no your first playthrough still feels like a traditional souls game, there are plenty of places to go and there's a LOT to do even at the point where you're like "OK the game must be ending soon", not unlike souls really that being said it's got much more of an action game mentality than an RPG one, so replay value is slightly more limited than souls luckily the game itself is fantastic and extremely fun to play, it's just that each of your playthroughs will generally be more similar than playthroughs of dark souls. first playthrough if you focus on exploration over fast completion you can easily break 30 hrs point is it's a fantastic fucking video game and it doesn't even goddamn matter how long it is. video games end when you don't want to play anymore, not when you see the credits.
>>323173552 My first play through was without DLC and around 30 hours but I've made 3 more characters since and each has hit close to the same mark. Plus there's chalice dungeons which I've only done with one character.
Overall though I think I'm gonna put it down soon though so I don't wear it out
>>323173552 And you can find MGSV and Witcher 3 for the same price. All of them were $20-25 over the holidays. Price doesn't correlate to length of game or else games wouldn't be sold at the same price of $59.99 on release.
But yeah it's not long. I picked it up for $20 on black friday. That said though it's not really shorter than other souls games. The length of these games comes from being stuck in an area or on a boss. Once you git gud all souls games feel short.
>>323180192 >I played through DeS and DaS but skipped DS2 You're alright anon.
Tips people game me when I started was go for Hunters Axe (it's a Str weapon with a badass R2 attack) and Pistol. As a first timer pumping Vit is quite important, End/Stamina less so, it fills up a lot faster than DaS or DeS (but it's still nice to have enough to pull off a full combo). Also you won't be able to level up for a bit at the beginning, so don't worry about ding and loosing your echos for a decent amount of time while you get used to the combat.
Other than that, I say just take your time and try to absorb every detail you can, this is honestly my favourite From world so far.
>this was only 40 bucks It should be cheaper tbqh, it's already old Nobody liked it except a small minority of very vocal faggots who only had 1 game to play It didn't win any awards at the 2015 VGAs. nothing, nada, zero, zilch Future generations of kids will look back at "old top 10 games lists that won game awards" will most likely see bloodborne as a niche forgotten console title, because it won't be on any of them
the majority here is the nintendo userbase, the users that make up the pc base here on /v/ are arabs, slavs, africans and flat out broke people who can't afford a console or a solid pc to run games, so they hate on everything
>>323183073 and sonyggers are just a very tiny minority of vocal faggots who post here all the time constantly and disproportionally because they only got 1 game to play, so either way, sonyggers need to gtfo instead of telling others to leave.
>>323183073 >can't afford That makes no sense. Then why do consolefags say that having a gaming rig is too expensive and costs thousands of dollars? Maybe pc gamers are simply just not dumb enough to pay for shit hardware from the turn of the century that straight up belongs in landfills in 2016
>>323184218 That's probably because there are a million fucking bloodborne threads a day, usually up to 3 of them going at once. Take this shit to /vg/ if you guys want to talk about the PS4's only exclusive.
>>323183527 PC "gamers" are more like the jehovas witnesses of 4chan. The only reason anyone gets a gaming pc is to argue with other autists over who spent the most and watching fps counters. All the best pc titles are toaster-core
>>323184003 > Then why do consolefags say that having a gaming rig is too expensive and costs thousands of dollars? Maybe pc gamers are simply just not dumb enough to pay for shit hardware from the turn of the century that straight up belongs in landfills in 2016.
I challenge you to build me a gaming PC that cost $349 USD.
>be pc mustard race >want to try something new >handhelds seem cool >they ruin my hands and never get outside anyway >wii u looks fun but no friends to play with >bloodborne looks dope but costs $500 Xbox 360 seems to be the way with wolverine origins and prototype.
>>323187178 >I'm so dumb I never include the price that mom and dad paid for the couch and TV where I play my games, it didn't cost me anything, so it must be free! >I'm terrible at math, and haven't yet realized I'm going to keep on paying for this shitty console (not even for upgrades!) foreverrrrrrrrrrr
>>323187954 >and never get outside anyway hardly anyone plays handhelds outside nowadays outside of Japan, for better or worse snuggling up in bed in the middle of the night playing handhelds is the best way to go
>>323188214 > Cost more than 349 > No keyboard, mouse, or controller included, so I can't input anything into the system. > No monitor included, and unlike a HDTV I have no reason to have a HD computer monitor in my house.
>>323188850 > When something doesn't fit my narrative I hurl insults...
What are you, 12? I have a TV because I do I like to have friends over to watch sports, and my wife likes to watch a few shows herself. I don't have a computer monitor because a 4 year old, $300 laptop serves all of my personal computing needs.
>>323189194 Except that I have an ugly PC tower sitting in my living room, and there's the awkward placement of a keyboard + mouse to actually play the games.
>>323189518 I didn't watch the whole stupid 42 minute video because that's a monumental waste of time. I scrolled to the part where he listed components on the screen and he did not list a keyboard + mouse or a controller.
>>323188010 See above, the couch(es) I own are paid for by me and I'd have it with or without a PS4. I don't need PS+ to do anything I want to do on the PS4. Playing COD with a bunch of snot-nosed 15 year olds is not interesting to me.
>>323187662 No, I'm admitting that it's the most cost-efficient way to get into modern 3D gaming.
>>323191694 It never dawned on me that Old Yharnam was 'optional.' It seemed pretty intuitive that it was the next place to go after Cathedral Ward, since the game doesn't really give you an obvious hint that the cutscene gives you the password to the door. It wasn't until I beat the BSB that I was like "uh, now where do I go?"
In fact the first thing I found was Hypogean Gaol when I died looking for where to go. Then I found the lecture building and got stuck at Nightmare Frontier. Finally gave up to look for help and realized that I had missed two areas, one of which was actually the right way to go to advance the game.
