Well /v/? Are they right?
the golden era, 97-07 is pretty well represented so i'm good with it
2015 being in there is a joke though, there was literally 3 good games last year. and all 3: UnderRail, SR:HK and Age of Decadence, were PC only indie CRPGs
>2015 being in there is a joke though, there was literally 3 good games last year
Yeah, I'm sure you played literally every game that came out last year, so you're a good judge.
>Unskippable dialogue events ruined the genre
2015 was the year of disappointments, and none games, if Her Story and Tales from the Borderlands came out in a good year, no one would give a shit about those games, MGSV is one of three games winning the game of the year awards when its not a complete game
2013 is the minimum that should be expected for a year in games, but late ports to PC pushed it into that
Well, they HAD to shoehorn 2013 and 2015 in for that shillbux but otherwise this list is ok.
7/10 would not sperg out at,
> my nostalgia
How green are you? While 2004 wasn't exactly yesterday it's a bloody stretch to call it nostalgic. I would doubt 90s either. Being nostalgic about 80s would seem about right.
I enjoyed Rome back then but it is definitely not nearly big or influential enough for that list.
Same for Prime. I don't mind first one getting a honorable mention but using second one as an argument is redundant.
And vanilla WoW has completely ruined the genre and -despite what nostalgic retards may say- aged like shit with rest of the genre.
Where the hell is 2000 ?
Resident Evil Code: Veronica
Rayman 2 dreamcast
Jet Set Radio
Marvel vs Capcom 2
Skies of Arcadia
American McGee's Alice
Spyro: Year of the Dragon
Final Fantasy IX
The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask
Dino Crisis 2
Tekken Tag Tournament
> 2013 - The year of playing it safe
> 2015 - The year of disappointments
>While 2004 wasn't exactly yesterday it's a bloody stretch to call it nostalgic.
There are kids who were born in 2004 and already got laid. How the fuck is it not far enough for nostalgia?
Shut up Grandpa
You can be born in 1998 and be able to browse this site. In 2004 then the person would just be 6 years old. A lot would be nostalgic about what they did at that age.
The 2013 defense is weak. Last of Us and GTA5 are not enough- they don't even mention it was 3DS's best year.
Even 2014 is far better.
>phenomenal year that was 2015
closed youtube right there
They make a compelling arguement for all their candidates but how in the FUCK can you omit 2004?
>Half Life 2
>Paper Mario 2
>GTA San Andreas
...Wait what the hell else came out that year?
2004 had San Andreas, HL2, Underground 2, Halo2, MGS3, Kotor 2, etc...
Who the fuck made that list?
not a single good game got released
(ok witcher 2015)
Not impressed, GT
Now we enter the age of shit, see you guys in 6-9 years when the new gold year hits.
>2015 on the list
The only thing surprising about this is that there was no mention of Undertale. I was sure they were going to gush over it. It was obvious 2015 was going to be on a Gametrailers list however. They're all about the "now" and keeping it cool with their website viewers. When have these lists ever been about "well-formed opinions"?
What the hell even came out in 2015? When I reflect and think about my five favorite games from last year, one of them is Plague of Shadows. I have to resort to dlc because 2015 was so boring.
>2004 and 2007 not even on the fucking list
I didn't care for any of it, but there's no denying that a lot of decent (if disappointing) games came out in 2015:
>Just Cause 3
>Halo 5 multiplayer
>Super Mario Maker
>Ori and the Blind Forest
>Life is Strange
>Rise of the Tomb Raider
>Pillars of Eternity
