Woke up at six this morning and have been grinding non-stop until now. I find it fun for the combat and looking for ways to utilize damage. Some few select characters can be annoying but it's just their character. Land is alright but I personally find myself looking at my mini map and getting to the next probe sight rather than exploring (probe sight being you go to this area and put down a fast travel that can give you minerals/money)
>reading reviews >no one mentions the small text >no one mentions that skells ruin exploration >no one criticizes the fact that the plot is unfinished and full of holes >no one mentions how g-buster breaks the game
>but they opine endlessly on "it's so grindy" when literally you're spending most of the game overleveled
I beat the main storyline in less than 80 hours, I'm level 53 and don't know what to do now, every time I start up the game I just turn it off because I feel like I'm done with it, like it has no more rewards to offer.
>>323319193 Definitely worth $60. Content is insane, but the story lacks closure. It's to be expected when they introduce an entire new world and they focus on a few things at best. First game had everything covered, but stuff remains a mystery here and doesn't quite add up if you think about a few things. Even then, it's a very fresh game in which you'll find yourself doing lots of stuff before going on with the story, easily making beating the game 50-100 hours. I do suggest trying to get all the probes/get some decent survery% before using skells.
>>323325792 >>no one mentions the small text legit complaint, they dropped the ball >>no one mentions that skells ruin exploration wrong, also >implying reviewers got a skell >>no one criticizes the fact that the plot is unfinished and full of holes >implying they finished the game >>no one mentions how g-buster breaks the game >implying they got that far
>when literally you're spending most of the game overleveled I had to grind levels just so I could start story missions. What are you talking about?
>>323319193 >It's not as good as Xenoblade and Xenogears but better than Xenosaga. >combat is great until chapter 7 where you learn Overdrive and it breaks the game if utilize right. Skell/Dolls are braindead easy. Too many playable characters you won't use and are pointless as most play the same. >story is mediocre where basically nothing happens besides Ch.1 and Ch.12. Not as creative or interesting as XB or XG as all the story content was rushed out the ass. Your created MC is there and is just nonexistent. Normal missions are the real meat of the game, while basic missions are google missions where you try to find tier-5 rarity items. Also Tatsu aren't no Riki. >OST is great but the sound designers fuck upped real hard. During some cutscenes you can barely heard what the characters are talking about and they use the same songs over and over. >has major pop-in issues even if you download the data packs but the world of Mira is beautiful and the geography is wonderful. X can and (will) drain life out of your day. >multiplayer is a awful piece of shit that fuck over what could have been a great story. The online is just use for Global Nemesis and scouting other players online for farming reward tickets. >Postgame is 90% grinding supports missions.
Not the best game ever like people imply but does have a lot of content.
>>323327427 I beat the game at 80 hours. Mainly because I wasn't sure if my skells would be fine at the final boss. It would include grinding and get a lv.50 skell...but I got neither when I beat the game. Had just done some extra exploring and quests. For now, I'm just going up on getting the survey rates up. Looking for treasures and tyrants I can kill. A little bit sick of doing lots of quests and gather collectibles. Hoping to get enough free reward tickets for the Ares 90. Also, getting your probes up will work aswell. I got most of them on foot except just half of them like that on cauldros. Was fun looking. 100 hours in now...still havent hit 60. Also bringing along randoms for affinity.
I hope you enjoy being forced to do side missions where you search through a massive open world to find a tiny piece of item with 5% chance of spawning in a secret area surrounded by overleved monsters. People used to call Xenoblade a offline mmorpg, but with Xenoblade X its really true. If you can get past those parts of the game, you might find the fun and interesting part.
>>323319193 I think it depends. If you arent really the type of person who enjoys time investment and excessive detail in games then its not for you, but its certainly the best game to come out "this year" for me.
>>323331987 skell fuel, not done many of those miranium quests myself so I don't know if they eventually become worth it and are regular. Try finding him yourself, hes around the middle part of the manon ship
It's a single player MMO like people say when they shit on it but I don't think it's a bad thing. Basically a huge world like in MMOs, ton of stuff to do like in MMOs, fighting huge bosses like in MMOs with similar combat but not having to deal with idiots who don't know how to play.
Basically if you like hunting things, completing quests and exploring a BIG world this is for you.
>>323319193 How is that even a question if you have a Wii U and like RPGs. It's not like that system has more than a handful of nice stuff.
The only reason I haven't bought this is because Dragon's Dogma and Blade & Soul both come out this month and I'm going to try those for free and see if I like them enough to leave Xenoblade X for later.
>>323328004 >has major pop-in issues even if you download the data packs Holy shit this, it improved asset loadtimes byaybe 3-5 seconds on average. Considering that it was originally 20-30 seconds, the data packs are useless. You'd think the packs would help with the whole "my Wii U is a fax machine" issue but nope, nothing. This game REALLY shows how underpowered this console is.
>>323333548 The story in this one is garbage, and the main cast (Elma, Lin, Irina, Gwin, Doug) are extremely boring. The side characters are pretty funny and interesting though. HB, Nagi, and Yelv are bros.
>>323328004 >game has more content than any other jrpg I can remember >the content isnt good
Quantity over quality at its best. I like the game and all but holy shit am I disappointed. Once I'm done with the main story I probably gonna drop it forever. Its also sad that its pretty much the only rpg on the WiiU.
Combat sucks. I hate Soul Voices. You can't play defensively at all, every fight is just a DPS check. TP generation is too low and doesn't feel balanced. Unless you give your moronic party members no TP arts or have Irina be a TP bot with ramjet, they will never revive you. Combat just feels like both you and the enemy are just attacking air.
>level 58 >beat chapter 10 easily >do Then and Now right after >two level 80 sphinxes >mfw skells getting topple locked to death in 5 seconds flat >mfw I can't hit them at all on foot >mfw I saved after fighting that pathetic "dangerous" bug thing earlier in the mission, so now I'm fucking trapped
Alexs quest line is fucking great had hope and L on my squad I was laughing my ass off when they both gave affinity when I watched the manon die instead of intervening and then said humanity should whipe all xeno out
