challenge: play this shit in the dark, alone
...although vault 81 was nice after they accept you
actually this is my first Fallout game, but I hear 3 was crap - should I bother playing the others after playing 4?
New Vegas is the only good Bethesda Fallout game, 4 is at least passable. The only thing 3 did right was atmosphere and some cool architecture. 1 and 2 are good but not for everyone, but some don't like 2 befause it's full of pop culture reference
The only redeeming quality of 4 is the Power Armor that makes you feel like a walking tank and that's only this. The rest is either bullshit or mediocre paste.
As bad as 3 was, it is actually better and New Vegas takes everything 3 had and makes it better.
Still you better play the older Fallouts by Interplay + Fallout Tactics.
I like pop culture references IF I get them - I was around back when it came out but was probably on console more at the time. I also messed around with the Amiga 500 back in the day more than IBM PC
NV is amazing and still fairly accessible to almost anyone. Hell even my sister and gf had a blast with it. Generally avoid 3 unless you crave more Fallout, which is understandable since there's not much else out on the market to compete against.
yep, what sold me was Shadow of the Beast, and I didn't have the color adapter at first, but even black and white was impressive as hell, because it's competition was 8 bit Mario and the NES library
And it's still somewhat better.
>No Fallout Tactics 2
>It was 80% finished and then scrapped
>We could've wrestled alligator men
And yeah. The only minus of Tactics was the linear plot.
If the story was more polished and expanded + made completely non-linear, then it would've been best pre-Bethesda Fallout.
Three endings, yeah. Two of which depend on how you talked to
cyborg Barnakyand one involving yourself.
But the problem is that the missions were happening one after another.
If the game had quests like in the previous Fallouts + had great interaction with NPCs, then it would've been sweet.
Either budget or fear that would bomb.
the good ending where you use your brain and bring peace to the wasteland is the hardest to get because the brains count as non hostile enemies and you lose karma for killing them
FF Tactics and FalloutTactics are different tpes of SRPGs, Fallout is realtime while FF is turn based, Turn based tactics works far better on consoles than realtime. Realtime strategy games like Red Alert and other work better on PC
Well, nothing's easy.
Welcome to the monstrous world of the videogame industry.
And the guys behind the game met a sad ending.
Even Big Huge Games were mutilated after Kingdoms of Alamur: Reckoning in the same manner. At least they released the game.
It never is easy. And some people don't live that long to see their dream-games come true.
Well even the original Fallouts are actually easy with the right stuff, perks and skills in turn-based.
Yeah, but minus active pause.
>should I bother playing the others after playing 4?
This is the new face of /v/. Fuck it, I am out. I just cant fucking take this bullshit that gaming has become. You children have fun.
