3DS if you like it portable, otherwise emulate. I like playing on the go so I went with the 3DS.

They're basically the same game in terms of gameplay in story. But the graphics and performance are largely different. It's absolutely pixelated in the 3DS version and runs far slower. Definitely get the WiiU Virtual Console version.
