So, /v/, which is it?
Empire, Rebels, CIS, or Republic?
Empire is the only choice
I feel guilty as fuck for enjoying the new Battlefront. But some of the cool shit they did right just won me over. Luke's animations look like things he actually did or would do etc. Just wish it had all of the content of BF2.
So what would you guys want from a new Star Wars game?
X-Wing vs Tie Fighter on a modern engine.
The Clone Wars as a whole certainly aren't but when you consider how monstrous the entire concept of clone soldiers is and how shitty it makes the Republic/Jedi Order look, it does get interesting.
You and me can be friends.
I actually really liked the clones. Pretty much everything else is pretty boring though.
I'd switch clones and CIS, but they're close for me. I just don't care as much about prequel stuff as OT stuff.
Both are equally fun to play in BF2. Droideka can't be passed up, though.
Well, of course. TIE Fighter has one of the best campaigns I've ever seen in comparable combat-oriented (whether space sim or otherwise) video games.
Letting you choose which battles to work on didn't let you get terribly stuck - you could always come back to them. The stories were subtle (no superweapons - just lots of pirates, rebels, and traitors), and it felt cool to unlock ships (like the TIE Advanced and Defender) as you helped facilitate their production.

God, yes. I miss this, now everything has to be either lightsabers or superweapons. Mostly lightsabers.
I know. In TIE Fighter, you were pretty much just an average joe pilot who became a slightly less average joe pilot. It exemplified the mundane, and then made it interesting. It made you like the Empire - not out of lofty ideals - but because it was your job
and the ships were cool. I can't think of many other games that are like this - like you said, most games feel the need to put the player in some godlike role, fighting with lightsabers and dealing with superweapons.
Spot on. Only Republic Commando made me feel something similar.
I've always been more interested in the background characters, so some kind of sotrmtrooper simulator would be something I'd play. As long as it isn't just a Call of Duty clone.
It barely even takes a few more. From my experience, if you start taking fire and don't immediately get the fuck out then your shit outta luck.
What's your favorite vehicle? Mine is probably interceptor or advanced with torpedo
I liked flying the Bomber, simply because it truly had that niche bomber feel.
Felt cool to fly in and take down a capital ship with rockets. Now, I know that you could do that in later, better ships (and the Assault Gunboat), but still, there was something fun about going in with that small, but slow Bomber.
Assault Gunboat all the way.
Fuck the Defenderfag edgelords. And don't get me even started on the
Did anyone look at the tech room in TIE Fighter?
There were a LOT of ships. Some of the designs were pretty cool - it's a shame they weren't used in many other games.
>it's a shame they weren't used in many other games.
Well we don't even have any movie ships anymore except for x-wings and TIEs
So long, A, Y and B-wings, and TIE Interceptors, bombers, and TIE advanceds.
The PSP Battlefront games are superior gameplay wise
>custom loadouts
ES has hacks that let you equip lightsaber and force powers
>transition between land and space battles
>Star Wars Commander is canon
This makes me irationally mad
>Vader eventually finds out she's his daughter
