Western games are too focused on the whole cinematic thing with an orchestrated soundtrack in the background.

It doesn't matter how beautiful and immersive your game must be, it probably doesn't have catchier music than a fucking Blazblue/Guilty Gear game. It's probably not as memorable either.

Time to just accept that Japanese games are the best. The only western games where you'll find hype boss music is indie games for some reason.

I mean none of them are Yoko Shimomura levels of good or anything but I'm not sure how you can say any of those are even close to bad. They at the very least manage to capture the catchy and melodic nature of most good Japanese OSTs, all while having those constant reptitious rises and falls that help add to the strong powerful emotions a good boss theme should give you.
