Am I the only person that doesn't think this about the Arkham games? Sure, games trying to emulate Arkham tend to fail to see the point, just like people who say this, but once you get past the first few hours, combat encounters can NOT be won with just Strike and Counter. You NEED to use your gadgets or other abilities to take out certain enemies, so each combat encounter is more like a puzzle than a fighter. You're the God Damn Batman, the combat part isn't what's difficult, but analyzing what enemies pose the greatest threat, and how to eliminate them is. In that respect, the games do such a good job of putting you in the roll of Batman, as combat itself is second nature, but being able to survey the battle and come up with a solution to every encounter is how Batman prevails. It's especially gratifying to walk away taking no damage. Just because you walk away untouched doesn't mean the encounter wasn't hard.
