What went so fucking right?
>Weaker hardware than the PS4
>Still sells 12 million in 38 months
>Has the best lineup of games
>Nintendo money behind it, meaning Sony can't sent it to the trash like they did with Sega
Not owning this thing means you're a total cunt and basically fucking stupid.
>"Still" sells 12 million in 38 months
The games the Wii u built on the Wiis success perfectly with a new gimmick that the casuals ate up while still offering hardcore experiences like bayonetta 2. The ps4 on the other hand is basically shovelwear multiplat bullshit that even casuals cannot tolerate their new paid online with Facebook integrated inside
This is true, the wii was insanely successful. Wii U is not however, it's not even matching gamecube sales. We'll see what happens with the NX but really nintendos moneymaker is the 3DS
If they go back to making good hardware to match the others, I can see it being successful as long as they have no gimmicks.
The real issue though is how nintendo handles third parties. Couple that with free online and I might even pick one up.
The last time they had very good hardware for a great price coupled with great third party exclusives they lost hard against the competition. I blame the average consumer for not buying the GameCube. It was a great machine that did everything right, yet people didn't buy it.
>Nintendo shitpost again
That's why none can take you seriously
can nintendo survive making niche consoles?
I'd love it if the 10 million nintendo fanboys alone could sustain nintendo and we'd all have a console relatively free of AAA trash. But I'm sure nintendo is always going to want another wii
>still has a year left in software titles
>NX still may not be a game console to replace the WII U
>may still have inferior versions of NX games if NX is the Wii U sucessor in 2017
Dreamcast had amazing games and some of the biggest quality to quantity ration of any system. It was also the last of its kind when it came to the kind of Arcade gameplay in games you just can't readily find anymore.
>No, because their competetitors are outselling them 3:1
Are you daft? Nintendo was never competing with sony or ms. That's why they released it earlier. Then the xbone and ps4 came out at the same time to compete with each other.
Now nintendo is releasing another console after the other 2 were out for a while.
That's kind of the only objective thing he could go for, the rest of it is based off personal taste. I would add that all of those games are incredibly easy and have little to no depth.
>but it was never meant to be a big failure and it is.
It made profit and sold a lot of copies of first parties such as splatoon. What else what it suppose to do? It was more of an extension of the wii than anything else.
Its the same thing with the 3DS, every third party game that comes on it is unnecessarily downgraded to run on shit hardware and would be better of on any other console. But on the Wii U games can still look good, so thats a plus compared to the 3DS where most games are either chibishit or look like a pixelated mess.
>a video game company isn't competing with another video game company
So this is the power of nintendrone autism...
>it was never meant to be a big seller like the wii
Your're right, it was meant to be a shitty rehash of the wii with a different gimmick, and they were hoping that it could continue riding off of the wii's success. Nintendo is the same as all the other triple A shitheaps, why can't you see that?
