Do you agree, /v/?
2011/12 deserve to be on the list above 13, 2015 only got on that high due to recency bias, 2007 is overrated and should be bottom three, and 87 should be cut.
Rest is okay, though I prefer 97 to 98 personally.
Didn't like it at the time and its aged like milk, only reason it's notable is the sequels.
Bretty gud admittedly
Bretty gud admittedly
It's okay but also worse than literally all its (really good) sequels, pretty much a LoZ situation
>Double Dragon, Gauntlet, Goonies II, Leisure Suit Larry
It really wasn't that great a year.
I can't believe fucking Leisure Suite Larry is the best PC game you could come up with. Like Jesus, REALLY anon?
I want off this ride.
I admit I might be mixing it up with something else but I'm 99% sure it was the one game my group of friends straight up refused to play at the arcade because of how boring it was.
As in we would straight up wait for literally anything else to be available rather than spend even a quarter to kill time with it.
Double Dragon literally INVENTED beat-em ups.
Whether you like it or not you should go fucking kill yourself, because it's an extremely important game. Same with Gauntlet inventing dungeon crawlers, if it weren't for Gauntlet, Diablo wouldn't exist.
I actually agree with GT, partly because their list is really good, and partly because of their soundtrack choosing in this vid.
Though '97 and '98 will be my personal number 1, nostalgia goggles maybe. My brother owning a N64 and me a PS1, we practically played the whole of 'best games of 97 and 98' at release time. Them adding in 2001 at the number 2 spot and mentioning Ico which is in my most loved top 10...
Can't see anything I hate about this list, so there seem to be guys at GT that know their stuff.
If you rated years by how """"important"""" games were rather than how good they were then 1958 should be no. 1 because the first game ever came out in it.
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Driver San Francisco
Dead Space 2
>2015 was only 66% better than 'wank'
Your shit taste continues to astound me.
Dustforce, X-com, Hotline Miami, and Dragon's Dogma (on 360) are all strong 9s.
Sorry you have shot taste.
and the way she kept talks on point, people called her for it but it kept things on topic. That one episode were ian is just sat there not even talking, i get its meant to be funny but it was just sad.
Damn, that was a pretty good year.
Shit that has like 4 of my top 10 games on it. What the fuck, man, what happened the last 3 years?
Sony'S have struggled to get games out the door, most AAA devs were just shitting out scraps in 13/14 while they start up stuff for current gen, steam opened the flood gates so it's harder to find good Indies in the sea of shit, and handhelds/the Wii U have been getting most of the good stuff until late 2015 as a result.
>no mention of Undertale
They did it right.
>games are getting better guise!
>not realizing that games have been going on a steady decline since 2007
>not realizing that major devs are focusing more accessibility that quality
>not realizing that pic related have more influence on what content comes out in America that actual people who play video games
>not realizing that we've been getting rehashes and sequels more than actual good IPs every E3
>"But 2015 was such a good year! We got car soccer, squid lolis, and furry earthbound!"
>ur just old and sad lol
theres been no steady decline
some of the years have been good (2010, 2011, 2015), some have been bad (2012, 2014) but theres no pattern, just oldfags crying about how life has left them behind and lashing out at their 'favorite' hobby
Great But Can Get Really Annoying Tier
FOR THE LOVE OF FUCK SHUT UP Tier
Ian "I love black cocks" Hinck
Nope it was a Genesis(which I only had one game for)
The first legit console I had with many games was the PS2 though
93/94/95 can't be beaten
So many great Genesis,SNES and Arcade Titles during that time
>motherfucking 2004 not on the list
>fucking 2013 on the list
>2005 not in number one
if you look at the list you going to see that i think 2004 was better
but 2004 is not on the list so the second best was supposed to be number one
also are you shitalking shadow of rome?
with the exception of a handful of games, 2005 was pretty unspectacular
I like how most anons think the GT staff is overall pretty okay.
I miss Damiani and Kayser the pun-master, everyone hated his appearances on GT TV and his dumb hair but he was good vibes on streams and around the staff.
I couldn't believe 2004 wasn't on there.
>Metroid Prime 2
Shane and Marcus leaving made me like the site infinitely more. I miss Damiani and lazyeye though. Current crew is pretty good. I don't like Ian normally but he's good on GT Time as long as his quips are occasional. No one I really dislike otherwise.
>Any year after ~2010
2015? Are they fucking kidding? 2015 was yet another landmark year for the slow, ever-creeping casualization of video games as a whole. Broken games and cut features everywhere, more content held hostage behind season passes, watered-down gameplay everywhere.
I always thought Shane and Marcus were kind of corrosive to the vibe of Invisible Walls, it was constant debates on absolutely nothing and at something Shane's whiny voice grinded me the wrong way.
Marcus went alone trying to do his show and let's plays which was embarrassing and became a lazy cunt.
It was mostly because the whole show was them yapping and not letting the other two guys get any words in. Then when Shane left and Marcus was the host, he would spend half the time yapping and half the time looking bored. The current crew at least respects each other. Brandon can go on a little too long at times but he's not even close to as bad as those two.
Yeah and whenever they review trailers it feels like 90% Brandon talks and the others try to chime in. Or when he jumps on a stream he just hijacks it, talks to the chat and barely pays attention to the game the other guys are playing.
The Order 1886 stream was weird as hell, Brandon going nuts on Huber, Kyle leaving and coming back with a new haircut and Bloodworth's ghetto friend being a weirdo.
But the crew is fantastic, it's basically the only people I watch lately, it sucks that they keep losing people.
98 was not a bad year but I think it's overrated for a list like this.
2015 shouldn't be that high, but it is one of the better years for sure. I don't get why people are acting like last year was shit.
I'd personally move 2005 up a lot. Like at least top five. Or maybe I'm thinking of 2004. Either or.
2004 is best year
>paper mario ttyd
>half life 2
>rome total war
>rct3 (fuck you i like it)
>counter strike source
>up your arsenal
>Ben is ranked high here
Am I only one who think Ben's has the most plebbest of taste and has awful opinions in general? He really cant explain his reasoning well when it comes down to something specific, which is bad for video game reviewer
Ben is a weeb and buys too many games
He isn't really that great and brad is honestly a lot better
His style of review is usually appealing because it can capture the feel of the game and he can talk about fun experiences he had
Its very hit or miss whether you like him or not but atleast he isnt annoying
don't bolster the list with shitty games like kotor 2 and counter strike source
neither of those games lived up to their predecessors although kotor 2 eventually got its restored content mod.
