>tfw beating up your old crew
Damn. How did a shitty rapper based fighting game give me feels?
>uses an improved version of the AKI engine.
AWWW SHIT SON
I used to play this with a bro all day. We even made a Tupac and a Biggie.
>those team combos
Also wasn't the only way to have perfect stats was to have a perfect run on the hardest difficulty? I know I had one character like that
>shitty rapper based fighting game
Take that back motherfucker both Def Jam games were absolute gems.
>IMMA RIP YOUR TONGUE OUT AND LICK MY ASS WID IT
>mfw this game is in the break room at new job
Whenever I think of quotes I found funny in that game, the story mode comes to mind, when Trejo is about to shoot you and says "say goodbye, bitch" but his weapon is out of ammo and makes a "i'm so fucked" face and your character says "goodbye, bitch"
Also Flava Flav victory "I came, I saw... I kicked yo ass!"
next DJ never, was ICON any good? I only played a demo, that scratch mechanic was confusing and the game had no HUD at all I think
>make your own character
>choose a gf
>Snoop steals her away
>says you have to beat up your homies, "or else"
>instead of talking to your crew about it, you just beat the shit out of them because "muh gf"
choices my ass
granted, it's been years since I've played, maybe the story was better than that
>tfw Crack beats the shit out of you
Fuck Fat Joe. I avoid all his music because of this.
>didn't even know who half the people in the game were
>didn't even like hippity hop
>it was still really good
based af desu
>playing with older bro and friend
>all 3 were played at the friends house
>Kanye West is final boss
>shitty rapper based fighting game
Can't believe no one has mentioned yet the fact that you can kill your opponents with the stage/environment itself. E.g. You can push someone on the train tracks when the train is about to arrive, you can push Snoop outta the window in his penthouse, etc.
Expect a really good 3d westrelling game with rappers, i advise to check out each fighting style on youtube first, ocne you upgrade your character or choose a style you can't go back.
Also remember to block and parry punches/kicks and counter grabs, it is hype as hell.
>tyler the creator
man, todays rappers are really soft if you think about it.
Iggy Azalea? Only hear that name, no idea of her other than a fat ass on her.
Is Soulja boy still relevant?
Is it still 2006?
Hey guys I'm thinking of getting one of the series for my self and maybe a friend.
I got a ps2 and PS3 still, he got only a 360.
Should I get icon or Battle for ny for him?
>Flava Flave was a drunken master
This game made me like rap music a little more.
To bad rap is dead today because you can't call the shit we have today rap.
Also was a little piss that Fight for NY didn't have DMX, and his music like the first one did.
>There are features exclusive to PS2 and Xbox that are missing from the GameCube version. The player is restricted to having one voice for the main character - as opposed to the six found in other versions. Eight of the 28 available music tracks are missing. The Gamecube's hardware lacks the light blur effect that permeates on the characters and arenas. Furthermore, certain 3 or 4 player arenas have reduced crowds due to the minidisc space limitations
PS2 it is
YOU WILL BE DESTROYYYED.
YOU WILL BE... DESTROYYYED HAHAHAHAHA!
>To bad rap is dead today because you can't call the shit we have
Not to sound like a 90's fag, but rap was alot better back then.
Words used to rhythm, not just say cool words and call it music.
Today little niggas like anything if the nigga on the cover is pretty.
nigga gives me life on snapchat. makes me feel good that a nigga as fat as that can be successful through nothing, yet still lives a happy life and tries to motivate others.
FUCK THAT GUY
this will never happen because the def jam franchise is dead.
fight night 2004 and fight night round 3 are unironically the best games on PS2 outside of shit like god of war, shadow of colossus
that series was incredible, 2004 is the most fun one because it's just brutal and has the best minigames, but it crashes for me in pcsx2 even though it's supposed to be fully working
downloading now and I'm very familiar with the workings of pcsx. Will let you know ideal settings once the rom is complete. Most likely just need to disable MTVU speedhack (which I really only use for tenkiachi 3)
can you figure out how to get fight night 2004 to not crash
being able to play 2004 is important because the game will let you whale on KO'd people for like 30 seconds as they ragdoll all over the place, it's the funniest fucking shit ever in a video game
>god of war and fucking shadow of the colossus
but those are some of the worst games on the ps2, especially SOTC which is casual, pretentious hipster garbage. god of war is just QTE's: the game
wow what an intelligent and compelling rebuttal, you fucking autist
>i feel any need to offer a rebuttal to your bad opinion
everyone can have their own opinions you just have bad ones there is nothing I care to say to "rebut" this, you just have bad taste, sorry bro
a casual who enjoys a game that is literally 80% quicktime events saying other people have bad taste
fucking screencapped, this is neo-/v/, ladies and gentlemen
here, have a /v/ comic from 2005
Only if you include buying every move in addition to maxing stats and buying two other styles.
>mfw the Scrapyard fight with Blaze against Crows guys
STOP DYING YOU SHITTER
>Damn. How did a shitty rapper based fighting game give me feels?
It was made in Japan.
Otherwise, it would have ended up like 187 ride or die, or any of the other urban culture games made by urban culture adherents.
>That fight against Crack and Magic with Blaze near the end
Just defend yourself for more than 10 seconds you ass
While you down man, how 'bout you shine mah shoes?
AY WHO TURNED THE LIGHTS OFF?
>It was made in Japan.
>Otherwise, it would have ended up like 187 ride or die
Oh boy that's a name I haven't heard in ages
come on now, aren't you forgetting something?
It was. AKI corp made it themselves mostly, with EA canada doing a lot of the voice talent and the like.
They also made the Yakuza games on PSP. If you like Def Jam Vendettta and Fight for NY, you should pick that game up if you don't mind Japanese.
>Not made by AKI corp
Hence why it was garbage.
WHO /WRASSIN/ HERE?
Combining it with Martial Arts and Submission made a funky ass style in the GC version.
Based Aki Corp.
There is even a custom finisher when you execute a special move near the tracks or the window.
The load times are bullshit and the AI is too in some of the later stages but the game is incredibly over the top in terms of the violence and the goofy underground fighting story. Definitely worth a try.
This is what happens when companies get the 'wider audience syndrome'
Thing is, both Def Jams were good on their own. The white kids had smash and power stone, the black kids had Def Jam and street fighter, the Spanish kids had...king of fighters I guess. But anyway, every fighter series was doing decently, some more than others, but they all had a specific group that liked them.
It wasnt wider audiences, it was simply given to a shitty EA inhouse studio which cant make good games.
They also cheaped out on the roster because EA is a shit company.
Shit was made by Aki before. They know their shit. They made plenty wrestling games before.
