>using meme weapons
you don't do this, right?
Is Bow a meme weapon?
There's single player missions to do first. Unless you've completed them all.
The guild quests have monsters hitting harder and having more health. They should be done after you've completely finished up the single player quests.
Are you on 4U?
You are not forced to play online to increase HR, you need to do Guild (Called Gathering Hall in 4U) Quests which are scaled for multiplayer but they are completely doable solo if you are decently well equipped for the rank and you know the monster. Anyway I suggest doing most, if not all, of the caravan singleplayer content first.
That's cool, just keep going on with single player, you're not missing out on much by not playing the guild quests single player.
Unless you want to enjoy some online, you might find some rooms, or some anons here might be able to help you.
You need to get to the end of single player to get certain items to fight apex monsters in G-rank so it's a must that you get through it.
I was under the assumption he doesn't want to play with people.
The game should be done equally, that's how I played it the first time and it was fun as fuck, plus grinding rathalos plates wasn't as daunting.
I've been browsing MH threads fairly recently and I noticed there is a lot of CB hate. Why is that? It's currently my main weapon I like it for mobility when the sword and shield are deployed and the impact phials are very deadly.
Just because it's popular, CB is pretty damn strong and when you master all the advanced techniques it's a beast. I wouldn't worry about learning other weapons till you get bored later honestly
It's mostly just over saturation.
It's one of the new weapons this gen, so lots of people are using it because it's new and interesting. Naturally lots of shit players migrated to it as well and that can paint a lot of peoples views of the weapon as negative.
In 4U it's an incredibly good weapon as well, lots of versatility. So some elitists can look down on it, but fuck em, if you like it play it.
I'm new to the game, I just killed the Congalala with a sliver of health left. I have a Boosted Hammer and full Kecha Wecha set armor, how fucked am I if I keep going further? I'm new to the series so I have no clue what's best.
fuck hunting monsters, play card games instead
That hammer is pretty good.
You'll be alright, just remember the triple pound combo does the best damage for a hammer. Make a new hammer when you feel like things are getting too hard.
Well you can only keep getting better. Different monsters have different attacks and until you know what those attacks are and how to handle them it can be a bit rough. Just stick with it, keep making new weapons and armor. Since you're new I'd recommend sticking with full armor sets as skills in this game only activate when they have enough points in them, which most full sets provide in spades.
>all these new MH fags crying about popular weapons
Did you think for a second that people played monster hunter before and want to try the weapons new to the game?
Personally i've already used every weapon besides bow guns. so i picked up Charge blade.
Only thing to really bitch about online is people just plain being shit
>Bug stick people who only jump attack (Usually french)
>Hammer folk that only spin and never charge slam on the head
>Long sword users who love to run in the middle of all of the hunters and knock them all over and when monsters down
>Shit heads who will attack a monster when its mounted (usually french)
>People who mount a monster 3 times and get thrown off every time (usually french)
>Hunters who join a lobby and immediately throw up a urgent or whatever they want to do. even tho they're fucking new and the lobby has a target.
I assume you mean low rank Congalala.
Truthfuly, just upgrade the hammer/make new weapons, and upgrade or make new armor. It's a fairly simple solution.
In terms of actually fighting things, just use one or two fights as a training experience, learning the monster's attacks and movements. After taking a bit to learn how they operate, you'll be good enough to figure out which attack they'll do, and how to dodge/counter it.
>4032 ÷ 2
>playing card games
For what reason
4U would be a better place to start anyway.
Pick a weapon, get a feel for it learn all the moves it can do.
Positioning is most important, use rolls to get around to the spot of the monster you want to wail on.
If you're having trouble with anything you can't google, just ask here most people will be willing to help you out.
je suis monte is a meme for a reason. Also
>using Cancer Blade
>thinking you have the right to complain about the french
you're just as bad as them.
Grongigas is all I ever need
I've been playing LBG and been having a blast.
I don't get hit very often but I've carted occasionally from paying more attention to the reticule than to my health.
I should probably switch to HBG at some point but the mobility is hard to leave behind.
>I'm not like the other CB users I am a special snowflake that's actually good at the game! No, really!
the only one that needs to fuck off is you.
>More raw damage
>more more manueverability
>not as reliant on perfect timing
Many reasons friend, but I can also respect a Hunter who can take the time to master the GS
>Being so new to the game you aren't tired of other weapon classes.
Bitch please. been playing since ps2.
Believe it or not people like me are why new weapons are put in. I wouldn't have touched MH4U if it didn't have any new weapons
I'm quoting >>323381338, if you would be so kind as to fuck off and let the adults speak.
Then how are you not bored to tears by CB? it's easily the best weapon since they overbuffed it in 4U, a jack of all trades that's a master of all as well, and has a shield to boot just in case you had trouble with that dodging thing. At least IG has interesting mechanics, cancer blade does nothing but try and 1up other weapons.
Charge blades play weirdly to me. I prefer hammer for the playstyle.
4chan is the only place I've really seen people get up in arms over weapon DPS. It's generally just a 5-minute difference in clear times, right?
It's fucking fantastic.
Bushido requires you to be precise with your rolls, attacks and spirit slash.
Aerial is pretty good too apparently, I've never used it but other anons seemed to make good use of it.
>Bought MH4U on release last year
>Never got around to playing it
All I remember from 3U is the lengthy tutorial phase and I'm probably a bit rusty. Which weapon types are ideal for getting back into the series while not being underwhelming or overpowered?
I'm thinking of mastering at least two in the event that I play online, as to be a bit more adaptable
The hammer deals more damage over a faster period of the time than the GS. Not having to be perfectly lined with a monsters movement in order to get that perfect uber charge shot might have something to do with it.
>butthurt frog mad at the truth
are you having le frustrations? How about you git gud and contribute to hunts instead of shitting halls with your cancer. Or is that too hard for you?
I pretty much don't have as much time as i used to so i didn't want two weapon classes.
I picked up charge blade. Had alot of fun on the run i did in the demo. Stuck with it.
I like shield weapons the most. Favorite weapon ever in MH for me has always been lance. So having a shield is a + for me right there. and being able to turn into a hammer like weapon was just interesting enough to keep me in.
two weapon styles at once was a nice chance.
might go bug stick, lance, or sword and shield for X
Thanks, when can I fight Basarios (The rock dragon if the name is wrong) again? I'm really close to making a full set if I kill him a few more times
I personally wouldn't have a problem if they didn't buff it so fucking much in 4U. I mean it was useless and needed something in 4, but it got way too much of a boost. As such it got a reputation for being overpowered, the shitters flocked to it, and it fed into a cycle of being a really good weapon used by scrubs. 99% of all CB users you will encounter in the halls are faggots that got carried by it or other people.
>The hammer deals more damage over a faster period of the time than the GS
I'm sorry you're misinformed. Look, I played hammer a lot since FU, Tri, and 3U. However, they were just lackluster in 4U. It sucks, but you deal with it. Also run a damage calculator it will save your life.
how to git gud with gunlance (normal)?
Alright, so I should start from there and just switch when I look for something else in regards to performance?
It's a lot of choice right off the bat though, especially when Xbox HUEG monsters are still a while off.
SLAM ALL DAY AND EXLPODE
Well you can get pretty good damage that keeps up with the other weapons, as long as you have the right element to the monsters weakness, It'll be a pain to make 6 different ones so you can just use a Raw one.
Weapons to try for good damage are Greatsword, Charge Blade and Insect Glaive. They're all easy to learn hard to master kinds of weapons.
In 4U, you start with one of every weapon type. And caravan rank 1 has some tutorial quests solely about weapons and how they function. It's honestly the best way they could've gone to help new players.
The concept itself isn't for everyone.
Its no GS, but its incredibly versatile and safe.
Though it got rebalanced in MHX, its still a versatile weapon. Its just that you have to learn to snipe AEDs from Axe Form instead
, or you can just go Bushido :^)
Guess I'll see how I go. Is Insect Glaive really as overpowered as other anons suggest? Charge Blade does look fun but I don't think playing it a lot will be much good if I play the older games
I'll give it a shot.
IG is silly good in single player, it's because of the balancing around the mounting mechanic, that combined with an element glaive and trivialise the game.
I'd advise making one at the end of the Low rank caravan quests, so you can grind monsters easier, or if you have friends they can help you grind so you can make some different weapons.
IG gets pretty OP when the player can both gather essences quickly combined with it's incredibly easy mounts, so you can pour on the damage without much risk to you.
Just don't be a Frog Stick and vault directly into monster attacks 24/7 if you use it.
Guard Points no longer interrupt your attacks but at the same time, regular blocking can produce guardsplosions.
The quick blade-to-axe morph gets a guard point as well so you have two guard points for each version of the morph attack.
GP still exists, but instead of using it to counter attack with an AED it doesn't give you the knockback depending on the attack.
Perfect guarding with a bushido CB lets you do the full charged up double slash attack right away.
if you haven't gotten far enough to encounter the hgih rank quests they'll just be marked as stars.
Once you get HR and above you will have to select which rank and then they will be subdivided by their stars.
>That ecstatic feeling when leveling the aura gauge twice by chaining the Spirit Finisher and Sakura Spiritslash together
I could have come up with a more ridiculous shout-out for it.
Sword and shield is the definitive way to play. Sword and shields apply to practically every action game ever so getting gud at SnS will help you build skills that transfer into other games and every day life.
IG literally hits as hard as a Greatsword. Browse /vg/ sometimes, there's always a GSfag crying about it like you cunts.
I don't cry about being worse than other weapons because I play Greatsword due to it's satisfying animations, great varied moveset with lots of situational and locational utility, and no bullshit mechanics. Feels good man.
I-Is Bushido really that scrubby?
I only chose it since games like DMC and Bayonetta are more up my alley
>varied moveset with lots of situational and locational utility
Just what I need to cheer myself up, thanks for the good laughs.
I just made a Barioth Lance today in 3U on a whim, and I actually want to give Lance a try now. Should I give guard lancing or evade lancing a try, and what set should I do for each? I was thinking of making my first clownsuit to get Guard Up, Guard +2, and Sharpness +1 on a set together.
is this game still popular and alive, I mean I never played one before so I don't know, but I know that they released monster hunter x in japan this year. So how long until they localize it(if they ever do it)?
I mean I don't really want to star playing the game only to see it die in a few months
>Posting a webm of a HH cutting off a tail
>Not a webm of an actual hammer cutting off a tail
Question, so when I go on a expedition will only the monsters that are on the "card" for lack of a better term, show up, and should I just hit rocks looking for him?
What the fuck kind of Rathalos is this?
They've mentioned that MHX is kind of an different game, it's more about the player being expirimental. That's why there is wacky shit like the nyantas or whatever the palico mode is called and no G rank.
Not sigil, armor skill.
Zeru armor gives one called "Adaptation", which allows any type of damage (in this case impact) you do to change into any other damage type at a slight loss.
So a hammer, if the hitzone is right, can do cutting damage.
>no G rank
Wait, seriously? This is my first time hearing this
That's the wrong mindset, anon. HH is only support if you're a shit hunter, otherwise, it's just a good weapon with the benefit of buffing yourself
fuck buffing other people, only focus on your own buffs, you deserve the buffs more
Nope, on exepeditions, random monsters show up. The ones on the card are just the first ones to show up. As for the Basarios, you can tell which rock pile is him by looking at the color. The Basarios is a lighter gray the the normal rock piles.
I hopped online after not having played it for the last 3 months. There are definitely still plenty of people to hunt with, but I get the impression most of them are new because I keep seeing shit like people waking sleeping monsters, using LS or scattershot online.
Helped a couple of decent newbs through their urgents.
It's a harmless intro.
His roar animation and recovery match up exactly with the animation you get saddled with if you're hit by the roar.
Plus he never roars in the fight proper.
So it's just a simple way to introduce Ultra Grade roars.
>trying out CB after 300+ hours of solely using sns
There's so much shit to learn.
>Wish HH songs beyond a few had more use
>Usually just pack one's with decent raw and stamina songs since everyone I play with is hammers and dual swords
Just started playing, I can tell this game has so much shit to do it will take me hundreds of hours. How long did it take you to get good? It takes me at least 10 minutes to kill most large monsters, and I'll often get carted at least once.
Only use charge blade, at what point should I try a new weapon?
I've played every game I can get since Freedom 2, so let me assure you that it only takes about 30 hours to learn everything about a weapon, probably less for similar weapons after the first.
Try out everything in training, but stick with Charge Blade if you're already proficient with it.
Charge Blade takes a while to git gud with, look up some guides on guard points
it took me at least 20 hours to be comfortable with the game. This was with Tri like 5 years ago though. I still haven't gotten to anything resembling high rank, but I know Great Jaggi's patterns like the back of my hand now.
Anyone got any cool sets they'd like to share? I just made a bow set with the Enraged Dalamadur and full Lagi X amor that has:
>bombardier(I have status down with this, but when I feel like using status, I can swap it out for a disabler gem)
>use power coat
For those of you who aren't familiar with this bow, it has 372 raw, 170 blast with awaken, 3 slots, and gives you +45 defense. Lv 1 spread 3, lv 2 is spread 4, lv 3 is pierce 5, and it has a natural lv 4 charge with rapid 5. The only problem is that it can't use power coat normally, but it has every other coat bar blast(but who cares, it's a blast bow) with a coating boost to para.
Very strong bow overall. It's definitely up there with the Steve, Molten Tigrex, and Akantor bows.
Certain abilities require a certain number of skill points to activate, with many abilities having multiple tiers, sometimes even for negative skill points. It is a general rule that more points a skill is better, while any negative ability should be gemmed away with a skill gem that makes the negative skill point just high enough that it doesn't trigger the negative ability.
To activate a skill it needs at least 10 points (or -10 points). Some skills have additional levels at 15 and 20 points. If you do not have at least 10 points, these skills will do nothing.
Each skill needs at least 10 points in ether positive or negative to activate. Positive points make good abilities, while negative ones are bad.
Take my bow set for example. Say I have 10 points into bombardier and -10 into status. If I removed a +2 bombardier gem and replaced it with a +1 disabler gem, I have 8 points intp bombardier and -9 points into status. I don't have bombardier, but I don't have status down anymore.
Also, certain skills like attack have different tiers in both directions. Attack has levels at 10, 15, 20, and 25 points, while also having the same levels on the negative side.
My favorite monster for practicing CB with
replaced by Tamamitsune in X
>think Tama was going to be the monster to showcase using Bushido style
>none of it's attacks even hit you to trigger it
I've always wondered
Exactly by what metric does the MonHun community judge a weapon to be good or bad?
Specifically, how do they judge a weapon to be overpowered?
I mean, the game is strictly PvE. unless the weapon in question is literally a giant red button that instantly causes the monster to have a heart attack, at the end of the day, who's going to complain about an overpowered weapon? The monster?
Has the basics with Focus, Rapid Up, and Weakness Exploit and provides good support, especially with Para boost. Seems to have a jack-of-all-trades thing going on but is ultimately outclassed in its individual purposes by other bows. If you're moving through G rank it's perfectly fine but you'll want to move on to something that'll last you into the endgame eventually.
Good news, MHX does let you wear a full suit.
You have three choices: Blaze Rath, Silver Rath or Tempest Narga. All with good skills tailored for specific weapons.
>Good news, MHX does let you wear a full suit.
No you don't, MHX is basically
Free Head Piece (Normally use Crit Eye+3 piercing)
Rathalos Body S
Silver Los everything else
Dinovaldo or Outraged Tigrex weapon
CB and SnS have another option of using the Akantor weapon and building for Blunt Edge
Gunners (except Bow which is Normal master race) can actually have a variety of weapons and gear
I primarily use the LS so seeing this makes me giddy but at the same time I can see the amount of butthurt this'll create from all the tripping.
I wonder if they'll ever give the LS more narrow, focused attacks to make it more tolerable for others
I can't stand it because I rather nto spend my time looking for "MAX AMOUNT OF SKILLS for apex/140" and rather just make full armors and master weapons and just make all weapons and armor of g-rank.
If there is one thing I can say positive about the Outraged mechanic, at least it gives monsters some new patterns. Outraged Tigrex in particular has a specific combo that ends in a turn-around boulder push it does regardless of if the part is infected. It also baits with the fake-out charge much more often
My go to set on almost every hunt, primarily with IG or DB.
Weapon with 3 slots
Edgemaster 4 head (Zino Casque U)
Garuga Mail X
Grand Divine Ire Obi
Rath Soul Greaves Z
Charm is Hearing 7 Spirit 4 OOO (though you can make the set with a much worse charm like Edgemaster 4 OOO)
>That disgusting skill bloat
4U Babby here. Playing FU for the first time and loving it, got myself a Giaprey set and just hunted my first Kut Ku.
Pic related, drew my hunter.
>tfw you see people using Bounding Dalamadur with full SK gemmed for S+1
The entire reason the weapon is so godly is because of the fact that it doesn't need S+1 or Razor to maintain that giant white, and Bounding at white has roughly the same DPS output of Hellruin at purple. With the lack of S+1 and Razor you can make sets you would not be able to make with Hellruin like AuXL, Challenger+2, Weakness Exploit, HG Earplugs and Tremor Resist. Sorry for the autism, I just want people to understand what makes Bounding so special.
Is there any way to make Savage Jho easier besides bringing some foob? I just fought my first one and the fucker took forever to kill. I think I need to invest in some Tremor Res or something.
Also did some rough doodles about my experiences.
This was during my encounter with the Tigrex in the popo tongue collecting quest.
Maybe if you only look at the number it has for attack power. It lacks power shot which is a huge deal for bows, and Pierce does not work as well for them as it does for HBGs.
Status is always welcome. Blast is great for breaking parts while doubling as fixed damage. Exhaust boosted coatings have neat KO's on the side too.
If I wanted to spam vanilla normal ranged attacks, I would use the Livid Griscannon. And even then I would much rather cut my time in half with Destiny's Arm.
YO where do I buy the Power and Armor charms? I can't find them I already beat the Gore Magala so I think I would be far enough to have them :(
I ain't the best at drawing beasts but I'm seeing these doodles as good practice.
>rapid 5 on a bow that doesn't need load up to hit lv 4 charge
>pierce bow is shit meme
You could always gem power coating in. This doesn't stop ceadeus from being a great water now. Kama sedition isn't the only good bow in the game.
>Like Lance a lot
>Feel like shit dies too slow even when I play perfectly
>Greatsword is pretty fun too but I don't like it anywhere near as much as Lance
>Kill stuff in like half the time with it
If I have an MHX cia with v8 of the translation patch on it, can I just apply the v9 patch normally?
And if I get the new patched cia, can I just install it over the v8 game on my 3ds?
I think part of the problem is that all the lances I'm using are rank 5 or 6 right now and I need some later G-Rank materials to upgrade them (almost there) while I'm running around with a Cheda Blade for my greatsword with a pretty good clownsuit I managed to bullshit up thanks to a good Focus charm.
Maybe I should try making a new Lance clownsuit now that I've got all of HR and some of G-Rank done, see if I can squeeze Sharpness +1 in there this time instead of Razor Sharp.
Reminder that MHX textures are downgraded as fuck and isnt optimized when played with the n3DS.
Alls I got, aside from this which I drew months ago.
I am working on a doodle of my fight with the Kut Ku though.
sounds good, if you want to use lance then go on and get you a good lance set, I'd use the greatsword to get it, although I use the greatsword to get everything as its the best you silly billy :3
>>pierce bow is shit meme
>implying calling something a meme automatically invalidates the argument
Pierce on a bow is decent against Gogmazios and other giant monsters that'll let you get all the hits, but with Weakness Exploit on a rapid bow basically everything that doesn't outright nullify rapid shots is weaker to just getting shot in the face or other 45+ zone. Focus, Load Up, Rapid Up, and Weakness Exploit can be put together in an armor set with any trash charm that has 3 slots, and with only those skills it already outdamages other bows almost all the time if you're any good at aiming. I don't personally care too much if you're not using it but the Kama Sedition is clearly an anomaly among craftable bows with how strong it is outside of situations involving extreme elemental weakness (Chameleos, Gravios, etc.).
Besides, Genie's Grimoire is the most fun bow in the game.
Just started using the insect glave rescently, (half hour ago) holy shit this thing is strong, it's so fast does a ton of damage and you get free jumps and mounts why use anything else?
tfw you get the killing blow with the kinsect is so satisfying tho lol don't think I can get bored of that
das coo, I can't use lances I feel so slow with them that the game isn't fun anymore I just don't get them :\
How difficult is it to get? Easy-peasy like PSO2 or a huge hassle like B&S China?
Is it too hard to use a blast bow and not get called out for not using Kama? What really pushed that bow over the edge was not its sheer raw, not it beinng the only bow with raw over 350 to have power shot, but having a second set of power coatings that are stronger than the original power coatings themselves.
At least you have taste. I fucking loved using Genie's Grimoire before moving on to the Soaring Grisbow because breaking parts with slime coating and KO'ing monsters without arc shot is
Lances comes to guard lancing or evade lancing from my experience.
Counter Lancing a monster's attacks and having teammates follow up from the sides rarely gets old.
Evade Lancing is probably where I'm put on the edge of my seat since I'm back hopping through attacks like a madman and getting off effective hits.
Once you get into the flow of it Lancing is pretty damn fun. Something about counter lancing a fireball that normally ruins your day feels fantastic.
every fucking time I start up the game, It gets to character creation and my mouse just moves to the top left of the screen and I can't even make a character.
As someone who hates the existence of i-frames in Monster Hunter (they're a crutch), I still love evade lancing without any evade up skills. The real bonus of evade lancing is how fucking easy it is to preposition yourself into optimal locations.
It was a little daunting but just start with easy monsters and learn the mechanics of the weapon.
I went through Guard Lancing to get the feel of it and moved through the moveset. I'm hardly the best but I can hunt reliably without many issues. Though I'd imagine getting off the IG's attack style would be hard.
You'd be shocked how stuff like forward guards and counter lancing monster roars can put you in ideal positions.
I use Courageous Wish for Blast since it's a rapid bow with all the good damage stuff already on it so I can jam in more damage skills on my armor set. Those skills plus the bow's power shot makes up for the relatively low raw it has in comparison to other Blast bows.
QUICK GUYS MY FILE GOT DELETED
DUAL BLADES, HAMMER, LONGSWORD (KEK) OR SWITCHAXE
Molten Tigrex just because I love how crazy it can turn if he decided to run you over to death right before screaming your brains out.
but I do keep a GQ130+ Kut-Ku for shits and giggles when I need to kill time.
Rajang weapons tend to be superior thunder weapons.
I really liked Opressor's Genesis in 3U because it had 3 slots and high raw at the cost of element. If anyone can confirm if it's still good in 4U, that'd be great.
I considered Courageous Wish, but I'm a sucker for Dalamadur's weapons since a lot of them surprisingly good. What skills besides rapid up and maybe weakness exploit? My grisbow set has AUXL because why the fuck not.
Probably the Raths, honestly. Specifically Ian, though normal Los isn't too bad.
I think they're nice to hunt if I'm bored or maybe let off some steam from a tougher hunt.
Akantor is a fun punching bag
brute tigrex is a lot of fun for how easy it is to get in position.
GSing blue Yian Kut-Ku is also a lot of fun... basically just lvl-3 charge to the head after lvl-3 charge to the head with the occasional just in time dodge out of its jump beak slam.
evad lancing Gravios/Basarios also never gets old.
>tfw solo hunter in mh4u
>get all the way to HR Rajang
>fucking cement wall of difficulty out of nowhere
fuck i hate this little monkey nigger
>use dark matter with full grand mizhua
>GS bro gets free triple damage
>stygian zinogre dies in little over 2 mins
>later use parazagged edge
>para out the ass while dealing decent damage unlike felyne and melynx++
If your teammates have knockback armor, LS are true credit to team.
this, that electric motherfucker zapped his way into my heart
Focus, Rapid Up, and Weakness Exploit are basically required for rapid bows since all their hits can be focused on a single weak hitzone. I haven't updated my Courageous Wish set yet but it has those, plus Bombardier as a free skill to boost Blast damage. I need a slightly better charm so I can squeeze Challenger+2 in there with them.
Chaotic Gore, and all the Nargacugas in previous games
>not destroying monsters with crit draw
You don't really need focus on a bow with only 3 levels. You're much better off going for something like peak performance.
Incidentally, Zinogre Z was practically made for the Akantor Chaos Bow.
>dragon attack +2
>load up(which is crucial since akantor only starts with lv 2 like steve)
>rapid up gemmed in
Shagaru bow a shit 288 raw is utter shit
whats a good starting weapon? never played this shit before.
Focus with 3 charges actually lets you get safe shots off almost any stagger that would otherwise not give you enough time. Very useful to get free damage if the monster's facing you and you stagger it with a head shot.
sword and shield are pretty good, as is the hammer. Once you start to understand how combat works in terms of positioning and not getting hit, you should be fine to branch out to everything except maybe lance/gunlance and the bowguns, which have a slightly higher barrier to entry than the others.
Deepest weapons are Charge Blade and GunLance but unfortunately the GL doesn't reward you for its depth, simplest weapons to pick up and hit shit with are the Sword and Shield and the Hammer.
Weapon depth from low to high
>SnS (Stylish Bombing)
idk where you'd put HH and i excluded GL since it should never be used
I think it's funny how Charge Blade and Insect Glaive kind of became the hated weapon with 4U, but the stigma Long Sword got from Tri/3U still stains it to this day.
Yeah, I agree. MH4U was a bit of a stretch, but I think it generally held together all the important basics of MH without going TOO crazy.
But MHX is just...
It doesn't really feel like MH. And I've actually played it, so it's not just me judging shit based on videos.
blocking is another thing that is hard to get used to before you get used to having no lock-on and that you have to face where the attack is coming from (which isn't always directly in front of you where the monster is)
>but unfortunately the GL doesn't reward you for its depth
It fuckin' does with Artillery God. Kinda sad it basically needs that to be viable in G-Rank, though. Sheathing and/or Evade Distance help greatly as well.
Y'all niggas in this thread too angry. I don't care what other people use, I care how they play. And I use what I fucking want. Hammers, horns, and DB for life.
I don't recall the CB getting much hate and I played IG for a while without incident. They might be overpowered and have some shitters, but it wasn't to the degree that the LS caused trouble.
i don't care
he asked which weapons have the most depth (i.e. combos, mechanics, variables to keep in mind) so i gave him my opinion
omitted HH since I've never touched them
play whatever you fucking want
Solo kill times?
cause here's the thing, gunlances are pretty good and dealing with hit zones other weapons are bad at, so in multiplayer, they can deal out good damage without fighting for spots with other weapons. So you aren't missing out on long term damage from fighting over weak points.
Where did you memers get the idea that mushroomancer is good for DBs? It only gives you benefits of regular dash juice, not the mega juice. And regular juice is as easy to farm as the shrooms. At least in 4U. Get a better 5 slot skill.
it's similar. no underwater fighting, tighter controls in general. and of course the monsters are mostly different. If you didn't enjoy 3U after 200 hours, then you won't enjoy 4U.
I'm going to emulate PSP on my computer.
Can someone explain me why people tell me to play MHFU over p3rd? Mind you that I already played the former.
>Go out on an easy hunt
>Hunt goes to shit
>Go out on a hard hunt
>That, too, goes to shit
seregios pls go
Remember kids, don't be a corner horner. Be a battle rattler.
>Gore is the flagship monster you fucking retard
Does anyone actually pack dung bombs on every unstable quest? Up until now (rank 9 village), unstable meant like 10% chance of anything else showing up, and when they did, most of the time I was the one that had to go out of my way to hunt the extra monster. Seregios is just there to shit things up, though, and it seems like every time I dung bomb it then either, he's just gonna fuck off for litterally a single minute, or the monster I'm hunting is gonna follow it to the next area in literally a minute. Shit's tedious, not even jho was this annoying.
I only take shit bombs when I know Seregios is gonna show up... which I guess is every quest from now on.
They're all just recolors. The only thing MHFU has going for itself are G-quests and some Elder Memes.
It's only harder because of retarded hitbox.
Is it worth buying 3DS only for Meme hunter?
MHFX kinda makes me sick with all the changes that have been made. Why aren't they releasing anything on sony handhelds since p3rd?
>fight Brachydios for the first time
>22~ minutes to beat
Well, what I learned was to bring my own stash of deo, use them while I'm near it, and to watch out for that distant leaping attack. Navigating the map while avoiding those slime covered bits felt like navigating Snake through a minefield. Dayum. Still managed to ragdoll everywhere because of those fucking explosions.
My first time fighting Tidal Najarala
IIRC, Capcom wanted dedicated online servers for multiplayer like with Tri on the Wii, but Sony was unwilling to provide the service, and instead told them to rely on the shitty systems they had already based on PSP wireless connectivity.
It's all about skills. There are tools (like Athena's) where you can plug in the skills you want and it will tell you the pieces of armor/what kind of charm you'll need to get said skills.
A good first mixed set for GS is UkaUkaU, a combination of Ukanlos and Teostra parts
Force, you have plenty of uptime if you chain force and drive one after the other.
Unless you use the bugstick you don't actually need drive, stone or no stone you shouldn't be attacking bounce zones.
Bounce zones do shit damage regardless of whether you use the stone or not, so ideally since you shouldn't be attacking the area you shouldn't need the stone, In practice though there are times when overhead or wide swinging attacks hit bounce zones and drive prevents you from getting horribly fucked up for it.
I'm not saying don't use it, but you don't need it if you know what you're doing.
Apex ziggy doesn't need it. Apex Jho only needs it if you use IG. Apex Blos doesn't need it, Apex Gravis is a joke, and Apex Tidal is a laughing stock.
So no, you don't need drive if you know the bounce zones. Unless you're using frenchstick, that's understandable.
i just joined a G2 rank room to hunt tigrex and both pickups carted within seconds. i fucking hate this it happens all the fucking time
>make it to Harth
>decide to try and build an armor set before continuing
>do an expedition
>2 Tetsucabras run away mid fight, one after I broke its jaw.
>Kut Ku flies away mid fight
>finally kill a Great Jaggi and call it a day
>fight a Kecha Wacha for 10 minutes, then a fucking Velocidrome swoops in
>Kecha flies straight up and away
I'm having fun, but damn I don't think I have the heart for this
Fuck yeah, brother.
This house fly just spazzed out in my face and then dropped dead onto my chest, what the fuck. It's the middle of winter.
