ZoE: Fist of Mars, let's keep going
Anyways sorry it's been a bit, I forgot to do a second thread before I went on a trip for a bit and then I caught a japanese cold at the airport on the way back
So last time we cleared the first stage and got a LEV, a mystery waifu, and got wrecked by some edgelord
There's an intermission screen, but it looks like we can't upgrade anything with the money we earned yet. We can tweak these balancers which I assume change how fast your cursors move for attacks/dodges vs how much damage you deal/take
There's some pretty fucking extensive reference sections here, let's see if it says anything interesting
Like two weeks, sorry.
A week of chicken soup and shitposting
The mech file isn't interesting so far, the terminology is basically just explaining fucking EVERYTHING if you haven't played ZoE1, but there's this fucking gem. Two weeks ago I called this guy Kaworu and called Gay Piano in our future. Looks like I was right.
The more recent stuff is on Desustorage thankfully. I'm leaving the links in there so I can remember the thread numbers if the newer archives ever recover all that data.
So yeah, apparently Cage and Ares friendship is founded on a goddamn gay piano session shortly after Cage started working on the ship
There was this bit too that was kinda funny
And by Desustorage two posts ago I meant Fireden. Forgot /v/ was on a different archive from the rest of the boards now.
Anyways let's get a move on. Last time we saw our hero and Ms. Ellipses, they were falling through Mars' atmosphere
Hooray, we're not dead
Rapidly approaching Dingo levels of snark
Uh, her name appeared when it's not supposed to again
Cage points out that she's the one who told him to get in the fucking LEV in the first place, but it turns out she's got convenient plot amnesia. And no concept of irony considering the bug going on here.
Cage apparently knows her name somehow. I forget why since I actually played this stage like two weeks ago.
Cage points out that she's not talking... like... this... anymore, but apparently she doesn't remember anything from before she woke up in the cockpit here.
Our AI buddy has finally introduced herself too
Hold up, I though you didn't remember anything
Pharsti does this sometimes when people are talking to her. I'm not sure if she's just being a smartass or someone needs to update the damn voice recognition.
Takes place after ZoE1, came out before ZoE2. No idea how relevant the story is to either of those. Maybe if we're lucky we'll meet Leo./
Cage points out that she at least knows what a LEV and an AI are, and Myona seems relieved that she hasn't forgotten the basic stuff. She still can't remember anything about herself. Hooray for laser guided plot amnesia.
Apparently Pharsti was doing a brainscan on Myona while they were talking, at least she's not brain damaged.
Dolores? No clue.
Looks like Pharsti's autopilot led us to a relatively safe landing. The monitors are finally booted back up and all there is to see is a whole lot of red. Cage suggests we go find a colony town.
But civilization managed to find us first.
The military found us in our super top secret unregistered LEV, that's never good
Apparently we're under arrest for the destruction of public property? What public property? Red rocks?
I blame Myona
Oooooh spoopy mystery villain plotting oooooo
The guy on the right is apparently some rich asshole from Earth, the other two are from Mars. Faceless Villain #3 here apparently doesn't like the Earth guy
Hello handsome soldier man
Cage is doing a very bad job explaining what happened
I always wanted a qt halal waifu
I don't think that's gonna work
Apparently there's no satellites that recorded what happened, and we're seemingly being framed for attacking a military base
Looking pretty cool there Cage
And now Cage is crying
Our hero, ladies and gentlemen
Apparently the investigation on the Bonaparte III has already been closed, it was concluded that the ship exploded due to engine failure, not from an attack
And then we're thrown in jail. Fantastic start to our first day on Mars
Apparently Cage's name was on the deceased passenger list, which is probably why they didn't believe his story. They probably though Cage was just some asshole stealing a dead guy's name.
Cage takes a minute to explain to Myona everything that happened before we landed, since she still can't remember. Myona makes a bunch of guesses about why they're being framed, but in the end it seems like the only conclusion is that someone was covering something up, either on the ship or about that black LEV's activities
Sitting here theorizing all day isn't going to solve the problem of how the fuck we get out of jail though
Gay piano starts emanating from this thing Cage carries around
Oh god this is gonna be a plot point isn't it?
Crap, now we have gay ghosts haunting us on top of all the other problems
Sorry man, I don't swing that way
Shit, he's alive
