Would it sell tons, sure, but there is no real investment in it for them, same as Konami. They get more money from random ass microtransactions than they do actual game sales anymore.

Besides tons of games are expected that we'll never see. It's a sad truth, but one we must live with. Besides do you really trust current Valve to make HL3 good? Look at them try to sweep their recent shit under the rug and even try to avoid EU Law by going back to US servers and shit, sure it makes games cheaper for the EU, but it absolves them of any wrong doing there in the end.

Valve is the same as Konami, they're not a game developing company anymore, it's more about investors and how to make the quickest buck of idiots who buy anything.

My fucking sides, nobody gives a shit about Half Life these days. It's only a vocal minority and even then HL1/2 were never the top seller. Fucking Call of Duty Rehash #47 would sell better than it and by a good margin.
