How about you take your retarded fantasies and fuck off?
I want to make an archer kuro. What class should I go? also will being a loli be worse for combat?
I was afraid it'd be the Dark Arisen theme instead of Into Free.
Going to be so good hearing it again on the main menu
Can I make a build based around explosives? This is important.
Not really but daggers have a bunch of fire skills, like one that propels the enemy in the air and you blow fire on it
Or you can stun enemies with explosives
Not a build, but it's possible to beat the game using nothing but throwblasts. There's also a strider skill that tosses an enemy in the air and chucks a lit powder keg after them.
Rangers and striders spamming tenfold/hailstorm respectively with blast arrows are by far the most powerful classes in the game, so yes, you can be an explosives master if you're willing to shell out the cash for blast arrows. Late game you'll get enough money to spam them. You'll want your pawn to carry stacks of them because they're heavy.
I CANT SEE MY FUCKING CHARACTER IN THE BEGGINING WHEN YOU CUSTOMIZE YOUR CHARACTER.
HELP ME SENPAI I DONT WANT OT MAKE A NIGGER ON ACCIDENT
I ran the prologue mission fine, i want to make sure the game runs on my machine good before i preorder
There is an item you can throw that explodes (and other throwable items that can set enemies on fire).
Dagger skills can throw what is basially firefrackers to distract and stun enemies.
All bow users can use explosive arrows.
Assassins can literally set a bomb and light the fuse as one of their skills.
All dagger wielding classes can also knock enemies into the air and set an explosive they land on basically.
Additionally you can find barrels full of explosive material around you can hit to detonate, or pick up and throw.
tfw pc fats think they won with sloppy seconds.
never claimed we won, we just enjoy good video games
not him but im wondering whether to go MK or Warrior.
MK seems like a lot of waiting around for shit to charge which i dont really want
Is that how it plays it mostly or is that just on a few skills?
I dont know, might be wrong but i've only watched this video on MK and not much on Warrior. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kf8DRVsUYeE
Haven't played the game yet but looking to play whatever is the funnest 1H+S or 2H (If you can) build
MK is a more fun version of fighter. You'll have support abilities, can DPS, can perfect parry, can do melee and magic. It's also the most balanced, unless you're going full DPS and then you'll play sorcerer for a long time.
Your build really depends on your playstyle, if you're going to use more melee attacks then you'll need to play Warrior/Assassin for a bit, if you want to do fuckhuge burst damage you'll go sorcerer.
Warrior needs to charge his big attacks. He's slow to play and not very versatile, but when you hit, you hit hard. You can just play warrior from the get-go, it has all the stats it needs.
>Warrior needs to charge his big attacks. He's slow to play and not very versatile
Eh, this is kind of the opposite of what i wanted. I'll try them both out and see how i feel with each. How is Assassin in this game if i only have say, my main pawn with me?
Assassin is a physical glass canon. You can use sword and shield, or daggers, and a bow. So it gives you a lot of options.
You're fast, dodge, can go sonic-mode with celerity, and do tons of damage. You also get access with your sword or daggers a skill to do a lot of damage when you're grabbing a boss, so it's really useful and fun for your first game.
If you get hit you're going to feel it though. If you only have one pawn then make sure it's a mage to get heals.
Your pic looks all blurry, maybe you didn't compress it correctly.
Assassin is the one with the best attack growth while Warrior gets the most HP.
Fighters are the middle ground.
In any case, all three of those vocations need to be maxed if you want all of the good red augments.
Just downloaded schoolproject.rar and it's encrypted and aksing for a password.
How do I access my 15 gb of dolphin porn?
dem 30 fps, console-locked pieces of shit you beta test for us really must feel good, when you're a virgin and don't know what it is to play a superior version of a game.
Not him, but yes.
Do I even need to post any of those games who got bullshoted to death and are geared to be 'cinematic'?
Not everything can be TW3 on ultra.
Assassin sword and board vs Fighter sword and board
Is Assassin even worth using for sword and board? The Fighter's sword and shield abilities sound a lot more interesting than the Assassin's but I imagine an Assassin just ends up doing way more damage
I have a GTX 460 and a Phenom II X4 and I'm getting 60 FPS consistently out of action scenes and 40-60 FPS in towns/battles, and that's at maximum settings. It's really well optimized.
Haha. The first time i saw this game in action was kinda similar.
My brother was playing the game at that same place and a gruff looking hired pawn with an eye-patch jumped on that ogre, and they both fell to their death down below.
May the one-eyed old-man pawn rest in piece. -.-
this game runs worse than dark souls for some reason, must be all those damn dynamic shadows everywhere, seriously not even 2016 games dare put that many collision shadow projectors in their levels and these fags made an entire city of fucking lights
>If you wants to fuck with your own textures: http://residentevilmodding.boards.net/thread/481/arc-unpacker-repacker-v0-26 - this guy's unpacker works, use the PC-RE6 batch file, just edit in -tex flag on the batch file, drag and drop the relevant .arc file on the batch file, find your texture you want to fuck with (adding -tex makes the unpacker create a .dds file as well as the game's format: .tex), edit the .dds, and here's the important part: read the .txt file the unpacker generated for the texture file, make sure you're saving your .dds as the correct format : either DXT1 or DXT5, with alpha channel. Then when you've mucked around with all the textures, drag the folder onto that same batch file - this will create a new .arc that you can drop in your game files (back up your original).

(way too blue)
Core skills can also be acquired. The combo is dependent on the timing of your swings.
Particularly, the warrior timed combo needs to HIT something for it to continue unlike the other physical combo.
Have we ever made a guide to making your pawn more popular? Something with tips like,
>Making your pawn a girl and dressing her in sexy clothing makes her more likely to get picked.
>Loli pawns tend to stand out without being offputting to too many people, like massive amazons tend to be.
>Appealing to niche fetishes makes you less likely to get picked, but more likely to take home high ratings.
>Mages have the flashiest attacks and leave the biggest impressions. If your pawn calls down a meteor storm and kills a boss that a player was struggling with, he'll be more impress than if your pawn just stabbed it's butthole with a sword.
I do have them. They don't seem to do anything though nor do I know how to activate them. I even went to my 360 gamepad hoping it would respond but nope.
Yes I set them.
>press B to use superrapeswingyslashward
>pressing b talks to the idiot next to me mid battle
You're forced to do jackshit.
Assassin is a versatile physical class because they can use daggers/sword and bow/shield.
Anything that is physically resistant will give you a hard time.
They have a good AoE attack and one of the best climbing attack.
Assassin is loads of fun. One of the most versatile classes in the game. While a bow may make some parts easier, the only time I remember ever needing a bow was for an optional quest.
CHECK YOUR CONTROL SETUP JESUS CHRIST
has the INTO FREE mod been updated yet? It has some nightcore version of it right now
Just played the leak.
Game's everything I was expecting it to be, first time I'm having a blast in fucking months.
I just wish the fighter was a little bit faster.
Novelty pawns based on known characters will catch people attention. There are a ton of people on Steam, for example, that would be completely unable to turn down a Gaben pawn.
When you start getting some of the L3 skill rings, you will be going pretty fast.
How do I NOT fuck this part up? Pawn is meant to be a strider and later on a full time Ranger
Great, that's good to know, thanks Anon.
I can't wait to get the Warrior and just murderfuck my way through everything.
I hope someone makes a cheat table to speed the game up in general. Just for more of a challenge.
It can be easymode if you rely on magic cannon and the defensive sigil but it's otherwise pretty damn fun if you pick some more utilitarian/situational spells like Demonswrath (which, you should).
Nugget will be available as a Pawn this time.
I only post it on request or to complete a series.
Other anons have started posting it too, can'T do anything about it.
Calm down, they like it.
Yes it can, any game with a table for stopping or slowing down time can also be sped up. Probably.
>four loli assassins will never crawl all over you
You have a wide variety of skills.
Regular Casting with a Staff
Perfect blocking allows the element of your shield to manifest in different ways
Can enchant your shield on the fly to different elements
Magical Attacks with Sword
Can equip maces (indistinguishable both skillwise and moveset, only higher knockdown chance and it's plain cooler)
Every class has...
Their own unique stat growth.
Some unique abilities.
Can equip some unique armor.
Most of them also have entirely different play styles (Strider is fast as fuck, unleash 200 hit combos while climbing on shit, Ranger is slow long range sniper)
No class is down right inferior, each class has something that makes them unique and "advanced" classes are not upgrades.
>/v/ cucks excited for a PC port
>of a PS3 game from almost 4 years ago
>the most jew company there is
I hope you're happy with being able to buy in game GOLD with real money like on PS3 and tons of DLC garbage shit courtesy of Capcom jew practises.
I swear. You faggots are just Redditors reposting your shit in here.
You were never able to buy gold, you were only able to buy RC
All the DLC is included for free in the game for the PC release, and the RC microtransactions are gone
You used the image I wanted to use.
Hurry up and change class as soon as possible. Otherwise enjoy pew pewing shit with your little balls.
Also if you pirated try to avoid Sorcerer. Sorcerer has insane casting times, even with the correct build. You need good pawns to keep enemies off of you while you cast, which you're not getting without going online and hiring some decent pawns.
You know this whole marketers thing was a giant ruse by ea to get /v/ to think that every supportive post is and will be a marketer?
You've been shilling for EA this whole time anon. Really as a sheeple of an axis of evil and the cancer killing /v/ you should kill yourself.
Is there any downside to throwing everyone I see off a cliff?
>change class as soon as possible
I'd like to, it's really not fun at all at this point and climbing onto something only to puff lightly at it with my attacks instead of stabbing it is extremely unsatisfying.
When can I? Also, I was thinking of going Magick Knight.
you will fail a quest if you kill your escort, otherwise no
If a guard sees you, they'll try to arrest you. This means for the rest of the game you either deal with guards aggroing you constantly, or get locked in prison.
When locked in prison you have 3 options.
1. Wait until you get set free (this is like an hour or two of real time waiting)
2. Basically pay all of your gold to get out early
3. Hope you snuck a skeleton key inside and use it then sneak out.
>can play a week early
But can you summon other players' pawns or just the game-generated ones?
You seem to enjoy a mix of story and action games, I'll give you that DD is pretty lacking in the story department but the action should have at least tickled your fancy somewhat
Alright, just about to start this shit for the first time. What class should I play? Which is the best?
Which is the most fun?
To be fair, that game is almost unplayable on the PS3 with that silky smooth > 20 framerate and letterboxing.
If you don't think playing it on PC is by far the definitive experience, you're delusional.
>What class should I play?
Whichever your heart desires
>Which is the best?
The one you like the most
>Which is the most fun?
All except Mage, since his thing is to heal, and healing in an SP is boring.
>No? why even play Mystic Knight then?
Because complete defense against almost every attack that the game can throw at you (I think dragon's charged up firebreath and Death's scythe being the sole exceptions), knockback against fucking everything near you when you perfect block and abyssal anguish's sweet damage output.
You create one pawn.
If you bought the game you can also hire the pawns other people have created, and they can hire yours.
Otherwise you get to create your pawn and then hire 2 randomly generated pawns.
Yes, don't buy into the shitposter's shitposting
even if you were to do something crazy, like 200 levels of a single class, and then change to the other, you'd only lose about 20% of damage output.
At level 200, you are pretty OP anyways, 20% doesn't make a lick of a difference.
Not required. Might make the game a little bit easier, but you'll never need to do it.
Worked the same way on console. Pawns you upload are tied to your account.
If you make a new save file, then upload your newly created pawn, the old one you had is overwritten. You need an account per pawn to upload more than one at a time.
>Not using the perfect block to activate the cannons
Press backspace, it will consider that an enter as well, but will remove a character in the process.
You have to keep using backspace and going back (B on the 360 controller) to remove 1 character at a time
Its stupid but its not impossible to re-do a name
>Go to Seyter's original torrent discussion

Assassin with Sword + Shield works differently from a fighter.
They're better at climbing on enemies, they get counter attacks and are very good at stunning enemies.
Their shield skills are less about just blocking the hit, and more about deflecting it. As such they're incredibly mobile while having a shield up. They also get some strong buffs with shields, in particular the ability to massively pump their damage output.
I'm definitely gonna start as a Strider, but should I go Ranger or Assassin? Which one is more fun?
Mystic Knight is way more fun than Warrior, but it's also more basic.
Warrior is more about positioning to punish and MK is more about kicking the ever-loving shit out of everything with giant frame-rate destroying explosions.
The reason Warrior falls short is a lack of skill slots. Hopefully mods will give him 3 more.
Yes it is perfectly fine
Took me about 10 minutes to extract + install
They aren't exactly upgrades. That's not really how it works.
Striders - shortbow, daggers. dunno, never played it
Assassin - sword, shield, daggers, shortbow. Super sanic climber
Ranger - daggers, longbow. Long range assrammer
Ranger is essentially Sniper Class with the option of turning your Rifle automatic and shotting 11 bullets in a spread pattern, or 10 in a row
Assassin is a jack of all trades, master of all trades. His skills with regular weapons surpass the classes that also use them. He can use Bow or Shield, Daggers or Sword.
Strider is like 66% melee, 33% ranged. Incredibly fast sanic speed melee and have the ability to combo together a lot of their skills.
Ranger is like 80% ranged, 20% melee. Slow as fuck while using a bow, but their bow is like a fucking sniper rifle and will totally wreck shit.
Assassin is probably the most varied class in the game. They have absurd strength growth so hit like a truck, but can equip the largest variety of equipment so they can do a bit of everything except magic.
>His skills with regular weapons surpass the classes that also use them. He can use Bow or Shield, Daggers or Sword.
Not true. Assassins get less dagger skills than a Strider, less sword/shield skills than a fighter, and less bow skills than a Strider/Ranger. But they have access to all of this rather than just two of them.
They do get some unique abilities, but every class has abilities unique to them.
Assassin is strong because of two abilities (Gale Harness for 3x speed on everything, and invisibility), everything else they have isn't particularly amazing though.
Improved textures, shaders, etc.
Custom items and weapons. Maybe some tinkering with spawn and difficulty.
I think the game has enough of a cult following. The people like this game really like it.
