its also pretty bs cuz before the update i was LE with a 6 game winstreak, ever since then every game ive lost i deranked im now mg1, and im unfairly destroying the competition,

I just started playing competative about a month ago. Got placed into silver elite, then ranked up to sem, won like 6 games and lost one and immediately got deranked. Then few games later they place me back into sem and left me there. Yesterday got place into gold, haven't lost a match yet but I have a feeling that as soon as I do I'm going to get deranked.

Was it always like this? What's the point?

I was LEM, I got on after about 3 months of not playing, it put me at Nova 3. I lost my first one then won 5 in a row easily. They didn't even put up a fight.

I actually like this new ranking system because it basically gave me a free smurf.

When I started playing I got placed into Silver 1 since CSGO was my first ever PC game, and the only FPS game I ever played other than COD zombies and casual stuff, and even after 100 wins I was still in Silver 1, but I enjoyed the competitive aspect, and had some good but autistic friends to play with constantly and after I got out of silver which was after about 140 comp wins, I started flying through the ranks and at about 300 wins I got LEM, and eventually GE, After the rank shift I'm back at LEM, but honestly if you enjoy the game you'll get better with time

one thing that i did like about the update is that its a lot harder to get carried or boosted to a higher rank, before i would mm everytime i lost my rank and get ak easy only playing 3 times a week, after the update played with a few friends who are global( they usually play esea but for some reason wanted to valve mm and needed a fifth so i said ok) we won, i think i got like 10 frags total maybe and got place in silver 4, which i think is pretty fair for someone like me who never plays.

They can't, because any person of "higher skill" will use their map knowledge, grenades and aim to easily deal with them and cuck them out of their expensive one-shot-wonder gun. You're probably right. I hit LE after my first 10 matches in cs go, hit LEM by solo queing but from my experience in MM, no one play as a team (if you don't queue into a premade ofc). People solo queue to play solo unless you're supreme+. Looking up and playing with others at my rank was the best thing I ever did.

There were settings so that the view always resets to the topmost position when stops moving. It lets you see over stuff you normally wouldn't see and also makes enemies bounce to higher.
