It took the Wii U 3 years to sell as many consoles as the Dreamcast did
The Dreamcast, which didn't even last a whole console generation and whose managing company was tearing itself apart
The Wii U is never going to sell well

Unlike Sega, however, Nintendo has loads of cash reserves, and is more than willing to ride out the generation just long enough to not piss off fans too much (whereas Sega was reeling from the failure of the Saturn outside Japan)

Depends on the game mode you're playing, anything that covers a lot of territory fast is good on Turf War, so shit like the Aerospray RG is pretty common. On any of the ranked modes, Jet and Dual Squelcher are great for defending important areas.

Many people, including myself who were there with them since the NES days disappointingly turned their heads away during the Wii era because many of us realised what Nintendo has become. I'm a Nintendo 'fanboy' and I agree with all of those things. Apart from the gamepad criticism, anyway. I didn't think I'd like it, but off-screen play is great and so is two-screen multiplayer. I'd really miss it if it were taken away, now. They made some pretty bad decisions with the Wii U apart from that, though. I'd have liked it to have had a better name, for one thing. Even Wii 2 would have made more sense, and been more obvious to the casual consumer. There are a few positives, though: the pro controller is excellent, and practically every game supports its use; that alone is a huge step up from the Wii's controller abomination. Still, can't defend the other shitty decisions they made for no reason. They probably could have gotten away with it too if they just smashed out new first-party titles that weren't spin-offs, but they decided not to do that either. If we had a bigger 3D Mario, a new Zelda already, an actual Animal Crossing, a Metroid, then the console would have been much more appreciated despite its many faults.
