Verminion's greatest crime is the time it was released.

The 3.1 story quests last maybe an hour with no new primal fight, Void ark was meh, the EX fight felt like it should have been in the Heavensward base game and Diadem fell flat due to poor multiplayer design. Given the mediocre patch content, with all the attention Verminion got in Live Letters and such it felt as though it had bogarted much of Square Enix's budget and attention- exacerbating the evaporation of good faith in an increasingly disgruntled player population frustrated by Heavensward's poor endgame and failure to innovate.

2.1 was a good standard for content release.
3.1 is fucking abysmal. And it's mainly the fault of the production committee for being downright niggardly with their budgeting for what is unquestionably Square Enix's biggest cash cow (as they try to push FFXV and VII:Re out their collective corporate anus).

What MMO players want is enough questing and raid content that they aren't bored to fucking tears only one month after a major content patch. And for that SE needs to triple its current budget.

Some german players (shit or not) went full elitist and speedrunners more than usual. They can shit up a run witout waring, like ignoring mechanics, or not telling anyone what they are about to do (in general tanks). A source of endless raid drama in FCs too.
Then there are the pure casual german players, who are by default bad at the game.
Last but not least the good german players went mostly casual because of boring content and those other germans mentioned above they are forced to run with.

Meanwhile the fench are pretty bad, but not elitist. They get mad, but don't act superior to anyone but the germans. There are a few amazing players on the same level as the amazing german players, but again without the ego.

From then on I was able to get into farm groups and cleared it 90% of the time.

They had content like that before. Second Coil took a good while to clear, not to mention Second Coil Savage. The difference between those was that clearing Second Coil was eventually attainable even to casuals and Savage was an optional achievement for the big dick raiders instead of the only raiding content in existence. The current model is benefitting no one. It doesn't help that A4S is a really shitty, unfun fight.

I don't get why you'd want that, though. Normal is fine for casuals. Instead of making normal harder, they should make an Alexander Hard mode which is around the difficulty you described, then make Savage Mode the same as hard but with bigger numbers so it's unforgiving.

Except they admit they were badly tuned. There's nothing wrong with that level of difficulty, but it should be in a SCOB Savage style raid.

What they should do, and what Yoshi has says he wants to do, is to have three difficulties. Normal equivalent to current Alex normal(i.e faceroll), Hard equivalent to BCOB, A1/A2- basically, midcore, that most groups can clear with some effort, but doesn't require perfection and is somewhat forgiving, and Savage, that is for the epeen brigade and worldfirsters. That would be perfect

Problem is, Yoshi and/or SE is draining XIV as a cash cow, so they don't have the resources to do this. Honestly, if Midas is badly tunes so that my midcore group can't meaningfully progress, I'm quitting the game to become a casual sub-at-each-patch player.
