80 PC games on Steam, dozens more pirated. I also emulate and downloaded torrents of every Genesis, SNES, Gameboy and Gameboy Advance game ever released in North America. The number of games I'm capable of playing from this computer right now is probably over 1000.
I think her videos are far too negative. Her research is not good enough and it's the most entry-level form of feminism out there. In fact the idea that her videos are shown in American collages is terrifying, not because of the SJW boogeyman, but because they seem like early highshcool essays. I know American education is a fucking joke, but it seems it's even worse than I thought.
But she's not 100% wrong all the time and she's not half the "feminazi" /v/ wants you to believe she is. She's talked about the negative impact of the tropes for men, as well, and there's some decent points in there.
The most interesting thing about her is not her videos or her work, but the reaction that her trying to make them has garnered. Her videos did not convince me there's sexism in the industry, but her attempt to make them did prove there's a lot of sexism in the player base.
McIntosh is far, far worse, and he's the one using her as a mouthpiece. Honestly I'd say she's probably not even that bad a person, but has been led to say really idiotic things by her boyfriend who is using her to make money.
Ironically, she's gotten herself into quite a patriarchal mess. Letting a man use her to generate profit. But I guess at the end of the day she goes with it because ultimately she knows there is sexism out there and she'd like to see less of it, and it's hard to see the full picture when you're being told by everyone that you're great and being handed awards all the time.
>around 30-40 PS2 games >around 20-30 PS2 games >around 20-30 physical PC games >234 PC games on steam >10-15 commodore 64 games on tapes and 5¼ floppies >4 physical DS games Probably forgot to mention something.
Most likely none. You remember how she made almost $200000 on Kickstarter, right? She likely used that money to buy that huge stack of games. Or perhaps they're not even hers, and it was just a carefully constructed photo op.
Honestly, though, it doesn't really matter. She didn't actually play the games to get the footage for her YouTube videos, and she didn't actually say anything about these games which couldn't be learned from reading Wikipedia. So even if those games were on her "research" budget, they didn't need to be.
She didn't really need any of the money, to be honest. She was already doing YouTube videos. The money she took in from Kickstarter was profit, minus perhaps the price of better filming equipment. It was part of her salary for being an internet feminist, not required funds for the project that was proposed.
>>323424320 A person who enjoys video games will dismiss a game if they don't like the mechanics, graphics or story. >"I didn't like Fallout 4 because the developers emphasized shooting over role-playing, sacrificing depth."
A "gamer" will dismiss a game because it's "SJW tumblr garbage" >"I didn't like Undertale because it's feminist SJW propaganda"
>>323423612 likely a "bit" smaller but then again i actually play my games for all i can i remember when i was younger reading the Morwind guide book to my older brother during the missions partly during loading screens.
My physical game collection is a bit bigger than hers, but if you factor in digital and assume that pic is all of her games then she is really smalltime.
There is probably 200 games max there if you allow that small Wii pile at the back to fill down to the bottom, otherwise around 160. That is pretty small and typical of someone who started gaming after 2007. I've never counted all mine but I'd gauge 600+.
I watched that shit closely while it was happening and saw more disgusting behavior from Zoe Quinn's white knights than from anyone actually using the #GamerGate hashtag for anything other than a blatant false flag.
More importantly, that was in 2014, and GamerGate hasn't done much in the meantime except post complaints about Kotaku on their little subreddit. Your ass should have healed by now. The only ones still stirring shit up are a gay British journalist on Twitter (whose pandering toward GamerGate doesn't make him the leader of it) and some other shitposters who care more about getting a reaction from you than doing whatever you're afraid they might do.
>>323425819 >The only ones still stirring shit up Brianna Wu has a hand in this too, she's always quick to use #GG as a scapegoat for criticism made towards her. I think Anita and Zoe have moved on beyond this shit too, especially Anita now that she's focusing on trying to ban criticism towards her from the internet in general.
>>323426683 The SJW/Feminist side is nothing more than a pyramid scheme to con money out of a bunch of gullible and gross looking people who are desperate to be relevant in society even though none of this actually has an effect on women irl while the #GG side is a bunch of people who are so bored that they need a reason to take a break from monotonous 1st and 3rd person gta or cawadooty style games so they choose to argue about a profession that nobody who isn't a self proclaimed geek gives twelve shits about
