I'd say that indie game makers should take a lesson in 'less is more' but then we end up with shit like Slenderman where the villain literally does nothing because clearly if less is more, then nothing at all is the most.

You are aware of how much shit is keeping a painting in a frame, right? The canvas is nailed to a stretcher, and that stretcher is nailed into the frame. Sure it wouldn't take too long with a pair of pliers, but I'm sure time is usually a factor in art theft.

Especially in a goddamn video game.
