Paki fag here. On the surface this should sound true. One way to look at things is to ask ourselves why is it so easy for ANY adult to gain a marriage license. Marriage has its own sets of responsibility that most people people aren't prepared for. I mean hell, I don't know of many marriage prep classes.

But I look at contemporary history of the last 150 years and the American model of marriage has worked pretty well. I don't have a rigorous set of steps as to how I reached my conclusion but a high successful marriage rate (rate of couples remaining together) is one of the reasons America in the 20th century was so dominant and a great place to live. Those stable two parent house holds produced the best scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, writers, etc.. In the world for a long time.


I know I sound like a fedora owner, but your average American woman of today has had 10 dicks in her before her first marriage and a culture that accepts that and passes it off can't be healthy so maybe it's something more fundamental? Fundamental issue I think is that a lot of research shows that women aren't actually attracted physically to the majority of men, but in the past were forced to marry for other reasons, primarily economic security and social status. Now that women can work and are treated as equals they can hold off on marriage while they wait for Mr. Right, but there's not enough of those to go around.

So women will settle for somebody she's not attracted to once she's running out of time to have kids, and won't be happy in that relationship once those "make a fucking baby!" instincts wear off. Then you wind up with cheating, divorce, or just an unhappy marriage. There's a reason 70-80% of divorces are initiated by women with the reason being "dissatisfaction". And since we've got this free exchange and globalization of information men are becoming more aware of this dynamic and opting out of dating in response.

Or maybe I'm just pulling shit outta my ass but I think it's a reasonable conclusion when you notice that people are marrying later and divorcing more, but it's hard to be sure.
